EXCERPT. "What do you mean?" "What I mean Ethan is that i can't live with a man who i am not married to." Maria snapped at me, her face flushed with emotion. This was the first time she had ever raised her voice at me. I could tell she was hurting. "So what do you want me to do?" Though i asked, a part of me already had a clue as to what she might say. "A divorce. I want you to divorce her so-." "I can't" I quickly cut her off. "Why not? Is there some law which says you can't?!" Maria paused. Her body trembling with rage," For God sake you were drunk Ethan! So was she! You have enough reason to get.-" "That's not what I meant." "Then what do you mean?" I didn't understand it myself. I had no idea what had come over me, but the flame. It burned deep inside my chest. I had to understand what it meant. "I want to feel it." "Feel what Ethan? You're not making any sense!" "I'm not stupid. Even though I was drunk i still had some Sense. There's no way i could have married her if i didn't have a reason. If i didn't feel something." "What are you trying to say to me Ethan." Maria slowly approached me, tears dripping down her face. I looked away from her, i didn't want my gaze to meet hers. I knew what i was doing wasn't right, i just couldn't stop myself. I had to find out what happened that night. "What I'm trying to say is that. I need to feel it. I need to understand what i felt for her that made me marry her. I need to understand that feeling and until i get that... I can't divorce her." "What?" "I'm sorry Maria." I knew i had hurt her, i knew what i was doing was wrong. But there was nothing more i could do. My mind was made up.

"Good morning Sir, please it's time to get up. We have a lot to do today ahead of your dinner/engagement party." I heard a voice in the distance.

"Sir please get up its-."

"I heard you the first time Andrew." I groaned lazily as i lifted my upper body off my bed.

"Good morning Sir." Andrew politely repeated with a bow. 'Honestly this kid.'

"How long have you been standing there?" I asked curiously. My mind was still foggy, this made me feel slightly disoriented. Plus with the way my head banged, it was very difficult of me to even open my eyes full way. 'After all this time to think i can't still handle a hangover.' I scolded myself.

"Here you go sir." Andrew picked up a glass of water which had something dissolved in it then, he handed it over to me. Completely ignoring my question, "It'll help with the hangover."

"Thanks. Now how long have you been standing there?" I repeated. If Andrew had entered my room within the past thirty minutes which i had been half awake, i would have heard his footsteps. This could only mean he had been in my room before that time.

"Well Sir..." He stalled. He looked apprehensive as if unsure of how he was to answer me. "The truth is I've been here since six."

I blinked twice. My gaze was fixed on a fidgeting Andrew. Slowly, i sipped the concoction in my hand, "What time is it now?"

He hesitated. "I-it's past nine Sir."

"What?!" Though i managed to advert choking, i had spilled some of the concoction on my thighs.

"Sir are you okay?!" Andrew rushed over to me, a towel in his hands.

"Ah ah ah, stay there!" My eyes were agape. I collected the towel from him and cleaned up the mess myself. Usually i would have had Andrew clean it, but with what he had just said to me; i had too many questions. I couldn't let me near me. "W-what were you doing in my room since that time?" I questioned; too many things running through my head.

"Ok Sir please don't take this the wrong way, okay?" Andrew slowly approached me. He placed hands infront of him as if trying to tell me that me that he meant no harm, "I um." He gulped nervously, "I watched you sleep Sir."

"Get out. Get out NOW!"

"Are you done getting ready Sir? May i come in now?" Andrew beckoned from the other side of the door.

I sighed,"If you must." ' Honestly this kid!'

"Thank you Sir." Andrew gave off a shy smile. "You look good as always Sir." He praised my appearance. Though I'd never admit it to him, his words sometimes pleased me. SOMETIMES!

"Thank you Andrew. Let's go." After having breakfast, Andrew and i headed out to work. As we discussed on how to reorganise my schedule for the day on the drive to work, i noticed there was something off with him. Andrew wasn't his usual bubbly self and though he tried to act that way, i could see right through his facade.

Observing him closely, i figured out exactly what had happened. He had another fight with his sister. I was concerned, but i decided it was best not to bring it up as i had a lot of meetings to attend and i needed Andrew to be on top of his game. I had promised myself I'd talk to him about it another time.

Days went by and before I knew it, it was a night to the dinner party. Through out the week, Annie and i explored several boutiques within our area in search of the perfect outfits. Eventually, we did. Annie was like a war machine, after we found our perfect outfits, she relentlessly bargained with the boutique's owner until she gave us the dresses for half-price! Honestly that woman could do it all.

Even though I spent a better half of the week in Annie's house, i didn't once set my eyes on Andrew. Actually a part of me got excited everytime i was there, but each time i didn't see Andrew, I'd feel sad for some reason.

"Tomorrow night is the night." Annie stated as we sat on her couch watching a romantic movie.

"Yes i can't wait." I said half-heartedly. I still had some of my initial apprehension about the whole dinner night, but being around Annie made me feel better. I did notice that Annie was no longer as excited about the party like she was when Andrew first gave me the news. It was almost like something had changed, but she wouldn't tell me about it.

"I LOVE YOU."

"I LOVE YOU TOO."

*SMOOTH*

"Ah?" My thoughts got distracted by the sight of two people kissing in the movie. I gasped and instantaneously covered my eyes. Underneath my hands, my mouth widened into a shy smile with my face cherry red.

"It's over Roxi," Annie announced. She playfully dragged my hands away from my eyes as i heard her laughing. "You are so shy it's adorable." Annie laughed as she threw pieces of popcorn on my red face. "It's no big deal it's just a kiss." She continued to joke around.

"Easy for you to say!" I fidgeted with my fingers. Looking down i lowered my voice, "I have never done it before." For some reason I felt really overwhelmed saying something like that. It was the painful truth. I had no experience with such -- at least non that i could remember.

"I understand, we were all once like that. Though i haven't done anything serious. I at least had some few kisses here and there." Annie shrugged. In that moment she sounded soo cool to me.

"Really?!" My eyes glittered with excitement. I immediately pounced on Annie. "Tell me, how was it?!" My heart raced, i wanted to know more about the intricacies associated with a kiss.

"We-Well... Uh..." Annie stalled. Beads of sweat formed on her head as she stared intently into my eyes. "Well..."

"I'm home." Andrew announced as he walked through the door.

"Ahh! Ask Andrew." Annie said immediately before pushing me off her. It all happened in a flash. Before i knew it i was standing right in front of Andrew. He smelt so good!

"Ask me what?" He casually asked, placing his coat on a rack besides the door.

"Well... Uh." I froze. I had not planned this out in my head. What was i to say now that i was right before him? My heart raced faster. I was now the person being put on the spot. "Um." I continued to shiver.

"Roxi wants to know what a kiss is like." Annie yelled from the kitchen. I could here her sniggering in the background. Curse you Annie! I screamed in my head.

"Oh, i see." That was all he said before he paused for a while. Out of the blue, Andrew started taking some steps towards me. He bent slightly, "Do you want me to teach you?" His face was dangerously close to mine. I could feel the heat emanating from his body. "Do you?" He repeated once more this time he leaned into my ear. The fact that Andrew casually asked me this without even a slightest hint of emotion on his face, made my head spin. I gulped hard. No matter how many times I ran this question through my head, i always ended up with the same answer. Yes.

I bit my lip to contain the emotions that ran through my body. Annie said that a kiss wasn't a big deal, why was i reacting like this? Honestly at that point, i wasn't sure if i was going to regret my answer, but all my sense urged me onwards. There was no turning back. I was ready to give my reply. I was going to go for it!

"Um... Ye-".

"I was joking Roxi don't take it so seriously." Andrew cut me off. I felt my existence crumble to dust. He passed me then walked over to the kitchen to get a bottle of water from the fridge. "A kiss is just two people's lips touching. It means absolutely nothing if it's just random. However, it could be life changing if it's with someone you truly care about." I heard him in the background.

What the butt just happened? I asked myself over and over again. At once all the emotions i felt vanished. I wasn't even shy anymore i was just flabbergasted. I walked back to the couch in silence. I sat on it; my legs bent to my chest. I got hold of the remote and immediately changed the channel to a wrestling match. I wasn't sure if I had blinked since Andrew walked past me. All i knew was that I'd never watch a romantic movie ever again.

So exciting. Things are finally leading up to the first major arc! Hooray!! More to come!!
