The god Of Escorting Souls

While Keres was in dreamland the two-faced god was in his domain. Sitting on his chair and puffing on his two pipes looking quite at peace.

(I wonder when I'll get another soul to handle. Hopefully, none of the others notice too soon as they usually accost me for a couple of years before they leave it alone.)

It was at this moment another god appeared with two snakes accompanying him.

(Oh for f*ck sake. He's faster than usual as well.) The two faced god noted.

"Did I not tell you last time to bring me those souls that you find?" The god with the snakes angrily asked.

"You know I rarely get to handle souls. Also, you know how spectacular they become!"

"That's the problem fool. Because of your extreme demands that they must occasionally choose between two options. They tend to bring havoc to the worlds they go to!"

"Hahaha. Don't worry old friend I fixed that issue!"

"You mean you finally won't impose your options upon those souls?"

"Nonsense the options still appear."

The god with two snakes brows furrowed and then asked.

"Then how did you fix the issue!?"

"Hehehe. By adding a third option which is to decline. Aren't I a genius?" The two-faced god smugly said.

The god with the two snakes is stunned into silence for a few minutes.

"Not bad, not bad you finally relented on your insane two options only policy. So this third option to decline will always be there right?"

Silence.

"Mother F*cker! Why would the third option not always be there?" The god with two snakes bellowed.

Taking in a few puffs from his pipe the two-faced god replied in a serious tone.

"Relax the third option will appear most of the time"

"When it would it not appear then?"

"Well, when that soul makes choices that lead to a scenario where deciding between a and b cannot be skirted by declining to choose. For example, if that soul gives a promise of marriage then in the future they either fulfill or break it. I think I'm justified in taking away the third option in these scenarios. It will also be a nice little surprise for that soul as well hehehe."

The god with two snakes after contemplating what he heard nods his head with approval.

"So which world did you send that soul?"

Hearing this question the two-faced god frowned.

"The one with those inferior imitations."

"Knowing you, you probably sent that soul in hopes he kills some of them. Still, I'm glad you did."

Both of the gods sported an evil grin on their face.

Keres woke up in a bed wearing a robe and immediately noticed a very tall man in the room with him as well. The man was looked no older than thirty and was wearing dull golden armor, a purple sash, black pants, dull golden armored knee pads, dull golden shinguards, with black boots. On his waist was a sword that was currently sheathed in its red scabbard. The tall man saw that Keres was awake began to speak.

"My name is Lew the Captain of the guards."

"Keres."

"So Keres you were asleep for two days. I'm guessing since you appeared out of nowhere you used magic. I've got to ask what magic were you using and why?"

"RKO magic" Keres mumbled.

"What?"

*Cough* *Cough*

"My magic is a secret but I was using it to reach safety

Although Keres didn't divulge what type of magic he was using. Lew did not mind as he really couldn't force Keres to tell him.

"Why did you need to reach safety?"

"I had no supplies and no hunting gear."

"How come?"

(Because of that dam god!) Keres inwardly cursed while thinking of a plausible lie on the fly Keres answered.

"Bandits stole my gear and supplies."

"Did you catch any of their appearances?"

"No, but most of them had a diamond shape emblem with a circle in the center"

Lew scratched his chin in confusion as he never heard of any bandits using this emblem. Also, he thought of a discrepancy in Keres story.

"Why didn't you use your magic to get away with your stuff?" Lew asked with his eyes gleaming.

"Because my magic requires complete focus and a long cast time." Keres answered without hesitation.

Lew's eyes dimmed when he heard Keres's answer.

"Were you alone when this happened?"

(Goddammit why did I get such an inquisitive guard)

"Yes."

"Where's your family?"

(F*ck! I don't know any places.)

"My dad is somewhere in the woods."

"How come he wasn't with you?"

"It was because I went out hunting alone." Keres replied in an annoyed tone and continued.

"Shouldn't you be looking for those bandits?"

"Ah. Sorry just got to make sure that's all. Let me go get the doc for you."

Lew left the room leaving Keres alone resting on the bed. After a few minutes of waiting. A man with a white coat walked in. Standing at six feet, he had white skin, a head full of black hair, a pair of glasses, a green shirt, and brown pants. Smiling at Keres he introduced himself.

"Hello, you can call me Dr. J or just Doc."

"Hey, doc. So when am I good to go?"

"Well other than you being unconscious for two days you appear to be completely fine. So you are free to go now but allow me to check once more just in case?"

Keres not in a rush assented to the docs request. A few minutes passed by as Doc checked Kere's vitals occasionally nodding his head in satisfaction.

"Alright, before you go a nurse will come in with a meal since you haven't eaten and your clothes are under the bed. Take it easy just in case."

"Thank you for the treatment and meal Doc."

After Doc left Keres slipped on his clothes, ate his meal, and left the hospital. Exiting the building Keres began to look around. The sky was beginning to darken, the huge tower was to the east, while the street he was on was flanked by numerous buildings.

(Need to find a place to gather information)

Keres began walking in his old man manner towards the tower keeping an eye out for any clues that may tell him where the hell he is. Walking for some time Keres noticed two elderly men playing a game of chess in front of a boisterous pub. They were both wearing jackets, dress pants, and shirts. The only difference in their appearance was the appearance of their clothing. The man on the left clothes clean and looked to have no stains. While the man on the right had his clothes in a mess, with stains, and a few missing patches. Keres approached the two men, who did not notice him as they were intensely focusing on their game.

Seeing the position on the board Keres noted that the board was in complete madness.
