Mated to the Mad Lord

#Rated 18-Mature Themes Violet’s life was never her own—her father’s crushing debt made sure of that. But when the debt collector comes to carve a payment from her body, she takes a desperate deal: become a servant and spy on the mysterious and tyrannical Lord Cain, the ruler of her Werewolf district. There’s just one catch: Lord Cain permits only male servants in his house. Disguised as a boy, Violet cuts her hair, flattens her chest, and dons a voice-altering band to pull off the deception. Everything is going according to plan—until Cain, a man known for his cold and unwavering authority, starts to take a peculiar interest in her. Violet’s disguise becomes a prison of its own as she battles her own growing attraction to him. But this is no love story. Cain’s obsession to her is dangerous. Beneath cold allure lies a darkness Violet can’t ignore, a mind fractured by years of affliction by a curse. A curse made by Violet's biological mother: A powerful witch. ************* "TAKE IT OFF!" Violet’s knees nearly buckled at the thunderous command, her chest tightening with panic. The raw anger in Cain’s voice was as sharp as a blade. "My lord! I-I’m a man!" she stammered, gripping her shirt tightly, her fingers trembling as they clung to the fabric. "I don't like other men!" she cried, a desperate plea in her voice since the second she took her shirt off and he discovered that she was a woman was the moment she died. Painfully. Cain’s glare was unyielding, his voice dropping into a growl. "Don’t insult me, You think I do. You kissed me!" Her breath hitched as he stepped closer, his presence suffocating. "If you don’t take it off," he said, his tone low and dangerous, "I’ll rip it off myself." Violet’s mind raced, panic threatening to overwhelm her. She couldn’t let him find out—he’d kill her. Painfully. Glancing away to avoid his gaze when she caught the undeniable bulge in his trousers. Heat flushed her face, her thoughts spinning in desperation at the only idea she could think of to make him back off. 'This has to work. It has to!'

Punishment

"Stop! The boy still speaks!" Cain spoke from where he was seated in the corner of the room where his study was, as he sat on his chair. His eyes fixed on the bloody bandages, already aware of everything that happened since it was Ravon's signature move.

"Rise and lift your head. Let me get a good look at you!" with Violet immediately obeying even as she heard the same cool and cold voice she had heard when a gun had been pointed directly at her temple.

Her eyes settled on the same image of the person she had saw, the sight of which she couldn't help but marvel at, his blonde hair and golden brown eyes even as his cold and soulless eyes had her scrambling for where to run and hide as his gaze seemed to look directly into her soul.

A frown appeared on his face that made her feel that he didn't like what he found there.

"You're skinny with a weird feminine face. You're what, Fifteen," he said to which Violet immediately shook her head as she mumbled back in a low time bowing her head in a way that showed respect especially since Ravon was yet to be permitted to lift his.

"Twenty! I'll be twenty-one in November. In-in two months!" stuttering after realizing that there was no need to mention her birth month.

"Hmmm!" she heard him hum wanting to look at him to see the expression on his face but not daring too as she fixed her gaze firmly on the ground waiting until he felt the need to speak again.

"Ravon! You may leave!" He ordered and Violet wasn't sure whether to be relieved or scared but it was only until Ravon lowered his head again and turned around to leave that Violet heard her own heart thumping heavily in her chest as she struggled to breathe. Sweat pooling in her back and forehead as she heard the door gently slam closed to show that she and Cain were alone in the room.

Her breathing grew heavier even as she heard him speak to her again. "Raise your head and come closer!" he ordered even as Violet hurriedly moved forward to obey and do as she was told as quickly as possible.

Only stopping when she stood right in front of the huge table he sat in front of. Raising her head to meet his gaze only to instantly shift her gaze to his neck, surprised to find his shirt unbuttoned with two buttons unclasped.

Her mind was slowly focused there when she heard him say words that has her falling back to reality as she tightened her fists, the pain in her hand enough to keep her grounded.

"I hate the colour of your eyes!" he said, his tone laced with such hate that for a second Violet no longer cared. Her nerves so far strung that she suddenly felt too tired to care anyone.

'If you want to kill me just do it!' the air tense enough to fee that he was starring daggers at her almost like he'll like nothing more than to take her head off her shoulders or string her dead body up on the gate.

"I can wear contacts if you'll prefer!" Violet responded in a low tone, hoping that maybe hiding them would increase her chances of survival as she recalled Ravon's words.

'Whats so special about my eyes!' placing the thought at the back of her mind as she instead focused more on the man in front of her whose hands continued to move over the papers on his table as he went ahead to ignore her.

For the first few minutes, Violet said nothing until the minutes became an hour, her mind reeling from the silence which was only punctuated by the sound of Cain's pen moving across the papers on his table.

'Is he writing a report of something?' Violet wondered but above all she couldn't help but wonder why she had to stand and wait for him to do so. 'Can't he just dismiss me first?'

'Honestly, maybe this isn't so bad. It's better than him pointing a gun at my head!'

'Still! How many hours do I have to stand here like this with my head bent! He did give me permission to raise my head!' different thoughts going through her mind but she had just raised her head a little more curious to know what he was up to, only to freeze as she met his eyes when he lifted his head at the same time.

Stretching out his hand to hand her the papers he had been writing on since she had been standing there. "Those are all your duties for the rest of the day!"

Violet vigorously nodded her he'd as she collected the pages with a worried expression on her face considering they seemed to be more than fifty pages all altogether and the writing on them was particularly small.

It didn't help when she took a closer look and read the first line that made her stiffen in shock. "Place a bucket in the center of the room and fill it with a fork!"

Even as she heard Cain continue to speak as he moved his chair his focus shifting to the other files on his table.

"If you don't finish it. As punishment, one of your eyes will be gorged out!" his voice was calm and cool. Eyes cold-and empty, in a way that left no aorta of doubt in Violet's heart that he meant every word.
