Chapter 245: Fake form of black-footed cat (Edited)

"Nyajajajaja! This magic potion is really funny nya."

As they left the infirmary, Fish held up the Multijuice Potion he got from Hermione, and smilingly said to Fawkes over his shoulder, "It actually makes people look like cats.... If I add your feathers, I wonder if I can grow wings nya."

"Caw...!"

Fawkes immediately pecked Fish on the head, stopping him from this dangerous idea.

"If you're not going to give it to me, don't give it to me, why are you pecking me...?"

Fish puffed out his cheeks in aggravation, rubbing his head and muttering under his breath.

Then he pulled a handful of the black-legged cat hair Dumbledore had gotten him straight from his pocket, uncorked the glass bottle, and dropped it inside.

The tea-colored hair fell into the black tonic in the bottle, and the Multijuice Potion, which had been standing still, rattled like a stream of boiling water and bubbled profusely.

After a second or so, the Multijuice Potion quickly calmed down again, still black in color, but with some reddish-brown highlights visible inside.

Bringing his nose to the mouth of the bottle and sniffing it twice, Fish frowned unconsciously.

The smell of rotting leaves was intensified by the addition of hair, and while it wasn't that Fish didn't eat vegetables, he preferred meat, and the smell of rotting leaves wasn't good enough just by smelling it.

But the desire for a new form... to be precise, it should be curiosity, that still prompted Fish to scrunch up his nose and drink the potion from the bottle in one gulp.

Indeed, the taste was just as Fish expected, it was not good at all, simply put, it tasted like a thick vegetable soup without any seasoning... and with a bitter aftertaste.

Fish crouched down, covering his stomach, and his whole body curled up.

Immediately afterwards, a burning sensation spread from his stomach to his whole body, making him feel as if his whole body was melting, which made him unconsciously use The [Rejuvenation] Enchantment and a [Toxin Neutralizer].

But the process was a normal reaction of the Multijuice Potion, so Fish's spells had no effect.

The unpleasant feeling didn't last long, as the burning sensation soon receded like a tidal wave, and Fish got up from the ground with a dazed look on his face.

"Nya?"

Stretching his arms and kicking his legs, Fish checked that he was completely fine, not only fine, but his body seemed lighter.

And unlike Fish's feline form, he had not reduced in size, and the shape of his hand was still the same as a human arm, just with an extra layer of fur.

He reached up and touched his head, and although the nose, mouth and ears looked cat-like, the overall structure of his head was more human-like, and his legs had not become the reverse jointed shape of a cat's, but were still human-shaped, as were his arms, with an extra layer of fur.

Fish had expected it, after all, he had already seen Hermione's precedent, and it was in the same state.

What mattered was whether his feline form could change into that of a black-footed cat.

Undoing the transformation spell, Fish's body grew smaller and smaller, and he was back to cat form in the blink of an eye.

Trotting over to a suit of armor, the armor's reflection allowed Fish to see his current appearance.

His appearance was no longer that of a small tabby cat, but that of a black-footed cat, not just a pseudo-transformation in which he changed the color of his fur, but the proportions of his cat-shaped body had changed to that of a black-footed cat with an oversized head and black paws.

The only problem is... he's still the same size as before and hasn't woken up to his black-footed cat form just because he turned into one.

But Fish wasn't disappointed by this, because Hermione had also told him before that the Multijuice Potion transformation was just to become the object of the material supply, and was very different from his [Shape Shifting] spell.

The main reason Fish wasn't in a hurry was because before his clouded leopard transformation he had a similar sense of foreboding, that some kind of power was brewing inside him that would explode when the time came, just as it had when he had become a clouded leopard.

After regaining his human form, Fish still looked like a feline person, but he didn't care and led Fawkes to the Gryffindor Common Room.

"Fish? Have you been to see Hermione?"

When they returned to the dormitory, Harry and Ron were still awake.

Although they hadn't seen Fish in that state before, his [Animal Affinity] and Fawkes' presence on his shoulder made it clear why he looked like that, and when they thought of Hermione, who had been taken to the infirmary, it wasn't hard to guess why Fish looked like that.

"Why do you use cat hair in the Multijuice Potion too..." said Harry with a bitter smile, thinking that Fish had seen Hermione's face and was curious enough to follow suit.

"I was going to turn into a black-legged cat, Ron knows that."

Fish sat cross-legged on his bunk, while Fawkes perched on his bed.

Hearing what Fish said, Ron later realized that Fish's current appearance was very similar to the kitten called the black-footed cat in the book.

"Oh..."

After looking at Ron and receiving an affirmative response from him, Harry scratched his head in distress.

He wasn't worried about Fish turning into a cat-person, but unlike Hermione, Fish wasn't hiding in the infirmary, and if the rest of the people, and especially Professor McGonagall, saw them tomorrow, the whole Multijuice Potion thing would be exposed....

This was not something that could be hidden by asking Fish to help keep the secret.

But he wasn't particularly worried.

His and Ron's transformation had gone well, and even if Malfoy suspected something, they could simply deny it, and with Hermione's good grades, and even though she would be punished for the way she looked now, Professor McGonagall probably wouldn't be too hard on her.

As for Fish...

They didn't have to worry about that.

So even if Professor McGonagall wanted to investigate, it would only be a few House points.

And if you think about it, even without Fish, Hermione couldn't hide it from Professor McGonagall, so it was only a matter of time before she was found out.

Thinking about it this way, it doesn't seem to matter whether Fish drinks Multijuice Potion or not.

After thinking for a while, Harry gradually calmed down.

After all the trouble Fish had created trouble for last term, the Gryffindor students had taken the House Points in stride, and so had Harry.

"Fish is going to bed, goodnight nya."

After a few words, Fish opened his mouth wide and yawned, then transformed back into his cat form, lay curled up in a ball on the pillow and went to sleep.

"Good night, Fish."

Harry and Ron turned off the lights in their rooms, went back to their respective beds and fell asleep.
