Idris. POV.
"Idris Rosario." I closed the fridge and saw Nick fucking Fury sitting on my chair.
We had been living in the new apartment for a week and decided to lay low. Neena was still mad at me because of the old apartment. The new apartment though was A plus. Two bedrooms, one bath, a half dining room half kitchen, and a full living room. I completely forgot we lived in New York.
"Nick Fury. You're in my apartment." I said as I opened the bottle of water and took a sip. "Can I get you something?" I gestured to the fridge.
"You're handling this better than I thought you would." He said as he shook his head at my question. I shrugged, walked to the couch, sat down, and put my feet up on the new coffee table.
"Not much you can do to worry me." He just stared at me with his one eye.
"I could arrest you." I laughed. Out loud full belly laughs right in the face of this shmuck.
"Please…My stomach…You're going to make me cry." I said between breaths, and he just kept staring at me.
"I have you for murder, destruction of property, disturbing the peace." My laughter was dying out. I was smiling now.
"Yeah. Have fun with that. Can you even arrest people?" He just kept staring at me. His face never changed.
"I can put you in a hole where no could find you." He crossed one leg over the other and folded his hands on his stomach.
"Right. Sure, you could. So why are you?" I finally asked him.
"I'm organizing a mission. I need someone with your, "skills" to do the mission."
"Nah I'm good. Kind of laying low." He didn't bate his lone eye at my east dismissal.
"Because of the Hydra attack."
"So, you do know something about that."
"I know a lot about you. You were experimented on for almost a year making you what you are now. You were a X-man for a week before leaving. You then were picked up by a family who helped you out. Lived in Maine for a month. Then came to New York and killed a man. Did small work as a mercenary with your partner. Domino. I could continue."
"Please don't." I raised my hand and cringed my face. God. Talk talk talk.
"You'll be paid appropriately and even be offered a more permanent role as one of special operators. I could use someone like you."
"An incredibly charming man, who has the ability to turn into fire?"
"A man without a conscience." I gasped and put my hand on my heart.
"I have a conscience. I feel things." He stared at me blankly. Then I sighed. "Being skinned alive and then discovering you can't die does have an effect on you after a while." I said with a grim smile and downed the rest of my water. "Look. I still care about people, so if you want me to burn down some third world village then go fuck yourself." I stood up and threw the water bottle into the trash.
"That's not what I want you to do. I want you to kill this man." He pulled a folder out of his trench coat and put it on the table. I raised an eyebrow and picked up the folder. I sat back down on the coach and opened it.
Tomi Shishido. Mutant. HYDRA. Swordsman. DANGEROUS.
"What he do?"
"He proved God existed." I looked up from the file to see if it was a joke. Again. Face as cold as stone.
"You can't be serious."
"He also leads a mutant terrorist group in Japan called the Dawn of The White Light. Normally Shield doesn't get involved with offshore affairs. But that's only on paper. You're the perfect choice for the job."
"How do you mean?" I closed the folder and put it back down.
"He turns his enemies into stone when he looks at them. People in Japan call him Gorgon because of it." I hummed after the explanation and leaned further into the couch.
"I see now why you need me." I grabbed the folder and looked back in it.
"We can't risk anymore of our agents. The world needs you." I looked up at him and I saw a hint of emotion in his eyes. I stared at him for a minute. Just pure eye contact. Looking into his soul and shit.
"Fine. I'll kill the guy. Money upfront, and you tell absolutely no one where I'm staying, if I see some Hydra dipshits here. I'll erase Shield from the planet. Not to brag but I can do it, it'll probably take a few deaths, but it will get done." I said with finality, he pulled out a phone and called someone. They had a short conversation.
"Done. The money is being sent to an offshore account that you will have access to once you start the mission. My Deputy Director will be in contact with you. Name, Maria Hill." With that he left threw the door. "And another thing." He paused at the doorway. "I'll look into those hydra agents for you, god damn motherfuckers." He closed the door and I let out a sigh. For all I know he could have this whole room bugged. Hell, I didn't even know he was in the room until he said something.
"People really need to stop showing up to where I live, or else you're going to need to find another place to stay." I heard Neena's voice from the hallway leading to the bedrooms. She walked out in a tank top and short shorts. She had a bonnet on her head and a pistol in hand. Her slippers were making a soft sound as she stepped, and an annoyed expression marked her face.
"I don't know if I should feel incredibly attracted at what I'm seeing or apologetic that I woke you up." Her frown deepened and she crossed her arms. Her cleavage was in full action right now.
"Keep it in your pants. When are you leaving for the mission?" I stood up and shrugged.
"Don't know."
"You trust him?"
"Choices are limited." I walked back to the fridge and pulled out an apple. "Seems like an alright guy though, I mean besides the first time I met him." She looked at me like she wanted an explanation. "Oh. He threw a ice grenade at me or something." I took a bite out of the apple and she looked bewildered.
"Are you serious?" I was still chewing the apple.
"That's what I mean." Another bite. "That is not a way to make a good impression on someone." Another bite and I leaned against the kitchen counter. She was staring at me like I was stupid.
"Then why are you doing him a fucking favor. He tried to kill you."
"That's a stretch, if I was in his shoes, I would probably do the same thing. Also, I'm doing this for the world baby!" I reached my arms out in front of and she just kept staring at me.
"You are unbelievable." She walked back to her room, and I looked confused.
"What do you mean by that? Neena. Neena come back!"
Tomi Shishido. The Gorgon. POV.
Gentle music was playing in the background. I was in my estate. I was painting a new piece. It was to capture my struggle and help me find peace within the conflict of my powers. I delivered another soft stroke to the canvas. I was interrupted by the paper door sliding open and footsteps signifying someone was here.
"I was not to be disturbed." I delivered another stroke to the canvas. I could feel his excitement.
"I apologize, Shishido-Sama. Another spy has been captured." I sighed and put down the brush.
"Could you not handle him yourself?" The excitement halted for a second, but it returned.
"It is what we discovered about him that is important, Shishido- Sama." I grabbed my blindfold and stood up. I turned around to find the man that was speaking kneeling with his forehead touching the floor. I wrapped the blindfold around my eyes.
"Stand up." I could hear him stand and sigh in relief. His thoughts were jumbled at best. "Take me to this spy."
"Hai, Shishido-Sama." He bowed again and I followed his footsteps. He led me to the clearing. The wind was blowing gently in the leaf's. The air was sweet, and salty. Sweat. I could hear a man struggling against binds.
"You are the spy?" I heard him stop and spit at the ground.
"Go fuck yourself, you mutant piece of shit."
"Ah. American. I should have known. Always the first to be caught. Not known for your stealth prowess." He snorted and let out a dry chuckle.
"You ain't getting a thing out of me, you blind cunt." I smirked.
"You are right. There is no torture you haven't experienced, am I right?"
"Something like that" I could hear the smile on his face.
"Then I shall try something new." I walked over to him and grabbed his head. "Yes. You will not enjoy this very much." He was shaking his head and trying to break free from my grip, but I was too strong. "Have you ever met a telepath before?" I felt his struggle increase and I just let out a dry chuckle. "Of course not." I then entered his mind and dug up everything I could find on him. I saw all of his memories. Everything. I let go and his body went limp. I could hear his ragged breathing. I stepped back. "They do breed you strong in America. That I will admit." I heard him wheeze and I unfolded my blindfold letting it fall to the ground.
"Fuck…you…mutant…piece…of…shit" He said between breaths and I just opened my eyes and looked at him. He turned to stone instantly and I smiled as I looked at his cold body.
"Another agent of shield. You would think that would give up by now." I pushed the statue of the spy on the floor and it crumbled into hundreds of pieces. I put back on my blindfold. "Another useless spy." I sighed and quickly unsheathed my sword and cut off the head of the man who disturbed me. The sound of shock that he uttered quickly died out and all was left was the thud of his head hitting the floor.
"A waste of fucking time." I wiped the blood off the katana and sheathed it. "Clean this up." I said to the other men around and I walked back to my painting room.
