Chapter 49 The Lizard Part 2/4

Arriving at the Oscorp Tower I walked into the building undisturbed passing by multiple employees who didn't notice anything unusual. This was all thanks to my stealth suit as I had free reign to go anywhere.

A part of me even wanted to check out their labs one more time for anything interesting but I had to shove that desire down. The Ganali device came first on my list of priorities.

While walking in the building I thought back to the last time I came here and noticed something strange. I never once saw the Ganali Device which is weird when I remember it being out in the open during the movie. However, this wouldn't be the first change I noticed considering how big the Lizard is now.

Thinking fast I figured that they must have it in another location or somewhere hidden in the building. Either way, the best place to find my answers would without a doubt be the data centers.

With that in mind, I made my way to the basement which had higher levels of security far surpassing the other rooms.

Hidden cameras and laser security were just some of the things I encountered. Each one was more annoying than the last and slowed me down as I deactivated them all one by one until I finally reached my goal.

The room was wide and far around the size of an underground parking structure. With multiple blocks the size of fridges carrying within them numerous amounts of information.

"Alright let's see just how good Oscorp security is" With a grin on my face I pulled out a laptop and wired it in and was quickly met with resistance.

The security was obviously nowhere near Spectre but it was without a doubt impressive for a company in the 21st century. Despite its ability to impress me, it eventually fell just like the rest of the security I faced on my way here.

"Checking… ah here it is. Experimental Technology Ganali Device. Looks like they really do have a hidden room in the building and it seems they have some other things in there as well." I said while scrolling to a particular page.

"Oscorp really does have some interesting toys" admiring the new technology. I knew it was stuff I could make on my own by buying knowledge but why would I do that when I can get it right now?

So I did just that and began transferring all the schematics and research notes to my servers for further study.

This was also a good chance for me to fix some of their known issues and transfer the fixed versions to Oscorp.

Now I wasn't doing this to be a nice guy and I especially didn't do this for Norman Osborn. Who in this universe has a high chance of being a jerk who murdered Peter's parents.

All of this was just to stop more villains from appearing but I would make sure Osborn gets his due later on.

Once the downloads were done I got the location of the Ganali device and had Spectre erase all my traces.

"Nice now I just need to break the device and everything should be fine."

BOOM!

The sound of an explosion suddenly ripped through the area as the building shook causing multiple cracks to appear on the walls and floor.

The shaking was so bad that I even stumbled and held onto one of the computers till it calmed down.

Regaining my balance I bolted straight for the exit. If that was who I think it was then I needed to hurry.

[POV Spider-Man]

"Yuck! Man, I am so going to shower after this. I can feel the guck somehow getting in between my toes through the suit!" I complained to no one in particular but it always felt good to just voice my thoughts.

"But seriously this is just gross and I've been checking these sewers for a week at this point. I really hope I'm right and Connors really is down here because if not then that means I wasted my time down- Wait what's that?" Looking further down the sewer line I saw droves and droves of lizards all heading in one direction. My tingle was even triggered when I looked towards the way they were heading.

"I got a bad feeling about this"

With some hesitation, I began crawling faster in that direction where the amount of lizards continued to grow. First, it was hundreds, and now it's definitely thousands but what really caught my attention was the light glow at the end of the tunnel.

Seeing the light ahead I activated my cloaking ability and crawled my way there on the ceiling. Until I eventually reached some sort of makeshift lab.

Dropping down I turned off the cloak and began inspecting the area which was littered with ripped notes and broken computer screens.

"Connor's what have you been up to…" I asked myself before turning on one of his computers which began playing a recording of Connor's.

[HAhAhaaHaaA I did it! I made the serum perfect. Now it should make the transformation not just permanent but stronger as well! And the answer was right in front of me this whole time.]

[I've been going all about the wrong way. Why should I merge the lizard DNA in balance? Do I want to be human? No humans are weak, pathetic, and feeble creatures… I just need to sacrifice that weakness]

"No Connors!" I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Was this really the same man who mentored me and helped me reconnect with my father through his work?

The serum had done so much harm to his mind and I needed to fix it. I resolved myself to find a cure as the video played on.

[And I'll share my gift with all of New York. The Ganali Device will finally have a purpose and it will bring with it Revolution.] After that statement Connors continued rambling on, sometimes making no sense but one thing was clear.

"This is so not good" Thinking about the Ganali Device I remembered it instantly as the machine Connors showed me. Apparently, it was developed by my father who built it for the purpose of spreading cures through the air but now it's going to be turned into a weapon.

"I need to get to Oscorp!" Turning back I quickly exited to sewers hoping I wasn't too late.
