Chapter 13: Armory of the Exchange Store

Garus reflected on his days in Azeroth.

In that world, aside from his time in the military, he was a lone wanderer. Only when summoned by the Knights of the Silver Hand did he report back to duty. Most of the time, he followed system-assigned quests, venturing into dangerous territories on his own.

Whether on the planet Azeroth or in Draenor, the threats were endless. He encountered Nerubians and burrowing worms that ambushed from underground, the colossal Gronn who hurled boulders with ease, and troll tribes adept at dark voodoo magic. Many of his adversaries defied conventional logic.

Thanks to the system's assistance, Garus managed to escape peril time and again.

But here, in the Marvel universe, the dangers were no less daunting. Skrulls, mutated humans, Celestials, mutants, Inhumans, and even the dark lord Dormammu—eager to invade this world—posed constant threats.

"System, what is this world's designation?" Garus asked suddenly.

"Earth-1111," the system responded.

It was an offhand question, but Garus hadn't expected the system to reply. Though unfamiliar with Earth-1111, he knew Earth-199999 was the primary Marvel Cinematic Universe, where all the events he knew took place.

This world, it seemed, differed from the Marvel universe he was familiar with. The specifics would only become clear over time.

Still, Garus was confident that, with the system's help, he could live a remarkable life here. He was determined not to repeat his past mistake of remaining a subordinate despite having the system's support.

While the system was invaluable—issuing quests, granting rewards, and enhancing his abilities—it also attracted most of the dangers he faced, forcing him into precarious situations.

A naturally solitary and somewhat lazy person, Garus had possessed the system for eleven years yet still didn't understand its purpose. Unable to figure it out, he chose not to dwell on it.

For now, Garus decided to open the Exchange Store to inspect the items available. If he were to establish a cutting-edge tech and military enterprise, he needed top-tier technology. The store might also have items to fortify his villa—a necessity to avoid coming home one day to find it destroyed or surrounded by enemies.

Unlike mages, death knights were not proficient in setting up defensive or alarm wards. Fortunately, the system store offered powerful guardians for home and business security, such as Arcane Golems and Arakkoa Annihilators. These magical constructs could unleash devastating attacks stronger than Iron Man's current suits, although they lacked flight capabilities and required pre-programmed commands for combat and defense, limiting their adaptability.

Arcane Golem: 5,000 exchange points. Created by the blood elves, these magical constructs are powered by arcane crystals and can unleash arcane energy attacks on enemies.

Arakkoa Annihilator: 6,000 exchange points. Crafted by the Arakkoa civilization, these battle constructs use Arakkoa crystals for power and emit scorching rays as their primary weapon.

Garus sighed. With only 6,000 points left, he couldn't afford to buy more than one magical construct. The system had assigned him two time-intensive tasks, making it difficult to accumulate more points quickly.

Pushing those thoughts aside, he focused on the current task: establishing his tech enterprise. After much deliberation, he decided to name the company Silver Hand Tech Group, in honor of the knightly order he once served.

The Exchange Store contained not only completed engineering marvels but also the technological knowledge of Azeroth's various races. However, these knowledge packs came with exorbitant price tags.

From the Forsaken's biochemical technology to the inventive engineering of goblins and gnomes, from the ethereals' eco-sphere tech to the Legion's planet-destroying battleships, and even the Naaru's warp drive technology—all of it was available for exchange.

The Forsaken's biochemistry far surpassed Oscorp's. Their Royal Apothecary Society's toxins were potent enough to harm even the Lich King. However, their techniques relied heavily on magic, making them incomprehensible to ordinary scientists—though perhaps Dr. Doom could unravel them.

Goblins' inventions, such as shrink rays, spatial rippers, and mind-control devices, represented cutting-edge technology in this world. The Burning Legion's tech, forged from countless conquered civilizations, was even more advanced.

If he could master these technologies, Garus believed his enterprise would surpass every other tech company in this world, fulfilling the system's mission. But for now, with limited points, these were mere dreams.

After careful consideration, Garus spent 3,000 points on a Static Aggregator, a device that extracts free-floating magical energy from the air and condenses it into mana stones of various elements—the essential power source for Azeroth's devices.

With his remaining 3,000 points, he exchanged for a Noise Generator and a Gnomish Lightning Generator, planning to hand them over to scientists recruited by Wilson Fisk for mass production.

The Noise Generator functioned as a sonic weapon. Though both his previous world and the Marvel universe had sonic weapons, this one was more portable and had adjustable attack ranges.

The Gnomish Lightning Generator allowed controlled energy output, discharging bolts of electricity at enemies within a range of ten meters. If these two devices could be replicated successfully, Garus stood to make a fortune and significantly boost his company's reputation.

Before resting, Garus relayed his decisions to Fisk via telepathic communication. With tight deadlines, he gave Fisk two days to prepare for his visit to the new company.

Two days later, at dawn, Garus arrived at Fisk's company headquarters, carrying the two newly acquired devices. He had already informed Fisk of his visit telepathically, ensuring the latter would be waiting for him.

As Garus entered the building, employees greeted him respectfully without any attempts to stop him. Perhaps the events of two days prior had left them wary, or maybe Fisk had given specific orders.

Before he reached the elevator, Wesker hurried over with a sycophantic smile. "Mr. Garus, Mr. Fisk is upstairs, meeting with a scientist. He's waiting for you."

"Noted," Garus replied flatly. Following Wesker, he arrived at Fisk's office door. Without knocking, he pushed it open and stepped inside.
