A transaction with Gods

"You're quick to catch on." She replied with her arms crossed under her breasts.

"The gods are unhappy with the outcome."

"So what now?"

"Wait for things to calm down and then we'll talk."

"And what about them?" I said and pointed to the gods waving at me.

One of them had a weird skin pack, white skin from head to toe. His face was indecipherable and the slippery mist around him gave me a bad feeling.

The other one had no body to begin with. He was literally a giant face surrounded by his white beard tangled into a hand shape in order to wave at me.

{I'm the god of our universe. Don't really have a name but some call me One above all}

"I'm a god from another world. Name's Hitogami."

They both introduced themselves, catching me a little off guard. While Hitogami spoke normally, the god of my current universe had a lot of pressure in his voice.

But it was not something I will get flustered by…

'My level rose.'

It was no longer a measly level 10 increment followed by ascension. The fight pushed me so far above my limits. I went up straight to level 99.

This however didn't occur like a dam breaking, it was more like water seeping into the bowl at a faster rate.

Even as we speak, my brain was assimilating with veritas. The larger my mind became, the higher my potential rose.

And this empty bowl of potential was filled to the brim with this fight.

"Pleasure to meet you two. My name is Andrew Rivers."

"Aren't you forgetting something Beardy?" Hitogami spoke after creeping up behind him, his grip on the old god's shoulder tightened as comical fire erupted behind him.

"Get used to it. Every god is attuned with their realm. What you see is a manifestation of their reality in a smaller scale." Brunhilde-san whispered to me, only to get dragged away by Alvitr. She seems peeved about letting other girls close to me.

"That's right. That's right. I played a part in it! A big part mind you!"

"I know Hitogami-san, and I sincerely thank you for your generosity." I bowed my head a little in repect before speaking.

"You too, OFA. Without your permission, I would've been unable to get this far."

I meant every word I spoke.

Although Hitogami was a god who often resorted to trickery, his goal was quite simple. Be the only living god and rule the world for eternity.

It might sound tyrannical to rob people of their free will, but it wasn't that different form the modern world.

They'd just be living under the illusion of free will. He didn't wish to wipe out humanity or force his religion on them. He just wanted to be the sole god with authority over them.

It was like getting a driving license and not driving the car unless an emergency occurred.

However, that wish will never come true if humanity is completely wiped out completely.

Hence he helped me out,

It was physically impossible to fit a quantum computer inside my head. It goes against causality, trying to brute force it will not only kill me, but also the gods who attempt it.

That is where Hitogami came in. He couldn't go against causality, but his world could influence it to some extent. The laws of his world were mostly similar to the others, save for one aspect.

Mana, or should we call it magic? The pure concept carried one attribute. It was able to bridge the connection between the two realms of plausibility. The very attribute was a key factor in his plan.

In layman's terms, magic was omnipotent in his world, provided you had enough of it.

If we digitalized the quantity of mana to 10, 5 is used to summon a fireball with sheer will alone. This implies that a blind man who never saw fire in his entire life, is able to expend half of his mana to summon something he has no image of.

But what if you know everything about fire? What it looks like, what temperature it is, what the dispersion rate is, down to the smallest detail.

The more knowledge you had about your task, the less mana it would require. So a genius would be able to summon the same fireball with 1 mana.

Hitogami used this loophole to fit a quantum computer using mana. This was only possible thanks to his ridiculous mana reserves. He brute forced the process and bypassed the constraints of causality.

One above all on the other hand, sent me to his universe so that I'd have enough opportunities to grow. The combined effort of both of these gods played a crucial part in my victory. Of course, they didn't do all this for free.

It was an investment. In exchange for power, I'd do them one favor.

"So what do you want?" I brushed off the pleasant mood and went straight to business.

"Geez, you're no fun."
