/"Is- that- all you got?/" I choked, squeezing out the last bit of breath that was left in my chest, grabbing the black-haired fallen's arms, in an attempt to free myself from his hold.

/"What a big mouth you have, Darling./"

/"I'm sure he couldn't talk with a dick in his mouth./" Lucifer's voice rang shockingly close to my ears... And soon I got to know the reason why -in form of another punch, hitting my side this time.

It wasn't hard to explain why I didn't catch him coming closer, though: my vision was blurred, and so the only things I could make out were Jude's fine features and the dancing figures on the wall, catching on fire from time to time.

I wasn't quite sure how, but I felt my right ear... burning after Lucifer's words were spoken right into it. It felt warm, somehow. Not necessarily in an unpleasant way.

/"Empty promises/" I tried to speak, but no sound escaped my benumbed mouth.
