I felt especially obstinate tonight -so I wasn't planning to let my grudges go.

I actually tried to be reasonable this time, by the way. Although my resentment came from a reasonable place, and I really knew it did, I considered letting my grudges go for the night, not ruining it with aimless arguing. After all, I was frustrated, but so was everyone else; why make it harder for each of us?
