Trick 12: Turning in an animal?!

A few hours later

Ace closed a book, sitting at a table in the library. He hummed to himself and muttered "Philosopher's Stone, eh? What a crazy world…" he turned to Bruce and sighed, holding him up, "What if I turn you into Gold, pal?"

Bruce blinked slowly at him, purring.

Ace put him down and said "Wow, so vulgar…" before turning to the stack of books and pulling the next one down. It was the 'Basics of Magic', Ace sipped on some coffee and started reading once more.

The next day

Ace was sitting in Minerva's class, leaning on her chair at her desk with his feet on the table. He was wearing a black and white suit with black and white Vans sneakers. His suit jacket was hanging on the chair behind him and his sleeves were rolled up as he read a book.

There was a cat on the desk just looking at him as the students were writing at their desks.

Ace yawned and looked up from the book as Harry and a red haired boy ran in, breathing heavily. They froze and looked at Ace, saying "Oh shit." Ace yawned "Language."

Harry looked around and asked "Where's Professor McGonagall?" Ace replied "I don't know, it's fine, she's not here yet, take your seats." The red haired boy let out a sigh of relief, saying "Thank Merlin! Could you imagine the look on old McGonagall's face if we were late?!"

After he finished speaking, the cat jumped off the table and turned into Minerva, staring at the boys, who gawked at her. Ace froze and stared at Minerva in shock as the red haired boy said "That was bloody brilliant, that was!"

Minerva replied "Thank you for the assessment, Mr. Weasley." as she turned to Ace, who said in shock "Holy fuck! You can turn into a cat?! No wonder!" Minerva rolled her eyes and said "Etiquette."

Ace took his feet off the table and looked at her in wonder as she started teaching the class.

After the class, Ace was walking next to Minerva, holding onto a stack of books as he said "How did you do that, Minerva? Is that a spell? Can you turn into a cat whenever? Do you cough up hairballs?"

Minerva rolled her eyes and asked "You haven't reached Animagus Magic in your studies?" Ace shook his head, looking at her as he replied "I only started reading yesterday. I've started on the basics while working my way up with some history and artifacts."

Minerva walked to a door and unlocked it as she explained, "The Animagus Spell is a spell that can turn the user into their inner animal. It is not certain that you will be a cat. There are many animals; Rabbits, Stags, Doe, etc."

Ace was stunned and Minerva walked into her office, continuing "The Animagus Wizard can change between forms at any moment." Ace asked with stars in his eyes, "Can it be like a Dragon, Phoenix, or even like a Cerberus?!"

Minerva chuckled to herself, "The most special transformation is Golden Eagle, however there have been rumors of a Wampus Cat." Ace put down the books and scratched his head, "Wampus Cat? What is that?"

Minerva raised a brow, asking "You don't have those in the Muggle World?" Ace rolled his eyes, retorting "I don't know everything!" Minerva paused for a minute before shaking her head with a smile, "I see. A Wampus Cat is a Mountain Lion with 6 Legs."

Ace nodded and sat down, grabbing a new book, saying "Oh. Anyway, how does one use this Animagus Spell?" Minerva looked at him, saying warningly "This spell is very dangerous! It requires you to be registered by the Ministry of Magic."

Ace tilted his head and retorted "But how am I supposed to register with the Ministry? I want to become an animal, that's so cool!" Minerva rolled her eyes and sat down, saying "No." Ace pouted and muttered "I'll do it myself then, jeez…"

Minerva looked at him, saying "You will not." Ace nodded and replied "Oh yeah, no way.. Not me!" as he continued reading…

A while later

Ace was researching with Minerva when suddenly, Harry appeared outside the window on a broom.

Ace stared at him and Minerva said "Oh my!" before getting up and leaving the room. Ace was confused but looked around in the office. He paused and looked at a little bookshelf, he looked at the door before walking over to the bookshelf and going through books quickly, muttering "Animagus, animagus, animagus… Here!"

He picked out a book and flipped open the pages, quickly reading it before Minerva came back.

Another while later

Ace was sitting on the chair, reading another book as Minerva came back and sat down. Ace sighed and asked "Is there something to read these books faster?" Minerva looked at him for a moment before pursing her lips, replying "There is something similar."

Ace tilted his head and she took out a necklace with an extra long chain and an hourglass as a pendant, "This is a Time Turner. It enables you to turn back time and exist in parallel to your past self." Ace's eyes widened and he said "What?! No way!"

Minerva narrowed her eyes at him, saying "I will lend you this, however! You must spend some of your extra time researching with me." Ace replied instantly, "I agree! Of course I agree! Why didn't you say so sooner, Minerva! Damn!" as he held the Time Turner gently, his eyes sparkling with little stars.

Minerva curled her lips and said "Enjoy." Ace was bubbling with excitement, completely forgetting that he was here to dig up the Eye…
