Catching Up

The next morning I wake up to familiar tapping at my window. I go and see my bird friends are here to help me get ready.

But because I'm not attending classes today, I get dressed in an outfit they pick for me.

It's made up of a huge, baggy, dark green, zipperless hoodie and black leggings with my old silver sneakers.

They style my hair in a messy braid with shamrocks weaved in. They even place a crown made out of beautiful silver flowers on my head.

And all over my room are flowers they brought in. I grab my bag and put the flowers inside it into a vase of water. I check if I have everything then head to breakfast, Yuki following me in her adult form.

We enter the Grand Hall and I sit next to Kelly, who's working on something.

"Hey, what you working on," I ask, taking a bite of toast.

"Oh hey Mahō, just working on some of my History of Magic homework," he smiles, looking at me.

"What time period are you learning about," I question. "Maybe I read about it."

"Oh~, it's on the Feudal Era, we're learning currently about the Great Orc Civil War," he explains. "It started when the Dark Orcs attacked the White Orcs."

"Yeah, I remember reading something about that," I nod, thinking. "Didn't Merlin side with the White Orcs which helped them defeat the Dark Orcs at the battle of Morma."

"Yeah, that's right, but how did you know that," Kelly asks.

"Malfoy, he had me read a bunch of books and learn a bunch of spells that I'm already a third of the way caught up with you guys," I replied, happily. "And he explained all the stuff I didn't understand. We're going to meet up after breakfast today and head to the library."

"So he is helping you, but what will you do while he's in class," Wolly asks.

"Oh, I have paperwork to do while he's gone, and after we eat lunch he's going to check my work," I beam, I explain to them my schedule when James takes a moment to look me over.

"Mahō! What up with you, why are you wearing Slytherin colors," James erupts, just as Lily and Rose walk over.

"It was probably her feathered friends who chose her outfit," Rose sighs, sitting down next to me. "I went an visited her room and it was completely covered in flowers and the window was open with them bringing in even more!"

"Wow, they must really like you Mahō," Wolly giggles, pulling a flower out of Rose's hair. "They certainly have you covered."

"Not funny Wolly, Rose and I already pulled a Dozen out of my hair on the way here," Rose complains.

"I'm sorry, I'll ask them not to do it again," I apologize, eating my egg quickly. "Well sorry guys, I got to get it the library."

"It's okay go ahead," Lily nods, and I head out.

I find Liam at the same table as last night, reading a book.

"Good morning Malfoy," I smile, he looks away from his book and looks me over, quickly turning away for some reason. "Let's get start!"

I sit down and he hands me another stack of large books.

"Read these while I'm in class and we'll discuss it after lunch," he explains, I agree and he leaves.

I start right away, most of the books are on the History of Magic and Divination. I work on it until lunch and head to the cafeteria(Grand Hall).

I sit in between Kelly and Lily, Yuki jumps onto my lap in her puppy form and eyes my chicken pot pie.

"No Yuki, that's for me, you have just plain chicken," I tell her, moving her plate closer to her. She jumps onto the table and starts eating.

"So how was reading all those books," Rose asks, taking a sip of her drink. "I mean you were stuck in the library for so long, didn't you get bored?"

"Nope, I found it all very interesting," I smile, taking a bite of my pie. "Malfoy has great taste in books."

"Wait, you're actually getting help from him," Remus gasps. "I thought you guys were just kidding about that. But he's really helping you!"

"Yup, an I have to finish this quickly so we can meet up at the library to go over what I read," I explain, gobbling down my chicken pot pie. "I should probably be going now. See you guys at dinner!"

I pick Yuki up off the table and race to the library. Liam's there at our table working on something.

"What you working on Malfoy," I ask, sitting across from him.

"Just some homework, are you ready to go over your work," he asks, an I nod, I set Yuki down on the table and we begin.

We work until he has to go to class and I start working on a few new spells he taught me. And I take the tests and Quizzes Pr. McPixy gave me to catch up.

Right before dinner he comes and checks on me and concludes that I'm officially caught up with the other 2nd years.

And so we head to the Grand Hall separately, because I had to return all the books I borrowed.

I sit inbetween James and Wolly and Yuki, in her puppy form, jump up onto the table. We talk for a bit when an owl comes and drops off a paper for me. I look it over and it's my new schedule.

"What's your first class," Remus asks.

"My first class is History of Magic," I smile, finishing my dinner. "What about you guys?"

"I have that, too," Lily, from the other table, and Kelly reply.

"Oh man, I have Potions," Wolly pouts, James, Remus, and Rose giggle.

"That's okay, we still have breakfast, lunch, and dinner to chat," I giggle, yawning. "Wow I must be tired, I better head in. Night guys."

"Wait let me come with you," Rose stands up, along with me. "It's better to go in pairs."

"Okay," I agree, picking up Yuki. So we head back to the house lounge and she drops me off at my room and goes to her's. I get ready to go to the bathroom.

I head to the girl's bathroom and take a bath. I dry off and change, brush my teeth, then head back to my room.

I brush my hair and go to bed, passing out as soon as my head hit my pillow.

The next morning, my bird friends come to visit me again. This time I ask them not to bring in so many flowers.

They help me get dressed in my uniform and do my hair. They make a few small braids and pull them all into a high ponytail with a bunch of red roses.

I wake up Yuki and she goes into her adult form and I grab my messenger bag.

We meet up with Rose and all walk together to the grand hall and sit with the others.

"Good morning girls did you sleep well," Kelly greets, smiling.

"Yeah I slept like a rock," I giggle, taking a sip of milk. "What about you guys?"

"Pretty well, the earmuffs blocked out most of the sound," James replies. "Thanks for the suggestion Mahō."

"You're welcome, James," I smile, eating a bit of egg. "I can't wait to start classes with some of you guys!"

"Yeah, I can't wait," Lily beams. We talk until we have to head to class and I walk with Lily, Kelly, and Yuki to the History room.

We sit together and Pr. Cromwell starts class. He talks about what happened after the Great Orc Civil War.

After giving out homework, we leave and I head to my next class.

My classes go by smoothly and I give each teacher my tests and quizzes, it's lunchtime. We head to the Grand Hall and I sit next to Remus.

"How were your morning classes," he asks as I chomp down on my lunch.

"It went by nicely, all that work really played off," I reply, devouring my lunch and finishing my drink. "How did your gig go?"

"Really well, I'm surprised you remembered," he laughs. "It was a few months ago,"

"Well, I love Rock so everything related to it I remember," I giggle. "But that's good to hear."

After talking a bit more I head to my afternoon classes. They both go by pretty quickly and it's already dinner.

Yuki and I head to the cafeteria and sit with my friends. We talk and laugh, then it's time to go I head to the library.

I do my homework and start reading the book Professor McWeasal let me barrow.

Then I make a stop at my room and grab my stuff for a shower. I go to the girl's bathroom and undo my hair. I keep all the roses and put them in my shower bag.

I take a nice long shower and do all my feminine stuff. I dry off and comb my wet hair, brush my teeth. A get dressed in my PJs.

I head back to my room, loosely braid my hair and go to bed.
