Adolph was struck dumb.
Barbara sneered, "Go treat yourself!" After that, she turned around, walking away.
When she was back in the ward, there was only Fannie left alone there.
"Mrs. Parker, are you alright?" Fannie asked with concern seeing Barbara's red swollen eyes.
"I'm fine. Where is Nate?" Barbara said.
"Oh, a nurse just came over and told him to change his dressing." Fannie poured a glass of water for Barbara. "Mrs. Parker, Ethan..."
Barbara sat at the bedside. She held the glass of water with one hand and held Ethan's hand with another. "He's unwilling to let it go."
No one who had been through that could let it go.
His wife was abducted away, and his babies were aborted. Most importantly, Kylie was still missing, and she could be in danger now.
Fannie licked her lips and asked in a quiet voice, "Mrs. Parker, can I talk to Ethan for a while?"
"Sure." Barbara nodded.
