Reunion!

It's been 8 months since the knight incident happened. Subaru only went school once in a week and sometime skipped that too, once he started formulating his new experimens related to time theories. Forging himself in the time and space paradox, he developed various spells which he could had never imagined if it was not for the guide Theo prepared , time after time for him. Theo never asked Subaru anything in return which made Subaru doubt on his motives but shrugged it off for later.

Spatial storage, pocket dimension and Regression were his three major discoveries which only he knew about. He barely hanged out with Theo or anyone else as he barely got free time. Keeping himself fit and practicing mana manipulation also took a lot of his time so he spent he stayed indoors all the time basically . In this eight months, his relation with Fubuki developed smoothly from normal kissing to cuddling and skin ship but they never crossed the line because of a mutual understanding. Fubuki never asked him and he never told her why he wasn't ready.

Apart from that, he went to dates as promised with Ririka once in a month. The dates always varied at different places but they only did was to talk from morning to night with normal flirting, nothing else. Ririka didn't asked more than what she was getting, as a determination inside her built up after she got attacked by Yuno. She resolved herself that if she wanted something more from Subaru then she had to be worthy for him first . Ririka didn't told Subaru about the attack as she never wanted Yuno to meet Subaru at any condition. Yuno also didn't came in contact with Subaru not even once in these 8 months . Subaru already had forgot that Yuno exist in this world as he only met her once and more to that it happened about 3 years ago .

Subaru had stored the captured pawn in the pocket dimension where he could store anything whether living or not.The pocket dimension is place where time doesn't work normally and it's complexion was so tough that Subaru nearly lost his mind while making it. He wasn't able to figure out about the helmet and the weird pattern and because the lack of time, he left that part for later period. He was now more focused on refreshing his combat experiences and physical training as in two months , the entrance exam of Hunter's school was going to happen.

It was December 27 today, Subaru's 16th birthday. The outside was covered with snow and silence. No one celebrated Christmas outside of their home but still some buildings were decorated on the occasion. Ever year , Sasha decorated the whole house with different lights and decorative items. She always took leave from her work on his birthday and prepared various dishes since early in the morning. Humming all day happily , she made everything according to the liking of her beloved son and always made sure to fulfill whatever Subaru wished.

'I wish, you just wake up mom". Sitting in front of Sasha , Subaru said in a heavy tone.

On every birthday she asked him whatever gift he wanted with a cheerful and beautiful smile on her face but on this birthday , Subaru wished without her asking and this wish of his was the most desperate of all the time.

Subaru slowly caressed her cheek which were still smooth and soft even she was laying on the bed since 8 months. Her beautiful big eyes in which Subaru often stared were now close peacefully. Her beautiful soft lips which Subaru only kissed twice were twitching right now..

'Hmmm!! ' He saw her lips moving slowly.

His heart started thumping all of a sudden with eyes wide open in anxiousness. He stood up and moved his ear very close to her mouth in order to listen what she was trying to say.

" Ha... p..... bi.. ay... Baby". He was only able to hear 'baby' perfectly in the end before a small warm drop from Subaru's eyes fell on Sasha's face. Her voice melted his heart and before he knew , tears continuously started filling in his eyes .

"Thank You mom".

Sasha woke up after 2 days, totally fine like she was just sleeping normally. However it took her time to readjust like before and took another couple of hours to cope with what had happened after she drifted in coma. Her facial expressions changed continuously from scared , to angered and lastly she started sobbing loudly as she heard how Subaru was living alone for this long time.

"Baby I am really sorry bwaaahhhhh". Her crying rate only increased before Subaru hugged her tightly.

"It's okay mom. You did great at that time . It was my weakness and foolishness that I wasn't able to protect you. But not anymore". As he said his eyes took the same colour as Sasha's with three tomoes in place of pupils.

"Mm? Baby your eyes?" She asked as she saw his reflection in the mirror opposite to them.

"Ah it's nothing just power up. Anyway I will cook something good. I have become master chef in these months without you. You won't believe how many new dishes I have learnt". Subaru said after separating himself from Sasha and standing up from the couch.

"No you relax baby. I will make something". She tried to stand up but Subaru grabbed her shoulder and pushed her lightly to make her sit back.

"No mom you are still in rehab period. So be a good girl and listen to me". Subaru pecked on her lips before walking out of the room.

Sasha's face went red immediately with eyes going wide in surprise. She touched her lips to feel the warmth Subaru left on them.

"Did I really woke up ?"

"Are you really sure you don't want to get a check up in the hospital?" Fubuki came home in the evening as I told her about mom today .

I knew she would dash immediately here that's why I waited two days before informing her. They were sitting on the couch while Fubuki was hugging mom constantly since she arrived with tears in her eyes.

"Yeah , i am fine Fubuki . Baby is taking care of me ". Mom seperated herself from Fubuki and wiped her tears with her sweater.

"By the way are you in a relationship or something. Your bust seems to have gotten bigger".mom lightly groped Fubuki's breast which seemed really lewd .

*Fwoo**cough*cough* i suddenly sprayed all the juice I had sipped on the table when I heard mom.

"What happened baby ? Are you okay?"

"Yeah mom. I will clean myself , you guys talk". I stood up and after glancing at the blushing Fubuki, rushed back into my room to change my clothes.

"I should hurry bef-"

" FUBUKKKKIII YOU BITCHHH". I heard mom's scream all of sudden from the living room. I ran hastily toward them and saw mom throwing fireballs at Fubuki who was dodging them easily with her physckokinesis. Mom was hanging half feet in the air as it seemed that she tried to claw Fubuki's face and Fubuki just casually lifted her with her powers.

Mom's mana level was still not completely fine so her fire balls size were like a baseballs which Fubuki could dodge all night.

"You laid your hands on my baby. EVEN I WARNED YOU BEFORE". Her scream became fiercer with her temperature rising .

I dashed toward her and hugged her from behind. Fubuki took back her psyckonesis from mom , making her completely fallen in my embrace.

"Mom please relax for a bit. You still haven't recovered completely".

" But baby this bit-"

" Mom I was the one who started this. So don't blame her".

" Ehhhh? Yo-you do-dont like me anymore baby? " She turned her head toward me or tried to, with large drop of tears started forming in her eyes.

" It's not that like that mom. You know that no one could take your place in my life so don't worry . ". It took an hour for me and Fubuki to explain everything and made her calm down. Fubuki clearly told her that we haven't crossed the line or mom might have literally killed her today.

"So Subaru , are you prepared for the test?" After everything calmed down Fubuki asked Subaru who was still bear hugging Sasha.

"Yeah almost. How about Theo. Last time he called me to ask about training schedule and stuff". Subaru was patting Sasha's back continuously but she was reluctant to separate herself from him.

"Ah.. yeah he also started physical training even i told him that he could apply for technical department . Anyway , have you decided what will you take as primary course?" Fubuki asked as a month ago Subaru was still confused which course he should take primary and what should he keep in the secondary. He was an unbelievable mage no doubt but Subaru wanted to choose that field as primary which he wanted to improve further.

"Weapons and combat".
