He Yan

Editor: Exodus Tales

He Yan? Passed out in the forest?

Very quickly, Wen Xi began to realize that she was not dreaming; she was where she had been four years ago.

But there was no He Yan in the story; she had escaped all by herself.

While Wen Xi was lost in thought, the nurse had gone to find her a doctor.

By the time a female doctor walked in, Wen Xi had already adapted herself to the current situation.

Wen Xi refused the physical examination, and got out of the bed. "I'm fine. Can you take me to your team leader?" She asked.

The doctor looked puzzled, and asker her "What do you want him to do?"

"I'm also a doctor, and I know of an effective vaccine for the ZH virus."

Wen Xi was not bragging. Before the doctor came in, she had recalled her memories of her previous life. She remembered that the town of Weihai was the birthplace of the ZH virus, and an official medical team was sent to keep the virus under control, but the vaccine for the virus had not been developed for another nine months.

Wen Xi had made great achievements in medicine in her previous life, and on top of that she had also studied this incident with her teacher carefully. Having been well informed about the disease, she was confident.

Giving a tight lipped smile, the doctor guides her back to the bed.

"Your name is...?"

"Wen Xi."

"Miss Wen, it's the doctors' responsibility to find a cure for the disease. Now that you are a patient, it's best you take care of your wounds first before worrying about other things. And, by the way, is there any way to contact your family? Let me know so that I can ask them to pick you up. It's still dangerous here, and you might get sick."

The doctor didn't seem to believe her at all, so she asked for a pen and paper to write down the vaccine research and development scheme that she remembered writing countless times in her previous life.

When she had finished, Wen Xi handed it to the doctor. "Can I see him now?"

The female doctor nodded, handing Wen Xi a mask and a pair of gloves before letting her out.

It was still foggy outside, and although it was not as bad as the forest, it was still difficult to see ahead.

Every now and again, Wen Xi would come across a nurse carrying a stretcher with a patient who was crying out in pain.

After entering the body, the ZH virus would numb the senses, and cause people to harm themselves. Although victims would still be conscious for about half an hour, they would eventually be in such excruciating pain that death would be a welcome end.

"Help over here! Ten more patients!" Someone yelled urgently, as people carrying stretchers with crying patients rushed into the temporary operating room.

Due to the sudden emergency, the doctor handed the vaccine recipe back to Wen Xi and pointed her to a farmhouse. "He's in there. Go talk to him. I need to perform surgery now!"

The nurse was then rushed away, to people calling for help from every which way. There were nurses were running back and forth between the houses; they were obviously understaffed.

Wen Xi hurried to the farmhouse, and pulled open the curtain to the inner room, to find that there was another surgeon operating. The surgeon, who had his back to Wen Xi, stood tall, with a straight posture.

He Yan, the son of a military chief. Having won plenty of awards and being honored many times in the field of medicine at the young age of 22, he had become somewhat of a legend. His remarkable family, coupled with his outstanding abilities and good-looks, made him well-known nationally and internationally.

In her previous life, she and He Yan had met several times, but that had been it —- They had never actually talked to each other. Wen Xi was unsure if he had noticed her yet, but just watching, she was impressed by him.

"Hemostat." He said in a deep voice.

However, it seemed to go unheard by the nurse next to him. Her swollen eyes made it obvious that she had been deprived of sleep for several nights, and she was barely able to keep them open.

Wen Xi quickly picked up the instrument and handed it to He Yan, who was too focused on the surgery at hand to notice the change.
