Transaction Error

"Huh? When the heck did I make this transaction? This card is...Isn't this the joint account that Hawk and I have together? So weird. Let me check my bank transaction summary." She quickly opened her bank app on her phone and logged in.

Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw many previous transactions having a purchased item. The shocking part of this is not the items that were bought because she remembered being the one who bought it. The most shocking part of this was the fact that these items were returned and the money was then withdrawn out of the account.

Behind her, the sound of the bathroom door squeaking open startled her slightly. Suddenly, Hawk wrapped his arms around her from behind. He bit her right ear lobe lightly and whispered into her ears. He took her phone and scrolled down to multiple transactions, which were all expensive products. "Baby, this is how they normally look like. For joint accounts, there is something weird whenever purchases are made. These brand stores charge first and because the bank isn't sure who made the transaction, it'll appear to look as if it was returned. In fact, these so-called withdrawals are charging for the purchased amount."

It sounded convincing, yet suspicious at the same time. Meng Meng crossed her arms and questioned whether those words were the truth because she had never looked at her own bank statements. When she had a joint credit card with her parents, she just used whatever amount she wanted and her parents cleared up her bill.

"Really?" She asked, observing for any signs of lying on his face.

Smiling, he nodded. "If you don't trust me enough, I can show you all the items you bought me. How could I ever return your items and why would I even withdraw cash?"

She rubbed her chin for a few minutes. After thinking how he was from the Fu family and they had more money than her family. Meng Meng decided to trust his words because there is no reason for him to withdraw the money.

"Okay, I trust you. There is no reason for you to withdraw more when you have more than me. Plus, you bought me items as well." She pointed to the closet full of luxury clothes.

"Exactly, silly goose. This is the bank's fault. Come on, go wash up and we will head downstairs. We haven't eaten anything yet. I'm afraid you'll be hungry." He gently held her shoulders and pushed her toward the restroom.

Soon, the water started running in the restroom and the smile on his face disappeared. He wiped the sweat off his forehead and deleted the text message on her phone. Ever since they've started dating, Meng Meng had spent a fortune on him. Every time those items were returned, he would have his mother withdraw money from the bank.

To avoid suspicion, he would order one of the top brand imitators to create the product he just bought. Compared to the original cost, the artificial product looked very close to the real one. Hence, he had every single item in his apartment to show her if she ever asked to see him wear it.
