Giving Her a Makeover

The following morning, Lily received a message from Sofia telling her about her new schedule. Originally, she had a commercial advertisement job in the afternoon. The assistant had accidentally booked the studio under the wrong date. Therefore, Lily was free for the rest of the day.

The assistant personally apologized for the inconvenience she had caused while worrying about Lily taking this incident against the company. On the other hand, Lily understood the assistant had made mistakes in communicating with others. Since the assistant had already apologized and the date was corrected, Lily accepted the arrangements.

Lily spoke to the assistant over the phone, "It's fine. I accept your apology, but do double check next time. I have some business to attend to, so contact my manager if there are other inquiries. Thanks. Bye."

Hanging up the call, Lily slouched on her couch with a cushion on her stomach. After pondering a bit, she decided to change into casual clothes and give Lin Que a surprise visit. Ever since their last date, they've been too busy with work. They only spoke through WeChat and FaceTime when they had spare time.

Ginny woke up when Lily was on the phone with her manager and assistant. As Lily walked past the bathroom, the door opened and Ginny walked out. Stretching both arms out, Ginny hugged Lily from behind and rested her chin on her shoulders.

"Lily~ My darling..I thought you had work today." She sounded whiny as her body dragged across the hall, following Lily to her room.

"My work was postponed. I'm about to change into a different outfit and pay Lin Que a visit. Shouldn't you be getting ready for your date?" Lily loosened the arms around her shoulders and pulled Ginny to her closet.

"I don't know what to wear." Ginny pursed her lips with a puppy look. If her eyes could summon small stars, then a road of stars would have drowned Lily already.

"Alright. How about something loose as the top, like this oversized shirt? As for bottoms, these high waisted shorts would match with the shirt. Pretty cute match with your sneakers." Lily took less than a minute to help her decide on which clothes to wear. When Ginny saw how confident Lily was with tossing the two pieces of clothing towards her, she was amazed.

"If you ever quit the entertainment industry, you can be a fashion designer..." Ginny placed the clothes to the side and started unbuttoning her pajamas. Meanwhile, Lily was poking her lips with her index finger, thinking about what she should wear for the day.

Scanning through her outfits, Lily settled with a layered skirt and long sleeved off shoulder top. After both of them finished changing, Ginny did her skin care routine, stared into the mirror and pointed at her uneven eyebrows. She always disliked trimming her brows because she knew her hands would make it look worse. Looking at her friend's worried expression and how she tried covering her brows using her fringe; Lily laughed.

"Come here. I'll help you reshape your brows and fill them in." Lily waved her fingers and had Ginny sit in front of the dresser. Holding a tweezer in one hand and trimmer in the other, she asked, "Do you want it plucked or shaved?"

"Shaved. I can imagine my poor tears coming out already from seeing that tweezer in your hand." Lily dropped the tweezer into her drawer and started clearing unnecessary brow hair. Within five minutes, Lily finished shaping and filling in the brows for her.

"Take a look." Holding the mirror to her face, Lily patted Ginny's shoulder to let her know she could open her eyes. Blinking a few times in disbelief, Ginny continued touching her face.

"Wow. My brows look so natural! Much better than before! I look livelier." Ginny took the hand mirror from Lily's hand and started rotating around the room to look at the brows.

"Ginny, brows and lips make a huge difference for girls. Since I've done your brows already, we should start on your lips." Taking a lip balm, lip tint and Q-tip from her dresser, she made Ginny sit down again. This time, she gently exfoliated Ginny's lips, getting rid of her dead skin. After that, she applied a layer of lip balm to moisturize the lips, making it glossy and soft.

"Final step. Part your lips." Lily smiled as she dipped three dots of her rose colored lip tint to the center of Ginny's lips. Using one side of the Q-tip, she started blending the lip tint outwards. Lifting Ginny's face to check for any brow hair stuck to her skin, she felt satisfied with her work. Lily thought of how lucky Alan was to go on a date with this beauty.

"It's done. Do you want me to tie your hair too? You look very very cute." Ginny looked into the mirror with widened eyes. She couldn't believe everything was done within twenty minutes. It was a whole new her that she had never met before.

"You can do whatever you want to me, and I wouldn't say no." Ginny looked up with a proud expression at Lily's smiling face. Spraying heat protectant spray to Ginny's hair, Lily curled the tips of her hair and random strands of hair to add volume to the hairstyle. A half updo was easily created and tied.

"Da, da, da, dun~ Beautiful!" Lily unplugged the curler from the wall. Seeing Ginny's smile from a simple makeover made her heart bubble in excitement. With the level of confidence she has now, it should be enough encouragement for her to make the first move. If not, then hopefully Alan would.

"Thank you, Lily~ Muahhhh Muahhh" She blew flying smooches towards Lily's direction. In a hand catching gesture, Lily snatched the invisible kisses and patted her chest.

"Payment received. Time for me to work on myself. Hehe, it'll take me fifteen minutes. If you need to leave, then don't wait for me." Lily picked up the hand mirror and started drawing her brows. Watching from the side, Ginny felt amazed by how little products were needed to make such a big difference.

"Lily, you're too incredible." She almost applauded at Lily's cosmetic skills.

"Are you falling for me?" Lily teased as she moved on to applying lip balm to her lips.

"No, because my heart has been yours to begin with. I'm only falling deeper. Hahahahhaa, if I said this in front of Lin Que, I'll be dead under his surgeon knives!" Ginny imagined herself tied to a spinning wheel with Lin Que using her as the dart board.

It was such a scary thought...

While the girls were almost ready, Lin Que was on the phone with Alan, who was worrying about how he should act during the upcoming date. Lin Que was rubbing his temples...

Alan: "Are you still listening?"

Lin Que: "Yes...."

At this moment, Lin Que's brain was shouting, 'If you weren't my best friend, then I would've hung up long ago.. Who told you to try chasing after my girlfriend's best friend?'
