The test 1

Asher and his mum proceeded to go inside the building. When they got in, they were directed to a massive and spacious room.

A massive silver-colored 'E' statue stood at the center of the room. It was probably to signify the e in elite. Multiple large screens were on the wall of the room.

The room was filled to the brim with people, the chatter filled the air. Asher looked around and found the registration point.

"Mum I'm going to go register, you can wait for me here," Asher said.

"OK then. "

Asher went to the desk that was set in the spacious room for registrations, joining the cue.

Some minutes later, he was at the front of the line. The young man who sat there behind a computer began asking Asher for his basic information.

"Name?"

"Asher Terron."

"Age?"

"16"

"Date of birth?"

"26th of November 2207"

"Do you have any sort of verified identification on you? "

"Yes, I do." Asher pulled out his alliance identity card and passed it to the man. The man took it and using a small machine scanned it. When he was done he handed back it to Asher.

He then printed a piece of paper and gave it to Asher. Asher took a look at the paper, on the top of it was written Section C Elite Test.

The section was the one he was living in, there were five sections in total. A, B, C, D, E. Based on the alphabet.

Section A was the prime of the alliance, it was the head of everything. You would have to be firstly very rich and then have a political position to live in section A. Also, you could be a General in the alliance. These were the criteria for living in section A.

In section A, technology was far advanced compared to the rest. The technology there is years ahead of that in other sections.

Section B is the second in line, as the rich of society live there. Well-to-do people. The technology was advanced but not as much as that of Section A.

Asher was born and brought up in section C. This section was filled with mid-class individuals, they were not extravagant, but they were not poor.

As for the remaining two sections, the situation degraded till section E, where the poor and devastated live.

Nobody understood why the society had to separate like this, but the alliance provided everyone with protection from the beasts, so nobody questioned it.

Within each section, there exist smaller states and a capital for each section. The Section C headquarters was located in the capital, which is also where Asher lived. That Is the reason the drive had only taken some minutes.

Asher went through the rest of the paper, it was just his information and his assigned number, he was number 762.

Asher went over to his mum, they both found a place to wait. The test would not begin until everybody was registered.

More and more people got registered, soon about two hours later everybody was registered. The screens in the room lit up immediately after the registration was complete, showing a man in a black suit.

"Good day to all of you." The man on the screen spoke. "Today we will be kicking off the once-a-year elite test."

Asher mulled over those words, had he found his father's letter later than he did, he might have had to wait till next year to take the test. Though the test had an age limit of 18 and he was 16, so he could take it next year, but he was grateful it was this year. Had he stayed any longer without finding the letter, catching up would have been much more difficult.

"Now before I proceed to talk about the rules and the test details, would like to tell you that there are exactly one thousand and twenty of you here in this room, who have registered for the test. An outstanding number indeed."

The man looked around, obviously, he had a way of looking at the people in the room from where he was. "But the quota for the elite program is two hundred of you."

Nobody reacted when they heard what the man had said, as this was common knowledge that could be found on the net.

"Now let me move on, the rules of each test will be explained to you before the test begins."

He stopped for a brief moment, before proceeding.

"There are two doors, one is for those that are here to watch and not participate, and the next is for those that have registered for the test. Now you may all proceed through your proper door."

As he finished, the screen went off. People began moving to the doors, one had a sign showing the word registered on it. So everybody knew where they were to go.

"Be careful Asher." Asher's mum said.

"Mum, I will, I promised to not do anything reckless right?"

His mum nodded, "You can do something a bit reckless if it will let you pass ok? But not anything over the board."

"Ok mum, I will try to be careful."

"Also remember that you awakened late, so if you can't make it then don't overdo it, there is still next year."

" Mum, don't worry, I will make it."

" Don't tell me not to worry, I own you so I will worry all I want." His mum said while standing on her toes to ruffle his hair. Asher was above average height, he was a full head taller than his mum.

"Ok, mum." Saying that he headed for the door. His mother went the other way to the second door.

Once he passed the door, he was greeted by another spacious room, one side of the walls of the room was made of glass. There were seats arranged like that of a stadium behind the glass wall. The people who were here to watch entered the room behind the glass wall and sat there to watch

A large machine stood in the middle, it was a cylindrical tube with a metallic base and head. Large wires connected to the head of the tube from the ceiling.

As everybody walked in, a door on the opposite side slid open. A woman and a man in a black elite uniform stepped in. "Good day everyone, and welcome to the first test. The first filtering." The woman said as soon as she came in.

The room had been noisy, but the noise died down as soon as everyone noticed the two people come in.

"The first test is the aptitude test, where we will check if your genetic ability is strong enough for the elite program. If you fail, then this will be the end of the test for you." The woman looked around the room for a brief moment.

" Now let's proceed to explain the test in detail and the criteria to pass."
