Arianna couldn't believe she kissed the preacher's daughter and she would do it again because she hadn't felt a spark like that in so long. It felt like their whole world had taken a turn once more this time neither of them said a word.
"Arianna, Kassidy it is time for dinner." Lisa called upstairs.
They both looked startled realizing that they have to pretend this didn't happen as much as her own mother has with Pastor Jamal. It became a mess in their lives. She needed to speak to her mother and go back to Michigan before she got caught up with Kassidy and their shared emotions, she couldn't do this not with Jamal being attracted to her mom too. It took both girls a few more moments to calm themselves before heading downstairs.

Kassidy followed Arianna downstairs this time they didn't hold hands or anything after experiencing an amazing kiss that hasn't left her thought. Reaching the dining room, she saw her father and Arianna's mom chatting it up. Kassidy knew the time would come that Lisa would be her new mom because of the way her father looked at Lisa.
"Ah, their is my beautiful daughter." Jamal said with his voice booming in the dining area.
"Hi dad. Are we ever going to go home? I miss my room. Not that I don't mind spending time with the Kirkland's but I miss our home and I feel home sick." Kassidy replied in a whiny voice.
"Now that won't be necessary, I will be selling our home and you will be staying here with Lisa and Arianna. My church is more important than being in your life." Jamal responded.
"Wait, what? Dad, no! That is my home with mom's memories there. You can't leave me here with this new family who hasn't been here that long." Kassidy pleaded with tears streaming down her face.
"Kassidy, I won't hear any more of this. You will be staying here. I can't raise you, I can't keep you by yourself, and I won't let you be with any other family. End of discussion, now let's enjoy dinner with Lisa and Arianna." Jamal responded while shuffling food in his mouth and Lisa mouthed sorry to Kassidy.
Kassidy and Arianna sat down next to one another then slowly ate their dinner. Both felt silence was much needed that even Lisa didn't say a word. Kassidy couldn't believe that her dad had just let her go to another family without any warning besides staying over every day without going home to where the pictures of her mom would be at. She needed to go back to get her stuff if that was the case but her dad made no time for anything.
"Dad, I have to go back home and get things if I am living here from now on." Arianna spoke up that it startled everyone around her.
"My next day off you can, which will be on Tuesday or Thursday depending on the weather and your school schedule. I have to head back to the church. See you ladies later." Jamal got up, wiped his mouth, took a drink of his water, and then kissed Lisa in front of the girls.
Kassidy looked over at Arianna seeing that she rolled her eyes hating this just as much as she did. Her world is flipped upside down and this is what her father has to show for it. Watching Lisa giggle between their shared kisses, pissing Kassidy off enough to storm out of the dining room, running up the stairs, and slamming the bathroom door. Kassidy sat down on the bathroom floor and just cried into her knees.
"Kassidy, open up, it's Lisa." Lisa said through the door knocking softly.
"Go away! I don't want to talk." Kassidy replied through tears.
"Please, Kassidy. Wash your face and come out, your dad has left." Lisa responded motherly.
Kassidy sighed in frustration, washing her face, and then opened the bathroom door. Knowing no matter what is said, Lisa will be becoming her mother which is why her dad has moved her in swiftly.
"Kassidy, I promise you that whatever is running through your head it will all be okay." Lisa said soothingly.
"No, no! It won't be okay. Because you and my dad are blind by what is going on with me and Arianna that it won't work and it will never be okay. Lisa, this is serious, if you and Dad get married this will ruin everything including the awkwardness that will become me and Arianna. We won't be able to face each other in school." Kassidy pleaded with more tears threatening to make her world fall apart.
"Whatever is going on between you and Arianna is not up to me. As for your father, I wouldn't dare to give him a soul on anything but I do have feelings for him, you can't stop or enforce it. I would rather be raising you for Jamal's sake than marrying him because he is too much of a preacher for my liking and lives in that church. You need a parental figure but I won't cross any lines without you saying so. Now, let's get some ice cream and watch movies together with Arianna." Lisa knew what was going on between the girls, a lot more than they thought but to keep Jamal off the trail, she has been feeding his ego but without telling the girls so much.
"So, you don't care that me and Arianna are close?" Kassidy asked curiously.
"Heavens, no, sweetheart. I like that she has someone to hold on too, I know she misses her friends back in Michigan, I do too. But, I am glad that you two are close and spend every day together." Lisa replied gently touching Kassidy's hair to reassure her that she is okay.
Kassidy and Lisa got out of the bathroom then made their way downstairs as Arianna gave Kassidy a tight hug with a concerned look after the hug.
"Is everything okay?" Arianna asked.
"Your mom is the best and you don't even know it." Kassidy replied, smiling from ear to ear.
"Sure, she is. Let's go find a movie to watch and eat this ice cream." Arianna responded with a smile at her mom for cheering Kassidy up.
All three ladies watched a movie and enjoyed ice cream until they needed sleep. Arianna and Kassidy cuddled on the couch with a blanket again while drifting off to sleep. Arianna waited for her mom to leave the living room then Kassidy on the lips once more that day, it made her feel better knowing Kassidy is staying.
