Part Ten

After the conversation with the lady named Ryder, I went back to the Palace. I bet that Seth are looking for me everywhere.

I had a great night with her. I can't believe that there's someone who's not afraid of me. Only Laskaris and the maids in the Palace who serve me know my real identity.

As soon as I open the door of my chamber, Seth suddenly storms his way in and nagged me.

"Where did you go?" Seth asks me so I answered him bluntly.

"Just playing, having a good night with a woman, I guess?" I said and remembered what we had shared last night.

"You just smiled, your majesty, from which family is her? Should I send a letter of engagement?" He suddenly proposes.

"I don't know her family name but she's in the Fourth Squad Royal Knight. It may be a lie so I'll confirm it later on." I spoke.

"That's the knight that we are scheduled to visit today to give them a medal of appreciation. Also, only the Fourth Squad had a female knight, as well as a team that designated team to attend to injured." He told me.

"Oho! interesting! should we visit them now? But I should cover my face with a mask so none can recognize me." I told him.

"Do you know that the Fourth Squad Knights are all commoner but their skills are superb that's the reason why they mostly sent to war or dangerous task was given to them. Some of the high nobility agreed to give the hardest work to them since they are not belonging to high society." He explained.

"What the fuck are you talking about? They always went to war?" I ask him. "With such frail body she manages to escape death?" I murmured.

"Ha? Did you say something?" Seth asks for confirmation if he misheard something.

"Ah, nothing. Let's pay a visit on what does a Fourth Squad doing." I also want to check if she's saying the truth.

"Shall we announce our visit to them?" He asks again. I just said that we do not need to announce the visit, a surprise presence of emperor is much better. We can catch them off guard. "Then I will prepare the medal of appreciation so we can also give it to them." He then talks to someone to prepare it.

I went to take a bath since to freshen up a bit. Will I see her or is she lying about being a member of the Fourth Squad.

I don't usually visit the area of the Fourth Squad but last night, I really felt enchanted by her beauty. Am I bewitch? Does she have a power to bewitch a person? I want to confirm myself.

I am the emperor of this kingdom, the most notorious and evil person they say, I kill people without second thought. That's the reason why all of the people are afraid of me even though they have not meet me in person.

I put on my clothes and prepare to leave when Seth informs me that everything is set and we are off to go.

"This is new, you will personally visit the place. Does something good happened?" He keeps on asking me.

"Yes, and I want to confirm something." I sternly said.

"Their training place is quite far from the Royal Palace; they choose the secluded one so they won't be bothered by the other noble knights. Although the commander of the Fourth Squad can handle such small ruckus." He explained.

"Haa....! Is that all you've got? You call yourself a member of the Fourth Squad with such weak bodies and skills in sword?" I heard a female voice.

"We are not done yet Commander Ryder. Be prepared as well Vice-Commander Alexandra." A group of male voice shouted. The one name they mentioned seems familiar.

I move a little bit to see what is going on. There are group of men who's sitting down that looks so beat up to death.

"Don't tell me, they have done it again? Geez" Seth looks frustrated.

"There are only two female knight unscathed, who are they?" I ask him.

"The one that is taller is the commander of the Fourth Squad, Dame Marshall Ryder Zenobia, and the other girl is Vice-Commander Alexandra Fallon. They both excel in any category. They also have a female knight who has a knowledge in medicine. Dame Zenobia are the one who picks the member." Seth added

The fight was already decided, the two female knights won and the male knights looks like a training tools they used. Look at that faces and bruises.

"Dame Zenobia, you're over doing it again, look at your knights, they all beat up." Seth confronted her.

"What? You got problems with how I deal with my people? I ask them to spar with me, it is fair since we they fight we us, I and Vice-commander Fallon against these lousy men." She sounds so sarcastic and looking at her knight members.

"We will wait for your advice and practice more until we manage to meet your expectation Commander." They all said.

"See that Grand Chancellor Laskaris?" She smugly said to Seth

"Please pay attention to your attitude. We have a guest here. Give respect to his Majesty, the emperor of this kingdom." He mentions and pointed me.

They startled and get their knees on the ground and bow their heads.

"I as the commander of this squad will take full responsibilities of our actions for disrespecting his majesty. Please forgive our insolence." She spoke.

"You may raise your hands; this is the first time I visited your place so I will not take action about your attitude today." I said to make it formal. "I came here to give you a medal of appreciation." I move forward to were the lady I slept last knight standing. She looks so shocked while looking into my eyes. I am a few inches away and all the people watching as gasp their breathes when...

I kissed her on the lips. "hmmmm. It's nice to meet you here my Lady Ryder." Whispering to her ears. I look at her face, it flushed red.

"Yo... Your majesty, why did you do that?" She said firmly, composing herself. "Did we perhaps see each other before your majesty? Forgive as I don't recall meeting you somewhere." She added.

"Yes we do meet somewhere." I told her and it seems that she does not recognize me.

"Please do not come closer to me, even if you're the emperor, I cannot promise not to hit you once you repeat what you have done a while ago. I will overlook your wrong doing as an accident for now." She sternly said while looking into my eye.

"Dame Marshall, you're being too rude to the emperor." Seth warned her but she did not budge at all.

"Oho! Yes do not let other men do this to you, only me can kiss you." I whisper and move backwards to make some gap between us. "Pfffttttt. Let's get things over now." I ordered Seth to give the medals to the knights. "I will come find you again, do not let other men touch you." I whispered again to her and walked back to my palace.
