It was a marvelous creation. 5 robots had been working non stop for a month plus a week. The inside was still empty, but the hallways to the cores were secured. Many times the core would be disconnected from the rings in an attempt to escape, but that was usually as a last resort anyways. David quickly got a hologram with the schematic of the ring. It had a circumference of about a kilometer, and A 100 meters top to bottom. Huge wouldn't describe it, it was colossal. The robots had been given plates bought from the store and they simply welded them together. It was not polished either making it look ugly and unwieldy. Dragon calculated the ring would tear off while exiting the atmosphere inits current state. David sighed as he bought more construction bots. They started to polish the surface, and build the interior with David's command. A warehouse for storage, a hangar bay, a fully automated smeltery and fabricators. This was followed by turrets on the top and bottom and sides of the ring. Lasers were chosen, because energy was one thing the mothership didn't lack, and lasers had longer range. Ballistic weapons (except for rail guns) had the shortest range, while missiles and torpedoes were medium. Lasers were the true long range weapons along with extreme missiles. Nothing was absolute, because modifications happen, but it was a general guide line. The hangar bays took up a quarter of the space, along with the warehouse. The smeltery and fabricators took the rest. It needed furnaces, molds, constant energy, and more importantly containers to hold molten metals. The wiring was done first, and Dragon calculated that it would cost 1600 points alone. David sighed again. He wanted to do so much, but he had around 6000 points after selling all his raw materials, and buying the plates for the ships. Space had more materials, and in more concentrated quantities then this backwards planet. Everything on the mothership would be automated, while Dragon would have towers planted on the planet so the base would become a sturdy foundation to fall back on to. Everything ran smoothly. His points were only at 300, but it was rising constantly, and immediately went back up to 3300 with the achievement David got.
[First to complete mothership ring]
David smiled as the ring went bright and full of light. The turrets swiveled once, before staying in place. The refinery turned on, while the mining materials were loaded onto the ship while it was turned into fuel or spare parts. David now only had one more thing to do before he went into space. Planes to fill the inside of his hangar.
