Chapter 3: Jessica's POV:

Blake is holding me tightly wrapped in his arms and somehow I feel very safe. I literally just told him everything. Everything my mom has done to me since my dad died. I was scared at first but the way he squeezed me a little tighter when I said certain things, felt like he really cared.

"Does anyone else know about this?" He asks, unwrapping one arm from my waist and into my hair. "No, no one knows. And no one can ever know! Please Blake you can't tell anyone what happened or what I just told you!" I plead. If anyone finds out about what my mom does I will get kicked out and I don't have anywhere else to go.

"Don't worry Jessie, I won't tell anyone" he says while looking in my eyes. "But promise me one thing" he adds. I look at him with confusion radiating off my face.

"Promise me that when she hits you again, you will call me immediately"

Tears begin to pile up in my eyes and I really don't want to cry in front of him but everything is just so overwhelming, that I can't help it.

Within seconds my cheeks are stained with tears. I can't help but throw my arms around Blake for a little bit of comfort. Why am I doing this? And why with him? I am a little bit confused, but right now I don't care. I just need someone to give me a hug.

We stay in this position for few minutes before we hear the front door open and close and my mother's car drive off. Blake pulls away from our hug and looks at me with sincere eyes.

"Do you want me to stay?" He asks. What? Am I hearing this correctly? Did he just ask me if he could stay? I am not allowed to have boys over. Well...What's the worst that could happened? My mom can hit me again. Luckily Blake would be here to stop her then.

"Yes...please...I mean, if you want to" I stutter and he chuckles. "Come on" he says, "let's get you to bed"

He takes my hand and leads me to my bed. He takes off his shoes and I take off mine. Then he takes off his shirt and pants, leaving him in only his boxers. "What are you doing?" I ask him trying not stare at him while he undresses. "Taking off my clothes. You don't want me to sleep in uncomfortable clothes, do you?" He says as if it was obvious. I slightly nod and walk to my closet and grab a over sized T-shirt and short yoga pants.

I walk to the bathroom to change my clothes and freshen up a bit. When I walk back to my room I see Blake lying on my bed watching TV. I walk over to my bed and lay down on it, leaving a little gap between the two of us. The gap is quickly closed when Blake wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me closer to him.

I don't pull away. I just lay there in his arms and watch some TV. After a few minutes I feel my eyes getting heavier and heavier. "Go to sleep Jessie, don't worry about anything, I'm here" he whispers and gives me a kiss on my hair.

I feel the flutters in my stomach again, but I quickly ignore them and go to sleep, relaxing my body in Blake's muscular arms.
