Ariel looked around her, wondering how she was going to get out of the mess.
Her mom sometimes takes things a bit too far. She was not a kid anymore, why should she come running to her mom and tell her about her day? Not like she would have paid her any attention if she did. She barely even notices her presence at home.
She bit her lower lips and thought of what to say, ignoring her mother's piercing look.
"I didn't want to cause any rift between our families, that's why I didn't tell you anything. Besides, when I came back home, I was feeling much better and didn't want you to be bothered, " She said finally.
"Can you please forgive me? I didn't mean to make you feel bad. I was just trying to protect our family's friendship," She continued, giving her mom an apologetic look.
Patricia looked at her, doubt clearing from her eyes and finally calmed down.
She walked closer to Ariel and hugged her tight for a minute before pulling her back.
