Gar knew his lightsaber wouldn't reach him in time and prepared for the worst. Inches from his head, the big man jumped and rolled away from him. At the same time, gunshots rang out.
Turning his head, he saw Natalie come out from behind her cover, she sported two pistols, one in each hand. Gar got up unsteadily, "Woo! That scared me, he almost killed me, thanks, Natalie."
Natalie nodded, "Zaran, weren't you looking for me? Why are you bothering these two?" Natalie ducked behind the car and reloaded.
"I wasn't interested in them at first, but now I wonder where two kids learned to fight like this. They're sloppy but better than some expert fighters," Zaran looked at Gar who was still shaking. Sol was getting up again.
"The question is whether I should kill them or steal them?"
"If you were to strike me down then I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine," Gar responded taking a fighting stance. His body continued to tremble.
Natalie watched Gar's trembling form, "Hey, Gar, are you okay? Do you need to retreat?"
"No, I'm fine to take on this villain," Gar did a couple of swishes with his lightsaber. Although it helped settle him a little, he was still shaky.
"Are you sure, because from here it looks like you're really scared. Maybe you should retreat," Natalie called out once more.
"Of course I'm scared, I've never been in a fight before -- well, not one where someone is trying to kill me. Even if I am scared I must master my fear and overcome it. Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. I must overcome my fear even if it means my life.
Natalie looked at Gar and smiled.
"Fine words, you must overcome fear even if it means your life. You have illuminated my path, here comes fear!" Zaran threw out several throwing knives, which Gar blocked. Sol wanted to support his friend by blasting Zaran, but the man was too close to his friend. Natalie was similarly unable to aid her new friend.
"Gar, don't die, we just arrived. You need to find a way out of this. He's a superior fighter, better than you in every way. If not for your luck and the force you would probably be dead now," Sol yelled to his friend. Natalie paused after hearing those words.
"Don't worry, he won't kill me. I already know the path to victory!" Zaran became wary after hearing Gar's confident proclamation, but it didn't slow his steps. He pulled out his sword once more to cut the teenager in half.
"Gar, what are you going to do?" Sol yelled to his friend.
"Meesa going to get mui mui stoopid!" Gar yelled back to his friend. Zaran nearly tripped over his feet, while Natalie was completely confused, and Sol muttered, "Figures, he's channeling Jar Jar Binks."
Although Natalie wasn't next to Sol, she was still close enough to hear his muttering, "Who is Jar Jar Binks?"
"A powerful Sith Lord, who used the power of the dark side to appear clumsy and have stupid good luck, but in reality, he was using the Force." Sol responded to Natalie.
"The Force? What is that?" Zaran asked.
"Wait, I don't accept that Jar Jar was a secret Lord of the Sith. I think the opposite is true. I think he was a light side user," Gar yelled as he dodged, rolled, and tripped out of danger over and over again. It looked like dumb luck, but was it?
"Not this again, there's no way Jar Jar is a Jedi!" Sol yelled to his friend.
"It makes more sense than the idea that he was a Sith. I can prove it, name one evil thing Jar Jar ever did." Gar continued to dodge his opponent's attacks.
"He voted to elect Senator Palpatine as the Supreme Chancellor after having Chancellor Valorum removed from office," Sol answered instantly still looking for an opening to attack Zaran.
"Ha! I knew you would say that. However, according to the theories concerning Jar Jar being a Dark Lord of the Sith, he was enemies with Palpatine! There are two theories, the first one is that he is the Force ghost of Darth Plagueis the Wise. The second is that he is the secret apprentice of Darth Plagueis and competitor of Darth Sidious, or Supreme Chancellor Valorum.
But neither of these theories can account for why Darth Jar Jar would support and advance Palpatine's plan to gain political and military power. Darth Jar Jar should do everything he can to stop Palpatine!" Gar continued to dodge, but Zaran's movements slowed a lot, was he interested in the story?
The intrigue of the story enchanted Natalie, "Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?" She asked herself.
"You're wrong, you haven't accounted for the fact that if Palpatine succeeds then all Jar Jar needs to do is kill Palpatine and take over," Sol responded.
"Naive fool! Is this simplified analysis all that fills your head? How could Jar Jar take over? In everyone's mind, Jar Jar was nothing more than a stupid Gungan. Not only was he a stupid Gungan, but he was exiled from the Gungans due to his extreme clumsiness. Do you think anyone in power would be willing to make him the Emperor?
This is why the theories out there cannot mean that Jar Jar is a Sith Lord, but you can't say that he's just clumsy or lucky. The number of coincidental successes Jar Jar has pointed to something more than simple luck. What if Jar Jar's actions were a result of following the will of the force?!" Everyone was shocked, even if they didn't know what the Force was. The logic was perfect without a single whole in its framework.
"That can't be, if Jar Jar were a Jedi, then Obiwan or Qui-Gon Jinn would have recognized him as such!" Sol couldn't accept his friend's theory so easily.
"When did I say that Jar Jar was a Jedi?" Gar dodged Zaran's sword strike as easily as he dodged a critical error in his theory.
"You did too, I said he was a Dark Lord of the Sith, but you said he was the opposite!" Unwilling to let go of his opinion, Sol cornered his friend with his own words.
"You didn't quote everything I said, what I said was quote, "Wait, I don't accept that Jar Jar was a secret Lord of the Sith. I think the opposite is true. I think he was a Light Side user," end quote. Jar Jar was neither a Sith nor a Jedi. Instead, he was a powerful user of the Light Side of the Force!"
"How could he use the Light Side of the Force so well if he was never trained?" Sol asked back.
Gar threw his head back and laughed as another slash failed to connect, "Simple, it's because Jar Jar was an idiot."
The listeners were shocked, could an idiot become so powerful? It seemed one person was finally becoming convinced. His entire being seemed to crumble with this new enlightenment.
"No. No. That's not true. That's impossible!" Sol yelled in helpless realization.
"Search your feelings, you know it to be true!" Gar mercilessly responded.
"No! No! I don't, I don't believe it." Sol cried out but almost whispered the last part.
"That is why you fail." Gar responded once more.
"Fail? Fail? What did I fail at?" Sol asked confused.
"Not you, him," Gar said as he swung at Zaran's opening.
The man was too caught up in the unfolding drama and didn't notice Gar sneaking in under his guard, "Oh, darn!" Zaran yelled out before taking the strike to the head and falling to the ground unconscious.
The entire event was too bizarre and shocking, Natalie was frozen with her mouth stuck open after seeing Zaran, one of the greatest Weapons Masters in the world dispatched.
"Close your mouth, we are not a codfish," Gar chuckled as he responded to Natalie's shocked appearance.
"Okay, Gar, I think you've finally convinced me of your theory about Jar Jar, but I need some time to think about it. This theory is too shocking, it's just too shocking," Sol said as he shook his head.
"No problem, I know it's a lot to take in. Imagine my shock when I worked the whole matter out in my head. Now, what are we going to do with him?" Gar asked while looking at Zaran, and then finally at Natalie once more.
