This Was Not At All Fine

"I hope you're a fast learner," Jamie said tiredly. "Because we're drowning here. Book releases are getting delayed, which makes the production, sales, and marketing departments angry. Shelly said she wouldn't hire anybody who wasn't so you better put your money where your mouth is."

Penelope barely managed to hold back a laugh. This woman was as blunt as Percy. 

"I recently mastered a program I had never seen before in a few days from tutorial videos alone. I've got this," she reassured her. 

Jamie nearly wilted with relief. "Good. I'll try to explain things as I go but if you have any questions, feel free to ask."

Penelope spent the rest of the morning aside from her fifteen minute break watching Jamie go. She took notes as she went and asked very few questions because her trainer was so good at explaining things clearly.
