Chapter 15 - Training Arc Begin

About a month had passed since she started to meditate and try to get better at using magic— or at the very least start using magic at all.

And not a lot had happened throughout this month, with the old man's visits becoming less frequent as time went on.

Which she attributed to the fact that they didn't have anything new to learn from her even after all the times they came— so they were losing interest in a proactive approach.

She also avoided going out again because she wanted the heat to cool down before trying and getting caught— not that she had a reason to go out anyways.

But that didn't matter since she had other things to focus on anyway.

Which she did, and she made progress in them.

Firstly her darkness which she had put the most effort into trying to understand and learn. She trained the most with it and it had quite a big payout.

She was now able to hold multiple illusions at a time without feeling any strain, and she was also able to make darkness constructs a lot better now.

Not just little ones like the key she made before but rather ones that were up to half her size.

Unfortunately, she still couldn't do anything complex since she didn't know the inner workings of the thing in order to imagine it. So things such as guns, monsters, machines, and so on were all out of the picture for now.

But she could make less complex things quite easily— like chairs, walls, tubes, and even stuff like whips, swords, spikes, and other weapons.

She hadn't quite worked out how to get it to stay hard while she moved it yet though so she couldn't quite use the weapons in order to attack other people.

Which she found to be a huge bummer because the image of whipping people that got in her way seemed like such fun to her— but she had to make due for now without being able to do that.

Plus she didn't have any training in these weapons, to begin with, so she had no way of using them even if she was able to keep them stable.

Her physique wasn't even that good compared to most kids her age— given the fact that she was in a coma for over 9 years.

Granted thanks to her constant working out since she woke up, along with the darkness and magic that was altering and improving her body, she was better than what she should be as a child that just woke up.

But she was definitely not on par with an adult male yet, which was her goal for this first year.

Thankfully she was currently 9 after all, and had until she turned 11 to prepare. Meaning she had a little over 2 years to get ready and train— which she assumed would be enough time.

She had no plans to focus too much or allocated too much time to training her physique since she didn't intend to fight hand to hand or even close up.

She always found that act so— barbaric— and disgusting whenever she saw it.

But that didn't mean she didn't have to prepare in the case something like that happened. The future was unpredictable and she didn't want to leave it up to fate that no one would attack her from close range.

Plus, with her intentions of capturing monsters in order to test her abilities on them— the chances of herself being attacked by them were high.

Especially since a lot of monsters fought primarily with their bodies and not magic like wizards from what she had read in the book.

So she set aside a plan in order to train her body properly, something simple that wouldn't strain her body too much since it was still relatively young.

She didn't want to accidentally cause issues with her growth due to her own actions— not that she thought she would since magic solves a lot of problems.

And her body was technically made from darkness so she had no idea how it would react to her working out— or even how it would react to her trying to learn about magic.

In fact, throughout these past days, she hadn't checked on the information panel even once. She wanted to save it up for a big reveal to get that dopamine blast one would get for realizing their hard work paid off.

So she planned to check it when she turned 10 and no time before that, no matter what.

Well, that is unless something detrimental happened to her and she needed to know what it was. But aside from that, she had no intention to use it yet.

The blast of dopamine wasn't the only reason she didn't want to use it so often though. She simply didn't want to become too reliant on it, and the information it provided.

While it was useful in its ways of allowing her to know exact numbers of her bodily functions and even explain her abilities in rudimentary ways, she realized it was subconsciously limiting her.

She didn't realize it at first, but the reason she never thought to make darkness constructs or attempted to was because of the information panel.

It never said she could do it, which was why she never attempted to do it— in an odd way of subconscious conditioning.

She also realized it wasn't all that accurate since it never explained her ability to make magic go haywire which was odd.

But all in all, she had no plans to rely on it too much— that is not to say she didn't have plans to use it.

It was still a tool at her disposal, and she had all the intentions of using it as such, a tool. Just one she wouldn't rely on as a necessity.

'What is a good workout plan to do that wouldn't strain my body?'

She thought to herself as she tried to recall any of the plans she had known of in her past life— with only one popping into her head because of how well-known it was as a meme online.

100 sit-ups.

100 push-ups.

100 squats.

10-kilometer run.

It was a workout plan done by one of the strongest legendary bald people that wore a yellow and red suit. And while many people had tried it and not gotten the same results as him, it was still a good workout.

So she decided to do it, and who knows, maybe she will somehow get to his level while doing it.

Which would be rather funny.

With that decided, she got back to training her things, beginning a few months of repetitive actions.
