Beautiful Moon

Evening came as I continued working on my new creations. The ceiling of this haven turned dark as well with starry skies above. Oscar made it this way so it would copy how the sky looked outside so we know when it's evening or not.

The whole place was dimly lit now with a few light crystals scattered around. The lights gave the place an ambient feel to it.

I also stopped working on my creations and went back to the house. I set up a small camp outside where I started cooking a simple dinner while waiting for Yue to wake up.

*Creak~*

Oh speak of the dev– uh, vampire, there she is. I turned around and smiled at her.

"Finally sober?"

"Um..." I saw her face was flushed with mixed emotions.

"Here, take a seat. Dinner will be done in a while."

Yue sat beside me while gazing at the reflection of the outside's starry skies. We also saw the moon high up, looking so beautiful.

"The starry skies above, each one glimmering and lighting the night sky, a beautiful sight to see."

"I think so too," I replied.

I took a glance at her and saw her smiling at me. With the moonlight shining upon her, she appears as if a goddess has descended.

"Heh," I smiled before gazing towards the night sky. I guess, I am a fool really. How long am I gonna be this way? "The moon's beautiful isn't it, Yue?"

"The moon?" She gazed up before replying. "...Yes, it is."

I heaved a sigh before smiling.

"Yue, let me ask this. If I were to find a way on traveling to a different world, would you like to join me?"

"Traveling with Hajime? Of course!" Without hesitation huh?

"Haha, I guess I asked a stupid question." I chuckled at myself. I didn't want to do this at first but this whole day, it has been on my mind. Maybe it's due to how I can in this world and the complicated circumstances that limit me or maybe not.

"Here, take this, Yue." I brought out a gift from my subspace. It was a ring that I made that functions as mana storage, a storage ring, and a defense artifact.

"...Is this a proposal?" She asked.

"Haha," I chuckled at that. "You already answered earlier, didn't you?"

"Just confirming hehe~ Then, Hajime, put it on me, please~?" She acts cutely with her eyes. And it was effective, I'll give her that.

I shook my head with a smile and put it on as she wanted.

"Woah~" She raises her hand and excitedly stared at the ring. Then she turned toward me with a...dangerous look in her eyes.

"Haha, Yu-Yue?" I chuckled nervously. For some reason, even though I'm stronger than her, I felt nervous.

"Ha~ji~me~" She grinned then pounced on me before biting my neck.

"Ack–!"

It took a few minutes before she stopped. I looked at her, she had blood dripping from the corner of her mouth before she wiped it off.

"Mm~ Your blood tastes delicious, Hajime~"

"...Haa, at least tell me next time." I sighed.

After that, nothing major happened and we had dinner peacefully or so I hoped. Yue seems to have different plans...and I was helpless, even A-chan didn't help.

Third Person PoV~

The next day, morning came and the light shone brightly, illuminating the room where two people slept.

"Ugh," Hajime slowly opened his eyes and noticed their state. He glanced at the sleeping beauty beside him on the bed and smiled.

He carefully pushed the hair that covered her cheeks and saw how Yue was sleeping with a wide smile.

"Mmm~ Hajime~" She mumbled softly in her sleep.

"She's still tired. I should cook breakfast before she wakes up."

Hajime carefully got off the bed to not abruptly wake her up. After which he wore clothes and started cooking breakfast in the kitchen.

As he cooks, the aroma permeated the kitchen and slowly spread to the whole house.

Meanwhile, in the room, the aroma reached Yue's nose.

"Mm~?" Her eyes slowly opened and smelled the aroma. "Hajime's cooking?" She muttered before remembering last night and becoming flushed.

"Hajime is so strong...sturdy..." She kept mumbling words before getting out of her daze.

She then slowly got off the bed but winced shortly after.

"Ah," The pain, however, made her smile wider. It was proof that everything that happened wasn't a dream or delusion.

Shortly after, she got some clothes on and walked out the room.

"Hmm~ Ashita, kyou yori mo suki nareru. Afureru omoi ga tomoranai." As Hajime was singing one of his favorite songs, he felt two arms wrapping around him. "Sorry, did I wake you with my singing?" He asked, feeling sorry.

"No, I smelled the aroma of your cooking. That's why I woke up." Yue replied, her head on Hajime's back as she hugged him tightly.

"Is that so, well, just wait for a bit then." He smiled as he continued cooking while singing too.

They had a peaceful breakfast that morning before they packed up, ready to leave the Orcus Great Labyrinth.
