Reflex

A small boy of about ten years old slowly opened his eyes still feeling dizzy, he slowly look around and a few words escaped his mouth.

Where… am I?" He slowly said, his head still a bit dizzy.

"You finally decided to wake up" Liam heard a voice that send shivers down his spine, the memory of his head been slammed on the table resurfaced in his mind.

"Uh yes, for how long have I been asleep?" Liam asked as he quickly get into a seating position, he will definitely not let his guard down around this woman!

"About one week and a half" Hanna answered.

Liam is shocked and unable to believe that he has been asleep for more than a week, "Ehh? How is that possible?"

"Are you asking me?" Hanna's voice shows that she is a little annoyed.

"Uh hahaha, never mind, I will get going" Liam nervously laughed and stood up to leave.

"Take all of your stuffs with you and you should come here by morning tomorrow, if you are ready, you can come by night time" Hanna pointed at some objects on the table.

"Alright, thank you" Liam quickly took the items into his spatial ring and ran out, he didn't dare to linger around this woman!

Liam heave a sigh of relief as he leave the gates of the black rose, he quickly walk towards his house and is a little eager to meet David and the rest.

"You worthless piece of trash!" Liam heard an angry voice when he arrive at the place, he use the wooden blank and slide his way down only to find a man in expensive clothing shouting angrily.

"Hey Liam" David ignored the man and walk towards Liam, this only serves to further infuriates him!

The man is enraged to the point that smokes could appear from his ears, when did he ever been ignored by an outer sect disciple?

He walked towards the unaware David with some spiritual energy gathered in his hand, he raised it and planned on striking David on the back!

'This man… is evil' Liam concluded in his mind, he try to come up with something but if he is to spend a little more time thinking, his good brother will have been struck by a palm strike!

Whoosh!

The palm strike descended in an extremely fast speed, Boom!

"Argh!"

It collided with something and produce a small boom sound which made the man smiled but when he look down, his smile quickly vanished, the palm strike was blocked by a little boy while David is completely fine and is currently glaring at him with hatred in his eyes, a sharp pain assaulted him starting from his palm!

Liam felt his small hands are numb and a small purplish liquid dropped from it, he felt as if the force earlier will crush some of his bones but thankfully it does not and all he felt is a numb sensation on his hands!

'I… utilized the poison just now without knowing' Liam is shocked and rub his numb hands against each other, he never intended to use the poison but in the end, when the attack landed on him, the poison shot out like a reflex and hurt that arrogant disciple!

Meanwhile the inner sect disciple is busy shouting while he look at his hand with a terrifying look on his face!

"You… Demon!" He shouted with fear in his eyes, David is stunned and Liam is confused as well.

The man quickly starts the circulation of his spiritual energy and soon enough, he spit a black liquid along with some blood out of his mouth!

"You will pay for this!" His rage is evident in his eyes as he lunged at Liam but this time David is prepared and simply send a kick towards his midsection, the man is caught off guard as he is fully focus on attacking Liam, the attack hit him squarely on the chest and sent him flying backward while crashing against a tree!

He quickly stood up but this time he didn't attack anymore and instead, he back away with hatred in his eyes.

"Junior brother, Are you alright? Thank you for saving me" David said with gratitude in his eyes.

"I am fine, it's what I should do… but now that you have offended that guy, wouldn't you be in trouble?" Liam worriedly asked, he is not worried that he will be targeted by that man because he has the Black Rose to back him up but his Senior Brother is not under any branch and not an inner disciple too!

"Junior brother is worrying too much" David grinned but decided to explain when he saw Liam's confused face.

"Who told you that idiot is an inner sect member?" David asked.

"He… is not?" Liam is beyond shocked, he came here and barking like a dog while calling someone worthless but he is not even an inner sect member!

"He is just a lackey!"

"Not only is my strength is sufficient, I will soon take the test for the inner sect and by then, I will kick his butt" David laughed and Liam followed suit, he is kinda looking forward to how the young man's face will look when David advanced to the inner sect!

"I heard that you succeeded, that move earlier is a proof of that. Tell me about it" David asked and Liam enthusiastically started recounting all the events that happened and the people he met in the Black Rose!
