"Will you marry me?", Sophia asked the stranger she just bumped into. "Sure. Let's go.", Daniel said extending his hand towards her asking her silently to hold it. ___________________________________ She was abandoned by her fiance right before their marriage. Sophia felt devastated and her family's and best friend's warning echoes in her mind. They told her he wasn't reliable but she was really blind to not see his true self. He was rushing to the venue, cursing himself for being too late. 'I can't live without her. Please God, help me.', he prayed for the very first time. Will Sophia regret her impulsive decision? How does he know her? How will she feel when she finds out the truth? This story is about two souls who were destined to be together. Join Sophia and Daniel on their journey of creating a happy family, fighting alongside eachother against the demons of their past and present.
"This will be our home from now on.", Daniel said while guiding Anna towards living area.
"This is Aunt Marry. She takes care of the house usually. You can ask her for anything you might need.", Daniel spoke pointing at an old lady standing at the side who nodded her head to Sophia while contemplating about her identity.
"She is my wife and mistress of the house, Sophia Miller Rodriguez.", Daniel said keeping his hand on Sophia's lower back politely. His touch didn't make Sophia uncomfortable rather she felt secure under his hold.
The workers gasped a little but soon composed themselves. "Welcome mam. We will be at your service." , Aunt Marry said to Sophia with a smile and others just bowed their heads a little as a greeting.
Sophia gave a small smile and a nod in acceptance of their greetings.
"Remember everyone. She must be given the same level of respect as you all give me and in fact more than me. My wife will have the final say. Understood.", Daniel spoke in a warning tone and reminding everyone not to upset his wife under any condition.
Sophia looked at Daniel with mixed emotions. She couldn't understand why he was so nice to her. She knew that she was a good catch among the socialites. She was beautiful and a successful women too but she still wasn't confident enough standing in front of this man.
He was true epitome of success. She will have to work harder to expand her company so that he can proudly introduce her as his wife not just out of his responsibility and kindness. Yes she thought this was his kind heart that he was so thoughtful towards her. She didn't want to let him down.
A beautiful misunderstanding that would help them both grow in careers as well as in their relationship.
"Are you hungry? What would you like to have for dinner?", Daniel asked Sophia her preferences.
"Nothing in particular. Anything would do.", he nodded his head a little. He asked Aunt Marry to prepare their dinner as usual and led Sophia towards the second floor.
Taking a right turn he opened the door to the room there and switched on the lights. He invited Sophia inside.
"This is the master bedroom and our room too. You can see if you like the interior or want to make changes. It would be all up to you.", Daniel spoke softly and inquiringly. He was nervous that she wouldn't like the room.
'You are behaving like a teenager in love.', his inner voice mocked him.
'Oh shut up. You don't understand.', Daniel said irritatingly to his inner self.
Sophia took a look at the room in awe. Her room could fit twice inside this one. It was huge.
"It's beautiful.", Sophia said admiring the interior.
The king size bed lay in middle of the room. The bedsheets were greyish in colour. The curtains were in shades of off-white and wheatish colors. In front of the bed was a small black table. On the right side of bed lay a L-shaped sofa in off white color. The cushions and the pillows were in maroon and dark grey colours. It was very aesthetically decorated room.
There were three doors in the room. One might be the bathroom and other one was probably the walk-in closet entrance. But Sophia wasn't sure about the third door.
Daniel observed her expressions for a while and after making sure she really liked it, he relaxed.
"Even though the gown is light and comfortable but still you might be tired being in it since morning. You can take a shower and get changed.", Daniel spoke while moving towards the closet.
He went inside and came out with a new towel, a t-shirt and his shorts. He found his joggers too big for her so he brought the shorts.
"Umm, you have yet to get your luggage. How about you use these for now? They are new so you can wear them comfortably.", Daniel said forwarding the things in his hand towards Sophia.
Sophia took the clothes and walked towards the washroom that was the gate near the closet, which was pointed at by Daniel to tell her the way silently.
Sophia walked inside and closed the door. She keeps the clothes on the side rack and splashes her face with cold water to clear her mind. The day was really a roller coaster ride for her.
She looked around and was again left speechless by the luxurious set up of the washroom. 'It's more grand than the 7 star hotels.', Sophia thought and after shaking her head internally, she decided to take her shower. She wanted to wash her hair. 'Seems like l will have to use his shampoo', she thought. She hesitatedly reached for it.
Soon she was done with her shower and slipped into his clothes. She had to use her previous inner garments as she would get her bags tomorrow.
His clothes were a little loose for her. She looked at herself in the mirror and thought she looks funny with baggy clothes and water dripping from her hairs. Adjusting the hem of the t-shirt one last time she came out of the washroom.
As soon as Sophia came out she saw Daniel standing there in his home clothes. He wore a white t-shirt and black joggers. His hairs were a little wet.
Daniel entered the room a few minutes ago . He had taken a shower in the guest room. He turned towards Sophia when heard the washroom door opening.
When Daniel turned to look at Sophia his breathing hitched. She looked so cute, beautiful and sexy, all at the same time in his clothes. He couldn't understand how she pulled to give all vibes at same time that too unknowingly. Then he noticed her wet hair and frowned.
"You will catch a cold.", Daniel said walking towards her. He took Sophia's hand and made her sit on the couch in front of vanity mirror. He took out the hair dryer.
"I can do it", Sophia said reaching out for the dryer but Daniel moved his hands up.
"It's okay just sit still. I got this.", he said and started drying her hair after checking the temperature on back of his hand.
Sophia watched everything and was lost in thought. She felt that destiny planned to make her meet such a gentleman. She didn't realize that she was staring at him through the mirror. Daniel corrected his posture feeling her eyes on him. He was enjoying her attention.
Soon he was done drying her hair and turned the dryer off. "It's done. Let's go for dinner.", he spoke keeping the dryer in the side drawer.
Sophia came out of her dreamland and nodded her head. She stood up and both walked downstairs towards the dining room.
The food was spread across the table. There were different varieties of food available. Sophia felt it was such a waste.
"You didn't have to cook so much. We won't be able to finish it.", Sophia said after sitting on the chair that Daniel pulled out for her.
"It won't be wasted. You can serve whatever you like and rest would be left to add to the dinner of the staff.", Daniel said understanding her worries and poured her a glass of water.
Looking at Sophia who still had a frown, Daniel further added, "You can decide the menu from now on". Sophia looked down towards her plate hearing his words but didn't deny. It was her silent agreement to his words which brought a smile to Daniel's face.
They had their dinner in silence and then moved back upstairs. As soon as they entered the room Sophia started fidgeting with the hem of the t-shirt when realisation hit her that today is their wedding night.
