Chapter 10

The body flicker could be combined with an element and each village had their own version of the shunshin no jutsu (Body flicker technique) such as the Gaara's suna shunshin or the raikage's lightning combination that allowed him to even dodge Uchiha Sasuke's Amaterasu at almost point blank. Well, there was much speculation and debate concerning that one.

Regardless, I intended to take it to at least that level or possibly surpass their levels. Thinking about it made me feel all tingly inside. "Baby steps. Baby steps". I whispered the mantra to myself to calm myself.

I began walking to a more spacious ground. I was standing on top the hokage mountain. There was no way I was going to fall off the mountain to my death just a few hours after transmigration. What a shitty way to go after transmigrating a few hours.

After reaching a space I was comfortable with, I closed my eyes thinking through the jutsu one more time. "Circulate chakra through the body to vitalize it then…"

Bang.

With a puff of white smoke, I hit the floor. Hard. My body ached so bad and for the first time in a very long time I wanted to cry. Gritting my teeth, I reminded myself that a 30-year-old man crying due to a fall was just embarrassing. Thankfully there were no trees around.

The main thing was it worked. Looking back, I saw that I had indeed moved quite a distance. "This is not good. I have no idea how I arrived here. If there was an enemy, I would be dead. I have no way to adjust myself at all." The sudden burst of speed was a bit too much for me to handle. I was expecting some kind of rush of information seeing everything as I passed by with the speed I was moving. It did not work that way; It was more like I was unable to process what I was seeing at all. Everything was just a blur.

With the sudden burst I did not even see a thing till my face was plastered on the ground. Picking myself up, I decided to try again. This time, the plan was to shorten the distance. "Baby steps." Picking up a short distance of about 10 or so meters as my target I was all set to try again.

Once again, augment my body with chakra while maintaining the ram seal and clearly focusing on where I wanted to go. With a puff of white smoke and I was there. I almost fell once again but I was there and It felt amazing. A little woozy but amazing.

"YES!" I could not help but scream out in elation. I had no one to compare to but I intended on bringing down the chakra to a miniscule level and ignore the ram seal. I clenched my fist. This was just the beginning. "Good. Again."

Haruno Mebuki left the house not knowing exactly how to feel. She was glad her daughter had finally woken up. She had truly been worried about her. Having her head in the clouds, always dreaming and fantasizing about that Uchiha boy all day and never putting in any real effort in trying to be strong.

It was a good thing they lived in peaceful times. Maybe such a time may have polished her daughter into a fine shinobi, or maybe she would have ended up dead just like so many others; Become just another dead body for the birds to feed on.

Mebuki shook her head. She felt there was no need to think like that. Regardless of how or why it happened, she was glad her daughter was finally awake. At the same time, she was sad. Sad that with the direction she intended to take, her daughter would not be able to enjoy her youth a little more. It was a rare time of peace after all.

"Strong enough to protect us, huh? So naïve." Mebuki smiled lightly as she remembered the words of her daughter. Although she never really had that freedom and began training young, she was much older before saying the exact same words. So much had happened since then. Mebuki had been lost in thought for so long before realizing she had gotten to her destination.

The Hokage. The leader position created shortly after the creation of the village of Konoha by the first, Hashirama Senju, though he had intended the position to go to his counterpart Uchiha Madara. Since then the position had been passed down to the line of the Senju and Senju's closest allies very much to the prediction of Uchiha Madara ever since he lost the position to Hashirama Senju.

The person in the current leader position was the third hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, the student of the Second Hokage and brother of the First Hokage, Tobirama Senju. Sarutobi Hiruzen had resigned after handing over the position to the Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato, the student of his student, Jiraiya, but was forced to return to office after the Fourth Hokage died while saving the village during an attack.
