Chapter 59 – New people on Lloyd’s side

Third person POV

 As a result, and because of hunger, Lloyd's childhood friends sat down and ate.

 "So good!"

 "It's so delicious!"

Happy that they had finally managed to eat regularly, Lloyd sat down and ate up for breakfast.

 Meanwhile, Zeke, Zane, and Hale are still in the living room talking to Laura, Westlan, Gretchel, and Maria about what had happened at Bewote last night. In that conversation, Gretchel and Westlan were shocked to hear that their former kingdom and Hertzel were involved in the raid.

 "Oh no…why him?"

 "That guy and country crossed the line!"

Maria was a bit upset, too.

 "Yes," replied Zeke as his hands were folded, "but luckily, master's childhood friends didn't get involved in the raid."

 "They actually pretended to do nothing and hid somewhere safe," Zane added.

 "Wow, good for them," Westlan responded in agreement.

Gretchel then nodded in agreement, while Maria was happy to hear that.

 Hearing their conversation, Camden said to the girls in the table, "Man, it seems our plan worked…" Gaia and Electra then nodded. Ivory didn't react at all.

 "What plan?" Lloyd asked back.

 "Well…" Electra replied back, "…before the raid, we originally planned to ditch Hertzel-sama during it and run away."

 "But since you entered the picture," Gaia continued on, "we changed our plans instead."

Lloyd couldn't believe what his friends had said to him. "Wow, you guys went out of the way and took the risk to do that."

Camden then nodded. "Yes, because we are sick of your older half-brother's arrogance and self-entitlement."

 "Yeah, I saw that," responded Lloyd while pouring some green tea into a red ceramic cup. "He even hit Camdeni-chan as well."

 "Yeah, that hurts!" Camden slammed his fist on the table hard. "He is such a jerk!"

Lloyd then agreed with him, before taking a sip of his cup of tea. "I didn't know he was that worst." 

 "Yeah, you could say that again," Ivory replied back.

 "Also, what you did to him is treasonous, right?" Lloyd raised a question.

 "Yes, it was," answered Gaia back, "but we don't even care if we were branded as outlaws and traitors. We just wanted to survive."

Electra then nodded, as Camden and Ivory did.

 "Okay then, I understand," Lloyd replied back without judging.

He then resumed eating his meal.

 "By the way, thanks for the meal, Nate-kun," Camden said to Lloyd with gratitude. "We were hungry because Hertzel-sama only fed us food scraps ever since we became his party."

 "No problem, Camdeni-chan," Lloyd replied back happily. "I'm happy to help."

A bit later, Zeke and Hale came to the dining room to eat breakfast with them. "Oh, hey guys," Lloyd said to them. "What are you guys talking about?"

 "About what your rotten kingdom did to Bewote," Hale replied back while eating.

Because of her remark, Camden and the girls felt a bit bad for her.

Zeke then noticed that and said to them, "Come on, guys, it wasn't your fault. It's their fault."

 "We know…" Camden responded.

He and his friends then resumed eating.

And then, Laura came. "Lloyd-sama, we just covered the food last just in case. So, it would not go bad or be infested."

 "Oh, thanks, Laura-chan," Lloyd replied back to her happily.

Seeing how Laura smiled at Lloyd, Ivory, Electra, and Gaia became a bit jealous of her. Camden sees that and thinks, "No way…girls, please, no…" He was a bit worried that this would spark a rivalry between them and Laura, as well as a competition for Lloyd's attention.

 Then, Lloyd asked Laura if she and the others had eaten breakfast already. "Yes, we did, master," answered Laura back, "me, Lady Gretchel, Westlan-kun, and Maria-chan already did that at 5 in the morning so you guys have leftovers for yourselves."

 "Wow, so early…" Hale commented.

Zeke then nodded in agreement.

 Later, after breakfast, Lloyd introduced his childhood friends to Zeke, Zane, Hale, Laura, Westlan, and Maria. Shortly thereafter, they became friends with them, much to Lloyd's happiness. But Lloyd's childhood female friends are secretly jealous of Laura on the inside. After that, Sati came to the house to eat breakfast.

 "Oh, Sati-kun," Lloyd positively said to him, "Hey there."

 "Hi…I'm hungry…" Sati replied back, before heading to the dining room to eat breakfast.

Luckily, there were still some leftovers, so he just sat down and ate.

Zane then joined in to eat breakfast.

 "That's Sati," Lloyd said to his childhood friends about Sati. "He is from this tribe. He is currently the head of the army."

He then looked at Zane. "That's Zane. He is from the Undead dragon tribe and the leader of the Cannonball Squad."

Camden and his friends were amazed to hear that.

 "And I am Lloyd-sama's main subordinate and the backbone of this country's operations." Zeke chimed in.

 "Wow, you, Zane-san, and Sati-san had high positions," Gaia commented.

 "Yes, I am the head of the country's army," Sati responded in confirmation while munching on a slice of whole wheat bread.

 "And, I am good at cannonballs, too," Zane added.

 "Wait, you're his subordinate?" Ivory asked Zeke directly.

 "That's right," Zeke replied back positively with confidence, "as you can probably tell, Lloyd-sama is the leader of this country."

 Lloyd didn't freak out at his main subordinate's revelation to his friends; rather, he was calm with confident. Once again, his childhood friends were shocked to hear that.

 "What?! You're the leader of this country?"

 "That was a lot of responsibility!"

 "How that happened and when?"

Lloyd and the others were chilled.

 "Well, it happened almost a year ago," Lloyd replied back.

His childhood friends then calmed down.

 "How?" Electra asked.

Then, Lloyd revealed to them all of the events that led to his leadership of Sati's tribe first, then of a united country as a whole.

Sati, Laura, Hale, Zane, and Zeke backed Lloyd's account with their own.

Maria, Westlan, and Gretchel then confirmed them as well.

A few minutes later, Camden and his friends understood it.

 "Woah…"

 "That was quite risky."

 "Nate-kun, you're so lucky at that time."

 "Yup!" Lloyd happily replied back.

 "We were at fault for killing him," Sati added as he feels bad at the time when he, Laura, and Hale killed Lloyd.

 "We're sorry," Laura apologized to Lloyd's childhood friends.

 "Me too as well," Hale added.

 "I-It's okay," Camden responded in assurance, "at least Nate-kun is still alive."

 "Yes, we did everything to save him," Sati replied back as his guilt lessened.

 "But your efforts really paid off, Sati-san," Ivory replied back happily.

 "And your decision to pass the leadership of your tribe to Nate-kun was a good one," Gaia added.

 "Yes, being a leader wasn't a thing for me originally," Sati replied back.

Lloyd was a bit surprised to hear that. "Huh? Really?"

Sati then looked at his master. "Yes, my late father and mother forced me to do so. In reality, I wanted to be a military leader."

His master and his friends then understood that.

 "We understand."

 "You made the right choice."

 "Yeah, in fact, you're a formidable military leader after all."

 "Thanks," Sati said to them happily, before his lion's tail appeared and wagged happily. "I'll do my best to do my job and role in the future.

Lloyd's childhood friends noticed that and remembered that he was from the Undead lion tribe. "Right, he's a lion…"

Sati's lion tail then disappeared.

But what Langton would feel about this?
