Elena's P.O.V
As I settled into the bustling breakfast party, that seemed more like lunch than breakfast, the aroma of sizzling dishes and the low hum of conversation surrounded me. I couldn't help but notice her sitting across the room, the girl I'd been trying to catch the attention of for what felt like an eternity.
My heart raced with anticipation as I tried to discreetly lock eyes with her, but it seemed as though she was deliberately avoiding my gaze.
I signaled to a passing waiter, requesting a moment to compose myself as I glanced around the crowded room. The clinking of silverware and the laughter of other patrons created a symphony that only heightened my nervousness. Was she purposely ignoring me? The thought lingered in my mind as I devised a plan to break through the invisible barrier she seemed to have erected.
