Chapter 10: Trapped?

With the 3 men quickly capture, Eldred found some rope along with some other equipment that they were carrying.

"What should we do about them?" Ulf asked as he placed them not so gently against a tree.

Thinking for a short moment Eldred replied" we need information, we don't know much about the island and who we are against"

"We know they are mercenaries" Silas mutter as he looked like he was pointing out the obvious and tilting his head to their guns that would be standard military equipment.

Eldred started to use his brains, if this was his 'old self' he would have already gone the flow and try to get some info on what's going on taking everything at face value.

"The association could have hired them to hunt us"Ulf said as he picked up their equipment" its not a big deal, we just gotta keep moving"

"No, Ulf!" Eldred shouted which made his voice cracked a bit," we can't just say they came here under the orders of the association"

Eldred quickly rushed toward Ulf, "We have to think things through, they skipped the 2nd stage for a reason"

"How-How-how would we know that they teel tell uh-us is tr-true?" Ulf tried to shut and talk quickly which resulted with him stuttering.

Sila looked a the two and knew that they both would argue on the matter until night if neither of them back down, placing his hands on their shoulders,"Come on guys, we're all friends here and you both are right, we need info and we need to make sure it is true"

"So how do we do it?" Ulf asked as he took a seat on a tree root breathing slowly.

" Simple" Silas mentioned with a innocent smile "torture"

"Are you serious" Eldred asked as the thought make sense there wasn't much to lose if they torture them and they could get more information that way.

Everyone was quite and the sound of birds whistling could be heard, some was louder than other but the songs continues for a bit before stopping.

Ulf got up and reached for a knife with a serrated back,"who's going to do the deed" Ulf asked looking at Silas.

"I have experience with something similar to torture" Silas responded to a shy expression before it quickly turn to his usual confident one."its a tat softer but it can work"

With Eldred and Ulf looking at him, Silas found a need to explain what he mean for one which in fact surprising,"You see there was this girl and she-"

"We don't want to know" Eldred quickly interrupted Silas as he figured what he mean but Ulf was confused as ever as shrugged it off.

"Ulf take that one clothes off-" While Ulf was going to strip the man, Silas tried to figure out what to try first.

Unexpectedly a loud explosion was heard coming from the beach, and the now half naked man tried to run but Ulf was on alert and knocked him out.

"What's doing on" Eldred asked as he quickly climbed the tallest tree he could find which granted him a clear view of the beach and the safe zone no the escape zone the association provided them.

"What can you see?" Silas asked waving his belt around.

"There was an explosion, by the hut" Eldred quietly answered which was loud enough to hear just below them,-" Wait someone is going to the hut"

Down by the hut a man with blood running down from his legs was limping toward the hut trying to escape,"Help me!" they man shouted as he saw Luis with his gas mask sipping some coffee.

Luis glanced over and point to a line that was made from coconuts" cross the line and you're saved.

"Just help me" The man cried out as he was just a few meters away, just as the man took another step another loud explosion followed.

The explosion wasn't so powerful to destroy the man's whole body but the leg that wasn't injured was no longer there, screams followed as the man tried to grab his missing leg but couldn't the ringing sound in his ears made the situation worst and his voice could only scream for help.

Luis once again pointed to the line and picked up a book to read, " I will fuckin' kill you" The men that was begging for help was no longer there he quickly started to curse out Luis as he crawled to the line, creating a bloody trail with his missing leg.

"wow wow there" A tall man with blond hair shouted out" We don't want you losing any more limbs" As he dragged the man back," medic get him patched up and carried back to the base"

The blond hair man went ahead and set back the land mine that was set off," you really won't inter fair unless they meet that line huh"

Lusi didn't answered as he had orders and wanted to take a break so what if someone lost a limb or two they still will be alive and they knew the risk.

Eldred who had focused Nen into his eyes saw most of what happened clearly," The association didn't hire them" Eldred quietly stated as he looked at the three men that they had. Who are they what do they want.

Eldred couldn't stop thinking about what he saw and he knew there was now only three ways off the island survive for 3 months, swim around the land mine or in a body bag.

"What was caused the explosion?" Silas asked as he was still ready to gather information.

A sudden chuckle came from what seem to be the leader of the trio" Land mines, land mines, that's what caused the explosion"

"What iss he talking about Eldred" Ulf shouted.

"If you want information I will happily give it to you, no need for torture"

Eldred dropped down to the ground as he figured it out, the man was awake all of the time and was just waiting for the right moment, a sudden laugh came out, "We're trapped"
