Package Arrival (1)

Mikael slipped out of the bathroom, the door closing behind him with a gentle click. He was wrapped in a nightgown that clung to his towel-dried skin.

He had a great bath alone; the warm water had eased the knots in his muscles, leaving him craving to submit to his bed and have a good night's rest.

'But I don't want to call it a day without knowing what is inside the package.'

Despite the strong urge to sleep, Mikael forced himself to shuffle across the cold floor. His bare feet squished under his toes, leaving droplet of water on its wake.

He made his way purposefully to the table, his gaze scanning the surface, where a lone package awaited him.

With the long wig absent, Mikael swept a stray lock of his white hair back from his forehead before proceeding to pluck the letter that was sitting on his package.

Despite drying his hands, the moisture clung to his fingertips, leaving a mark of his touch on the envelope.
