Chapter 10 Is this freaking flying a plane?

The second episode of the cooking variety show began recording.

Jin Luo was dragged out of bed by Li Xiaolei, frankly because Sister Jin Luo was impossible to wake up, loving to sleep in.

After everyone had breakfast, they enjoyed some free time.

Today's cooking show was similar to yesterday's, still shot in Food City.

The only difference was that the director group had added a reward and punishment system, with the first place winning a luxurious feast, while the last place had to settle for plain white rice.

Xiao Yuan's team widened their eyes upon hearing this.

Just plain white rice? Seriously? The directors were doing this for the show, right? If they were serious, their team couldn't possibly compete with the other two teams.

The director group seemed to perceive their intentions and chuckled, "Don't worry, it's not just for the show."

Upon hearing this, Xiao Yuan's team let out a collective groan.

From initially not taking the game seriously to now paying extreme attention to it, they definitely didn't want to end up in last place.

Upon hearing this, the other two teams, although not as despondent as Xiao Yuan's, were more motivated than they had been the day before.

Since Jin Luo's team had all chosen to select fish yesterday, today the other two teams spontaneously decided to pick only fish.

Just as the three teams had divided the work amongst themselves and were ready to enter Food City full of fighting spirit, the directors took them instead to the riverbank near Food City.

The directors spoke up, "Today's game rules have changed slightly. Do you see the small baskets floating on the water's surface over there?"

After saying this, the guests all looked toward the river, where small oval baskets were floating, each containing Gourmet Cards, and a few small boats were docked at the riverbank.

"The next game rule is that whoever salvages a Gourmet Card that can be rated as the top dish will be declared the winner, and the grouping is still the same as yesterday's."

After listening to the director's rules, the guests felt that the directors were being too unreasonable. Those gourmet dishes floating on the water - they couldn't even taste them, who knew which would be the best.

But there was no choice, they were there to work and had to follow the arrangements made for them.

Each team had a small boat, and the guests climbed aboard ready to set off.

If they couldn't compete in quality, they would have to compete in quantity, thinking that by collecting many Gourmet Cards, they would have a higher chance of selecting the number one tasty dish in Food City.

The other teams thought the same, and once they reached the river's center, they hurried to start salvaging first.

However, they couldn't even row properly, and the gourmet food on the surface of the river was completely out of their reach.

Jin Luo said, "Let me row."

"Sister Jin Luo, are you sure you can do it?" asked Li Xiaolei apprehensively.

Jin Luo nodded confidently, "I can, just make sure to hold on to the tools properly."

"Everyone sit tight, I row quite fast," Jin Luo especially instructed the cameraman sitting in the last row.

Before they could react, they saw Jin Luo grasp the oars and rush toward the river's center at great speed.

Everyone was stunned.

The reason was that her rowing speed was faster than a car, like a speedboat, and she darted out in a flash.

"Am I seeing things?" Xiao Yuan rubbed his eyes, in disbelief.

This couldn't be real, could it?

After the rest of the group members regained their composure and dropped their jaws, they hurriedly chased after Jin Luo's team. If they couldn't be first, they didn't want to end up last either.

So, the two trailing teams, in order not to be the last, exerted all the strength they had, frantically rowing forward.

The potential of humans is limitless; stimulated by Jin Luo's actions, their rowing speed surged.

The director and staff members sitting on the bank watching their filming process were already petrified.

Chen Yousheng and Li Xiaolei, sitting on the boat, were in complete disarray.

The cameraman holding the camera nearly sent his equipment flying.

Once the boat stopped, they reached the center of the river, and all around them were little baskets of food.

The food on top wasn't real food but little cards made with pictures.

They needed to figure out which Gourmet Card could be selected as number one.

Since they didn't know which it was, everyone wanted to win with quantity.

Li Xiaolei prepared to stand up from the boat and found that it was very easy to capsize.

"Let me do it," Jin Luo said.

She was light on her feet and quickly stood up. "Give me the fishing tools."

Then Chen Yousheng handed her a bamboo pole, one end of which had a small fishing net attached. They just needed to scoop up the Gourmet Cards floating on the river's surface.

Each card was tied to a small stone, and if they were not careful and overturned the basket, the cards would sink to the bottom of the river along with the stones.

So they had to fish with great caution.

The people with Chen Fei, seeing that Jin Luo's group had already reached the river's center, looked very unpleasant. She hadn't been happy for the entire day yesterday.

She was barely maintaining her facial expression in front of the camera when the cameraman captured this scene.

Suddenly, Jin Luo noticed a spot in the center of the river sparkling; her eyes lit up, a treasure had appeared.

With that, she began paddling toward it.

Chen Yousheng, not knowing what was going on, said, "Sister Jin Luo, we're off course, all the Gourmet Cards are gathered over there."

"It doesn't matter, we can already take first place," Jin Luo replied.

She had already fished up the gourmet treasure a moment ago; so, why bother scooping up some useless cards?

After hearing Sister Jin Luo's words, Chen Yousheng and Li Xiaolei felt puzzled; they had only just fished up one small basket.

"Is this the spot? Try fishing here, there's a treasure in the river," Jin Luo said, stopping her boat at a place with a small whirlpool.

Chen Yousheng was entirely bewildered, "Oh, okay..."

With that, he took the bamboo pole with the fishing net and started fishing.

The other two groups who had caught up saw them not scooping up Gourmet Cards but instead fishing in an empty area, and everyone was confused.

"What are they doing?" Xiao Yuan asked, looking at their boat with only one small basket.

They had arrived very early; how had they only fished up one?

Chang Yu also looked on curiously. Seeing Jin Luo's group slacking, Chen Fei quickly said, "Let's hurry up and fish; this way we'll be in first place."

Having said that, she urged Chang Yu and another team member to act quickly.

And she herself sat in the boat without helping at all.

Chang Yu and the other team member were both boys and had no objections to this; after all, girls had less strength for such tasks.

Meanwhile, seeing Chang Yu's group quickly starting to fish, Xiao Yuan grew anxious as they caught one after another correctly.

He sighed and said, "Which Gourmet Card can earn us a place? I don't want to eat plain rice."

Jin Luo, who was very close to their boat, just happened to hear his words. She turned and pointed to the small basket beside his boat, "There, that one below your boat, it will get you second place."
