Birthday (2)

Noah didn't know anything about Jane's talk with Berth, his all focus was on greeting the guests. Although only close friends and relatives were invited, they still add up to more than 40 people.

"You look quite good today. It seems that you were taught some manners tear bag." Noah greeted Hilary Duff. They have become very good friends since the set of 'Cody Banks' especial since Noah sang a song for Hilary on her birthday.

"Humph.. Its just your eyes are wrong. I have always been a mannered lady unlike someone whose whole room was always dirty." Hilary also didn't hold back and taunted.

Noah was caught off guard and didn't know what to say now. There were so many guests around, so he couldn't speak anything more bad, so he just shrugged, "I am now an adult. So I will not be petty to compete with kids."

Who are you calling a kid."

"Of course, you."

Hilary wanted to further argue but thinking that what he said was true. Although Noah has not become an adult yet, he's still 16 now and not a minor anymore. "I will also be sixteen soon."

"You will, but after eight months."

Noah took Hilary to introduce her to his other friends and family and then continued his boring task of greeting the guests.

The birthday event started and Noah was called by Jane to cut the cake. He cut the cake together with Jane, Alicia and Grandma Ella.

"Happy Birthday Noah."

"Happy sixteenth Birthday."

The cake cutting was completed and after it was a simple dinner. There were many minors today, so no wine was presented. All the guests left soon and only Theo and Mike were left. Mary also left as she had to go back now.

"Let's start opening the gifts." Alicia immediately started asking. Noah was also stimulated by her words and wanted to check the gifts he had recieved.

"Mom, Can we." both started asking Jane's permission.

Jane wanted to refuse and ask them to open it tomorrow, but seeing there eager faces, she agreed. Anyway now only Mike and Theo were present and they were not considered much outsider now. They have been now Noah's agent and manager since many years now, and are not much different from a family.

Seeing Jane didn't refuse, both Noah and Alicia ran to the gifts placed in living room. This birthday, Noah recieved many gifts including from his co-actors and new friends.

The gifts were soon unpacked. Although most of them were common gifts like watches, shirts, shoes, etc. But there were also some special gifts he received. Theo gave him an expensive modified piano. It seems to be custom made. Max gave him custom made shoes set. Mom's friend Aunt Berth sent him another piano but it seemed to be an antique piece. Nana gave him a handmade sweater, New mobile phone from Jane and the most precious, a family drawing from Alicia. Most of the gifts were expensive and precious.

"Mom, Are these all the gifts?"

"Yes these are. Is something missing?"

"I think a friend's gift is not among them." Noah couldn't find Tom's gift. Tom said that his gift would be delivered to him soon, but it is not here.

"Whose." Jane asked curiously. She herself managed all the gifts and nothing seems to be missing.

Noah didn't answer and continued searching. Suddenly the door bell rang. Noah didn't pay attention to it but Jane's voice called him, "Noah, come here."

Noah went outside the house and saw that Jane and Mike were talking to a person. Seeing him coming, Jane spoke: "They say that someone sent you a gift and were specially instructed to give it you personally."

This caught Noah's intrest. He moved close to the person and asked, "Who sent the gift."

"I don't know sir. I am only instructed to give this parcel and gift to you. They said you will understand after reading." Saying this much, he handed a letter.

Noah took the letter and opened it. Only a word "from T" was written. He immediately understood. It was Tom's gift. He nodded to the person and said, "Its OK. You can give it to me."

The person obeyed and gave Noah the wrapped gift box and said, "Sir this is the compensation gift and your birthday present is outside."

Noah nodded and followed the person outside the house walls with Jane, Mike and Alicia. As they moved outside, a brand new car was wrapped and parked outside. The person handed Noah the brand new keys and said, "Happy Birthday sir."

Noah was stuck and others were also the same. He never thought that Tom sent him a new car. It's too expensive as a gift. He hurriedly asked, "Is it really for me?"

"Yes Sir."

Noah didn't know what to say now. Jane's voice immediately came from the side, "Explain all this."

He knew that he had to say so he said, "I will tell you inside."

After that, Mike helped to park the new Austin Martin in garage.
