Chapter - 6
"Chen Haoyu has brought nothing but disgrace to us," an old, skinny man among the bunch spoke up, stroking his long, white beard. His voice carried the weight of centuries of wisdom. "Instead of using his power for the betterment of our world, he has misused it, defiling several wives and daughters. His life merely brings disgrace to our world."
The room fell silent, all eyes turning to Li Mingzhi. He was the most respected immortal among them, the eldest and the wisest. His wisdom was revered, his words carried an authority that none dared to question. His vote was considered one of the most valuable in the immortal world.
"And now it is your duty to avenge your women," Li Mingzhi declared, his gaze sweeping across the assembly. His words were not just a statement but a call to action, resonating deeply with the gathered immortals, "And we need to do something very drastic."
Li Mingzhi had lived a solitary life, dedicating himself to the study of talismans and the ancient ways of cultivation left behind by the fore bearers. He was like a guardian to all the other immortals, a beacon of knowledge and strength. His presence alone was a reminder of their duty and their honour.
Even the likes of Moon God, the Sun Emperor, the Phoenix Lord and the Water king would often visit the old man and wait for days and weeks just to get his guidance. So every word he spoke, carried a lot of power and will behind them. Not just in strength, but the backing from Yueliang Shen, Ming Zhao, Shin Jian and Feng Jun as well.
Everybody looked at each other, fear mingling with determination in their eyes. They all wanted to end Chen Haoyu's reign of terror over their wives, daughters and women in the family. But none wished to face his wrath directly. The thought of confronting him was terrifying, yet the injustice could no longer be ignored.
"Yes, we should do something," one of the immortals spoke out, breaking the silence, "Chen Haoyu has been very troublesome. He is sleeping around with our wives without any remorse."
"Yeah, I agree with him," another immortal, a bulky and beefy figure with a scowl etched deep on his face, added. His voice was thick with rage. "Many wives and daughters have been defiled by that bloody rascal, and it is just a slap to our bloody masculinity." It was evident he had also caught someone from his household in Chen Haoyu's embrace, and the humiliation still burned fresh in his mind.
The murmurs of agreement grew louder, the initial fear beginning to transform into collective outrage. Yueliang Shen felt the shift, sensing that the immortals were finally ready to channel their anger into action.
"Chen Haoyu thrives on our fear," Yueliang Shen said, his voice steady and strong. "But together, we are more powerful than he could ever imagine. We must combine our strengths, our skills, and our knowledge. We need to devise a plan that will strike at the heart of his power."
"Yes, we need to catch that rascal and show him his place. He has done enough damage," another immortal thundered, his voice echoing through the hall.
Suddenly, the room erupted with shouting and exclamations, each immortal voicing their grievances. Tales of wives and daughters defiled by Chen Haoyu poured out, fueling the collective rage. Their Profound Qi surged in their anger, creating a palpable pressure that seemed to crackle in the air.
"Silence," bellowed Li Mingzhi, his voice cutting through the din like a blade. The room fell quiet, every eye turning to the venerable elder. He rose from his chair and walked to the podium where Yueliang Shen was standing. Yueliang Shen stepped aside, nodding respectfully, and took his seat.
"I know you all have been wronged by Chen Haoyu, and now he has crossed his limit of disgrace. His immoral acts have become a nuisance, and he must be punished," Li Mingzhi declared, his voice firm and resolute.
"But Li Mingzhi, who will face him?" Ming Zhao stood up, his face etched with worry. "None of us are strong enough to challenge him, and if we do, he will surely kill us." The room murmured in agreement. This was the harsh reality that had allowed Chen Haoyu to continue his reign of terror unchallenged.
"We should take this matter to the Heavenly Emperor. Surely, he can defeat Chen Haoyu. He cannot be stronger than the Heavenly Emperor," one immortal suggested, a note of desperation in his voice.
"No," Li Mingzhi said sadly, shaking his head. "His Majesty is too busy with his own entertainment to delve into this matter." A heavy silence fell over the room as the reality of Li Mingzhi's words sank in. They knew the Heavenly Emperor would do nothing to help them. He wouldn't even listen to their pleas.
Even though it was the Heavenly Emperor who ruled the Immortal Realm, he hardly cared and stayed aloof from the matters that plagued his domain. Whenever someone tried to approach the Heavenly Emperor with a problem, they would be sent back by his guards, saying that His Majesty was busy.
Rarely had anyone been able to reach him, and even those who managed to gain an audience left without a solution. The Emperor would laugh at their pleas, dismissing their concerns with a wave of his hand, telling them to sort out their issues on their own.
"Then how are we ever going to do anything about him?" asked Ming Zhao, his voice trembling with a mix of fear and frustration.
"That is the bloody problem," Yueliang Shen seethed, his fists clenching in anger. "None of us can fight him, and His Majesty is just not interested. There is no solution." His voice echoed through the hall, reflecting the hopelessness he felt.
"Then we must become the solution," Li Mingzhi said, breaking the silence. His voice was calm but carried an undertone of steely determination. "The Heavenly Emperor has abandoned us, but we are not powerless. We have each other. We have our skills, our knowledge, and our combined strength. We will find a way."
Yueliang Shen stood up again, the fire of determination burning in his eyes. "We cannot rely on the Heavenly Emperor. This is our battle to fight. We need to come together, to combine our strengths and our knowledge. We need to be clever, to out think Chen Haoyu."
"We need a plan," Shui Jian, the Water King, spoke up, her calm voice a beacon of reason. "A strategy that exploits his weaknesses. We need to gather intelligence, learn his routines, his habits, and find his vulnerabilities."
"And we must prepare ourselves for the fight," added Feng Jun, the Phoenix Lord, his fiery wings spreading wide. "Our combined strength is formidable, but we must be strategic. We cannot face him head-on. We need to be smarter than he is."
"Chen Haoyu thrives on our fear," Ming Zhao, the Sun God, said, his golden aura illuminating the hall. "But we must turn that fear into strength. Together, we are stronger than he could ever imagine. We must be united in our purpose."
"Then it is decided. We Fight together."
