Calm before the storm

They were debating whether to tell Sophie or not, when a devilish voice rang out from the direction of the staircase and a young lady alighted from the staircase, still in her pajamas. Her messy hair was all over the place. Still, she looked charming in her messy appearance. Her drool had dried at the corner of her lips. Her eyelids were red and swollen, and it appeared that she had cried herself to sleep. Her lips were chapped, and she bit on them while asking, "What are you guys discussing?"

"Sophie, have you brushed your teeth?", C asked amused at her cute appearance. She looked like a lazy baby panda.

"Huh? What has this got to do with your conversation?", Sophie asked while lazily stretching herself and yawned a few times in succession.

"Answer me."

"No."

"Eew!! Get lost! Go and freshen up and then come for breakfast. Oh! It won't be breakfast anymore. Have brunch when you finally freshen up. Okay? Now, go...", Natalie nagged her and scolded her at the same time.

"Okay, okay, going. Stop nagging. 'Kay?"

Natalie shook her head when she found Sophie running towards her bedroom. She turned her vision towards the elders and said determinedly,"I'm going to tell her everything. Do you have any more objections? She ought to know the truth. We can't hide each and everything from her everytime. If we continue doing these things, she will go away from us. She already has an inkling of each and everything. She has a number of experts under her." She took a deep breath after saying her piece.

"I agree with you, my child. Let's tell her." Grandpa Po said kindly. Natalie was surprised at how easily he changed his mind. Seeing Grandpa Po agreeing with Natalie, others halfheartedly agreed to tell Sophie about the ongoing events.

After Sophie went to her bedroom, she immediately called her subordinates to find out about any suspicious activities that might have happened in the city while she was absent. She instructed them on specific matters, hung up the phone, and opened her wardrobe.

She stood there for a long time deciding what to wear. At last, she found herself a short purple top while pairing it with a white long skirt. Satisfied with the choice of her dress, she pushed open the bathroom door and went inside to brush her teeth and shower. Slowly, she brushed her teeth and then turned on the shower handle. Cold drops of water touched the surface of her body and trickled down. Her pajamas were drenched and stuck to her long lean legs. Her straight hair fell on her back and was dripping wet from the shower. She hummed the tune of her favourite song, while dreaming about what would have happened if she did not have to face such crisis, so early in her life. She might have become an astronaut. That was her dream when she was a child.

While showering she tuned off from the whole wide world. Nothing could disturb her. She never thought that a shower could be so peaceful! Her stressed muscles relaxed and she felt her whole body was lighter. She enjoyed this moment of peace and tranquility.
