Hailey Xander is a young and beautiful lady in her late 20s who lost her parents in a fatal accident. Before her parents died, they willed all their assets to her, being their only heir. After the death of her parents, heartbroken Hailey got married to Ezra Cyrus, her childhood crush. On their wedding night, Ezra tricked Hailey to transfer all her inheritance to him, Hailey genuinely loved and trusted Ezra, so she agreed and signed the papers without reading them. After Ezra gained full rights to the Xander's assets, Ezra and his mother began maltreating Hailey. Hailey was abused and maltreated by Mrs. Lydia, Ezra's mom, she did not receive any love from her husband, rather Ezra brought home his mistress, Hailey's best friend, Sasha Parker. Hailey was treated like a slave until they decided to throw her out on the street. After Hailey left, she found a job as a cleaner at “KING's ENTERPRISE”, the biggest and most powerful company in the country. Leonardo King, the CEO of the company, was persuaded by his Grandmother to marry Hailey. He approached her and offered her a deal,“ Marry me and I will help you get back everything you lost”.
Ezra and Shasa had spent the entire night in the cramped, uncomfortable police cell. Shasa was frightened, while Ezra was angry and frustrated. They had both made a huge mistake and now they were paying for it.
In the morning, Lydia received a phone call from the police station, informing her that her son had been arrested for assault and was being held in custody with his accomplice. She was shocked and upset, but she knew she had to act quickly to secure their release.
Lydia rushed to the police station, where she met with the officer in charge. The officer explained the situation to Lydia and asked her to sign an undertaking on behalf of Ezra and Shasa, promising that they would never go near Hailey or any of the King's properties again.
Lydia was reluctant to sign, but she knew it was the only way to secure her son's release. She signed the document and paid the bail fee, and then she was allowed to take Ezra and Shasa home.
Ezra, Shasa, and Lydia arrived at Ezra's house, the tension palpable between them. As soon as they entered, Lydia dropped her bag on the floor and quickly folded her shirt, her agitation apparent.
"Alright, someone better start talking," Lydia said, her voice firm and demanding.
Ezra and Shasa exchanged a nervous glance before Ezra stepped forward.
Ezra took a deep breath, knowing that what he was about to say would be difficult for his mother to hear. "Mom, we found a way to save the company. But...we had to buy the invite for one million dollars."
Lydia's eyes widened in shock. "One million dollars?!"
Ezra nodded, his face solemn. "Yes, we had no other choice. We had to act fast to save the company."
Lydia let out a gasp and sank to the floor, her hand covering her mouth in disbelief. "Oh my, one million dollars. How did you get that kind of money, I thought you bought this house and then invested the rest of what you got from Hailey's properties in your company?"
Ezra hesitated for a moment before continuing, "We sold Shasa's house."
Shasa, who had been sitting quietly on the floor with tears streaming down her face, let out a soft whimper at the mention of her home.
Lydia looked at her son, a mix of shock and anger on her face. "You sold Shasa's house? How could you do that without even consulting me?"
Ezra looked down, feeling guilty. "I know, Mom. It was a desperate move, but we had no other option. We had to save the company."
He looked at Shasa and then continued," After selling Shasa's house. We were able to pay Mr Frank and then secured an invite to the charity event. The plan was to meet the business Mogul, who I had issues with and then resolve our issue at the event. But when we got to the event we saw Hailey. So I told Shasa to go get revenge for the slap Hailey's Grandmother-in-law gave to you. Mom, we did not know that Hailey is the wife of the business Mogul we planned to see. It was after the slap that we knew that Hailey is his wife. Now my entire company has been shut down," He said as he fell to his knees weeping.
Lydia stood in stunned silence, trying to process everything that Ezra had just told her. As the weight of his actions sunk in, her shock turned to anger.
"Are you both stupid and dumb at the same time?"she scolded, her voice filled with fury. "How could you have attacked Hailey at an event and thought there won't be someone that would stand up for her? Was this the revenge you both promised me?"
Ezra and Shasa hung their heads in shame, knowing that Lydia was right to be angry. They had let their emotions get the best of them, and now they were paying the price.
"You could have made other plans but not slapping her in public," Lydia continued, her voice rising with each word. "Now you have lost everything you ever worked for. This house is the only thing you have left."
Lydia grabbed her bag and stormed out of the room angrily, leaving Ezra and Shasa to blame themselves for their foolish actions.
As soon as Ezra's mom left, the tension in the room began to rise. The silence was replaced by a heated argument between Ezra and Shasa.
"You made me sell my house and now I have nothing left,"Shasa shouted, her voice rising in anger.
Ezra clenched his fists, feeling his own anger rise. "I did what I had to do to save my company!" he yelled back. "You knew how important it was to me, and you agreed to help."
Shasa shook her head, feeling a wave of regret wash over her. "I was stupid to trust you," she said bitterly. "I should have known better than to believe that you had everything under control."
Ezra scoffed, feeling a surge of frustration. "And what about you? You went to Mr Frank to ask for his help. And rather than getting help, you got me a ticket to misery. You made things worse by telling Mr King that it was me who asked you to slap Hailey!"
Shasa threw her hands up in the air, feeling a mix of guilt and anger. "Oh!! So you blame me for your stupidity," she exclaimed.
They were still arguing when Shasa's phone rang. She answered it, not recognizing the number.
"Hello?" she said.
"Shasa, it's me, your boss," the voice on the other end of the line said.
Shasa's heart sank. She knew that this call was not going to be good news. "Yes, sir," she said nervously. "What can I do for you?"
"I've just received word about your little stunt at the charity event," the boss said, his voice cold. "I can't believe that you would do something so foolish and wicked. I can't have someone like you representing my company. You're fired, Shasa. Don't bother coming in tomorrow."
Shasa felt like the ground had fallen out from under her feet. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She had worked so hard for this job, and now it was all gone because of one mistake.
"I'm sorry, sir," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I didn't mean for any of this to happen. Please give me a chance to make it right."
But the boss was not interested in hearing her apologies. "It's too late for apologies," he said. "I can't work with someone who would do something like this. You're lucky I'm not pressing charges against you."
And with that, he ended the call. Shasa stared at her phone, feeling a mix of anger, frustration, and sadness wash over her. She had lost everything - her job, her house, and now her reputation. All because of one stupid mistake.
