Jesy walked out of the bar with her body still aching. She was just about to look for the parking lot to get her car, she needed to be in the great comfort of her home, her room precisely, but she finally realized that she parked the car somewhere else when the car stopped moving yesterday.
Today was such a bad day like every other day but today seem worse. She had no money on her and her car was somewhere away from the bar.
Jesy was so frustrated at the sudden turn of event, she wanted to scream out loud to the seventh heaven for causing her such misfortune but she had no little energy left in her to scream.
Thinking back at how she woke up in an unfamiliar room, she sighed. She wanted so much to cry but she found no tears to shed. Any normal woman would have been in a pool of tears after finding out that they were raped without even knowing but here she was, she didn't know how to react to the outcome.
She just had a one night stand without her own knowledge, that could pass as rape, right?
With how she dressed, she was sure passers-by would not peel their eyes of her. It felt as if the whole world knew of what had happened to her and it made her skin crawl. She needed to find a way to get a means of transportation back home. Trekking was the only option she could think of.
With her body aching all over, she started trekking. It was almost thirty minutes and Jesy could feel her legs shaking coupled with the bad headache, she was also hungry. Any more movement forward and her wobbly legs would give way.
Just then, a black jeep pulled up beside her, but she didn't bother looking at it, it wasn't of her concern at the moment. But the car honked, it was so loud that it made her flinch and finally she turned around to see what was wrong with the car.
The car door opened and she saw a man come out and when the man finally came out of the car, she got a better view of him. Looking only once, she turned around and planned to keep walking regardless of how tired she was.
"Jesy! Hold on!"
The man called. It was the voice that Jesy never wanted to hear again. The voice that did nothing but sang lies to her ears endlessly. She wanted nothing to do with the owner of the voice. Jesy didn't bother stopping and continued walking.
Josh was deeply astonished, seeing the way she was dressed early in the morning. Since when did she started wearing big suits? He also noticed how oddly she walked but that was not why he wanted to see her.
"Jesy! Can you just hear me out? I have something to say to you."
His voice sounded so desperate but it had no effect on Jesy, not anymore.
Jesy was surprised at herself. She realized that she no longer felt that prickly pain she used to feel in her chest whenever she saw him or thought about him. She wasn't even feeling angry at all.
She stopped and looked at him, he was already standing behind her, looking as handsome as ever but she wasn't infatuated with that face as before.
"Good morning Mr Anderson, how do you want me help you?"
Jesy's voice sounded so calm and distant that it caught Josh by surprise. He knew she was angry with him but he didn't expect things to come this far.
"Mr Anderson? Since when did I become Mr Anderson to you?
Josh's voice was filled with pain and shock, it was almost very low like a whisper. There was so much he wanted to say to Jesy but seeing her reaction towards him, he knew this wasn't the best time to talk because it might end up being useless.
"If you have nothing important to say, I beg to take my leave."
Jesy sounded so calm on the outside but only she knew the turmoil she was feeling on the inside, she didn't want Josh to drag on with what he was saying, she just wanted to go to her house and have a good sleep after what had happened to her.
"Fine, allow me to give you a ride home."
Josh said as he looked at her directly into her eyes, he didn't want to miss any reaction from her.
"That won't be needed, am very much capable of taking myself home. Thank you and have a great day."
Jesy turned and was about to continue trekking when she felt a finger wrapped itself around her arms, she frowned at the sudden movement. Turning around, she saw it was Josh holding her hand and stopping her from moving.
"You can't say no."
Josh firmly said, his eyes looking intently at her face. He felt hurt that she wanted to reject his offer of helping her.
Jesy stared at Josh, she thought about it. It wouldn't kill to get a free ride and besides, she had no other way back home and considering how she was already very tired, she was sure she might pass out on the road.
"Fine, now you can let go of my hands."
He let go of her hands, happiness were soaring in his eyes. He directed her to the car and opened the backseat of the car for of her but Jesy surprised him by opening the front passenger seat and climbed in, leaving him totally flabbergasted. She didn't even want to sit in the same space as him.
Jesy entered and sat beside the driver, not bothering about the other person sitting at the back seat.
As the car moved, she felt more relieved and rested her head on the window, her eyes closed but she wasn't sleeping. The car rode for minutes, almost reaching an hour before it stopped in the front of her house.
Jesy climbed down, she was indeed thankful that she let Josh take her home. She gave a slight bow to the driver and Josh.
"Thank you for the ride Mr Anderson."
Without waiting or bothering for a reply, she walked to the entrance of the house and opened it but it wasn't locked with a key.
