Samael unloaded an entire magazine from his anti-material rifle as the undead move towards him, funneling into the tunnel from the transit system. The bottleneck allowing for the rifle to show it's full potential.
By luring the hoard into the tunnels, he was buying Lilith a solid hour to find a ship and pack up their gear.
He used mini-bursts of his thrusters to move back in spurts as he continued to fire the rifle. The occasional undead that was met in the tunnel as he moved backward would become rotting paste as he threw back kicks with the thruster bursts assisting.
"Lilith. How are things going?"
After a pause, his com spat out a calm reply.
"Not bad. Found a ship. Unfortunately it's fuel rods are not installed. I'm in the maintenance storage grabbing them. Give me 30 minutes, then get your ass here ASAP."
He sensed she meant: "Don't think I wont leave you."
Sam sighed, loading another mag into his rifle.
He had traveled several hundred of meters underground and was approaching a QP(1) Maglev train that was out of operation. Pulling the last of the claymores on himself, he planned to wire the train and collapse the tunnel via booby-trap.
As he made the motions to lay the first claymore mine, Samael's instincts screamed out at him. In only a fraction of a second from the initial warning that fired off in his brain, his suit's on-board Neural Prediction System kicked in bending his body, at an inhuman speed, backward. His right arm lifted the anti-material rifle and aimed towards the tunnel opening to the side of train.
With only millimeters to spare, an object fired past his ribcage, distorting the air as it passed. The suit registered a pressure warning equivalent of 20 atmospheres, giving testament to the speed and density of the object that passed and it's effect on the air in the tunnel.
His rifle fired out, the anti-material rifles bright flash illuminating the darkness as it unloaded it's massive rounds towards where the object originated at.
The rounds penetrated another train in the distance, the explosion's shock wave shattering the windows of the train he was planning to rig with explosives.
Samael frowned. He knew the object thrown was organic. Much like a tusk or horn. The laughing demon from before didn't have even 1/20th the strength of what threw that spear.
He didn't smell blood from that direction. He knew he didn't kill what was there. He immediately ejected his spent magazine and reloaded, pushing his senses to the limit.
Whoever it was was at minimal a SATAN class being. Also very cleaver, not giving way it's position to do the usual fear-mongering speeches that demons tend to do.
"Damn man. I really thought that was gonna hit. You're really damaging my pride, y'know?"
Samael was stunned as a figure came out of the darkness, covered in scales. It was the leviathan demon that was hunting him, without his knowledge.
Samael laughed a bit, really regretted his compliment. From the bottom of his heart.
"...you could have been a boss. Yet your IQ limits you to a mini-boss, y'know?"
Samael laughed, his critique not being a very veiled insult.
The demon vanished as Sam blinked. He raised up his right arm in a block to his left while at the same time throwing a kick to his right side. The sounds of graphine striking scale rang out in the tunnel as his left arm deflected the demon's spiked tail and his leg connected with the demon's scaled fist.
"WHO'S A MINI-BOSS, ASSHOLE!?"
He hit his sore spot. His proud lineage didn't mean much in hell and his family has been reduced to doing bitch work for hundreds of years. He had ambition! He didn't plan to have his head up Asmodeus' ass forever!
The leviathan demon faded away as Samael's armor generated heat, it's power output increasing dramatically. He jumped up, the ground tearing away as the silhouette of the demon's leg tore through the ground, stone being fired into the side of the near-by train.
Sam's leg fired out, after-images causing sonic booms as they tore through the air at various angles. The occassional sparks rang out as they were thrown off course from the demon's vital spots, the ground collapsing from the deflected energy.
Unfortunate undead that made it within 20 meters of the battle were torn to shreds from the shockwaves. The tunnel showing signs of stress eating away at it's structural integrity.
Sam threw himself to the left, spinning through the air like a top. Several scale daggers fired off below himself, almost taking his legs with them. A black ball fired off at the demon, his head moved by centimeters, barely avoiding the projectile. He soon felt danger at a crazy level, causing him throw his tail out to the wall closest to himself, pulling his body out of the range of the ball's rotation. He didn't see the glint of the monomolecular wire until at a safe distance. Blood trickled down from his head...one of his medium-sized horns was no longer attached to himself.
Cold sweat formed on his back as he soaked in his almost death.
"F-f-fuck me. That was close. THAT WAS CLOSE."
He cursed at Asmodeus in his head. He had to catch this monster in human skin ALIVE!?
He wanted to cry.
Samael whistled.
"Not bad. For a mini-boss, you're doing pretty good."
The leviathan demon didn't have a rebuttal. He instantly replaced his spent magic tags on his body with fresh ones and stored power for another round of attacks.

Lilith found the last fuel rod she needed. The Cerberus units were busy unloading the gear on the ship as she tossed the rod containers onto a transport truck. She would occasionally feel the ground quake as she worked. Looking at her watch, she was 20 minutes into the deadline she set for Samael.
"...You better get your ass here after 30 minutes are up."
A pair of hands reached out to grab at her from behind as she loaded the last rod. As it seemed she was about to be a snack for a walking corpse, she side-stepped.
The corpse's arms fell to the floor, her bloody blades glimmered as she effortlessly swiped her blade again. The head falling off moments after she jumped into the truck.
