Ch. 11 The bane of my existence and getting sorted.

"YOU ARE THE WIZKID!!" ugh that name is the bane of my existence every time I hear someone call me that a part of me dies every time. As to how I got that name and why I hate it. I was giving an interview about Chatterbox's success and where is the company going to go in the future and about a potential rival company, as most people knew I my only condition to give an interview was that the article would have nothing to do with the infamous Rita seeker.

But somehow she managed to get the talking points of the interview and somehow convinced the editor to let her write the article and that is how she named me the Indian Wizkid.

When I saw that article I was furious at that editor and got him fired and Rita also got under heavy fire and after that day I wouldn't give an interview unless someone from my family was present with me.

I looked at Hermione and said, "Can you please not call me that name please miss?".

As soon as Hanna heard the name the light bulb went on in her head "YOU ARE THE WIZKID THE INVENTOR OF CBOX!!!"

"Can everybody calm down, and yes I was the one who invented the 'Cbox'", it was the first time I heard someone call it that.

"What did you wanted.....Miss?"

Hermione broke from her daze and said "Hermione Granger"

I got up from my seat walked toward her took her hand and kissed her knuckles "It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss. Granger" she had a face as red as a tomato

I continued "And as for your question no I have not seen a Toad, would you like my help to find it?" she was still a bit shocked and just nodded.

We went to the conductor and asked him he could make an announcement for the missing toad and after a few minutes a third-year student more specifically it was Cedric Diggory who had found the toad after that little quest we all went to our compartments and during this time the lunch was also prepared so I escorted the girls to the buffet compartment and had our lunch after lunch I brushed up on some studies while the girls just talked we were now coming close to Hogsmeade so we put on our robes.

Just as the train stopped an announcement was made to leave your pets and your trunk and that it would be taken separately I was hesitant to leave him but I had to comply with the rules. The first years would be taken on a boat sadly cause I don't like water.

After the train stopped I sadly had to leave Dante in the compartment I told him to be a brave boy and comply with the officials and not make trouble for them after some pets and treats he agreed and I left him there and as we got out all of us heard "First years! First years over here!!" the voice came from the towering Half-Giant Rubeus Hagrid.

Sussan, Hanna, and I along with a boy were on the same boat as we saw the lit-up Castel we all were in awe we were taken to a dock and Hagrid lead us up to the Castel and asked: "Everyone here?", after that he knocked on the Castel door 3 times.

The door swung open and Professor McGonagall greeted us at the door in her iconic outfit "Everyone here Hagrid?".

"Yes, professor I counted them myself" I just thought to myself hagrid is like a big lovable teddy bear dude I love this guy.

"Thank you, Hagrid now children if you will follow me" she leads us to the entrance hall which was huge the stone walls were lit with torches the ceiling was way too high we were now in front of a giant double door with metalwork we all could hear the people behind the door talking and laughing.

"Welcome to Hogwarts," said prof. McGonagall to us "The start of term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Hall, you need to be sorted into your Houses. The sorting ceremony is crucial because you will spend your seven years with your housemates growing and changing a house is something akin to a family" as she said that in my mind there was a soundtrack playing 'Its been a long day by Charlie Puth'.

She continued after a pause "The four houses are Griffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each house has its noble history and each produces outstanding wizards. While you are at Hogwarts your achievements will earn you house points, while any rule-breaking will lose house points the house which has the highest points will win the House Cup, which is a great honor. I hope each of you will be a fine addition to your houses".

A great honor what a farce it does nothing but breed more hatred toward each house and for what a useless cup and people thought that the system was fine for keeping students in check and every student believed that all the teachers were unbiased which was also not true, Slytherin had a 6-year winning streak all because of Snape.

I was not going to be part of this stupid game and decided to stay out of trouble and just focus on my studies. "The sorting ceremony will begin shortly I suggest everyone tidy yourselves up. I shall return in a few moments. please wait patiently" and she left us there.

I asked the girls "how do I look?", I was about 5' had swept up jet black hair and I was wearing a dark violet shirt with a black tie that had cufflinks that were dull golden, and I wore black trousers also had a ring on my right hand on my index finger and I was wearing robes.

The girls looked at me and said "You look nice especially your hair".

There was no clear rule as to what the uniform was so people usually wore white shirts with dark blue almost black trousers. needless to say, I kinda stood out from the crowd the girls were wearing the normal uniform unlike me.

I gave them both compliments "Well, you ladies look amazing".

Most of the plot progressed as usual prof. came to take us to the Great Hall and by Gods, the Great Hall looked stunning the hall was lit by thousands and thousands of candles which just floated in the air over four long tables. On the tables sat the entire schools' students. These tables were laid with glittering silverware. At the top of the hall was another long table where teachers were sitting.

Prof. made us stand in a single line. There were hundreds of students staring at us particularly at Harry and me, Harry for obvious reasons and at me because I was dressed differently.

As I stared up I could see the sky and also got the lines "The ceiling is bewitched to look at the sky outside. I read about it in Hogwarts: A History". I then looked at the stool to see an old dusty hat and as in books, it began singing which I am not a fan of, to be honest, and also not a fan of the school song.

The entire Hall burst into applause as the hat finishes its son. It bowed to each of the tables and then became quiet again. Many students were not too keen to put a dusty old hat on their head I was also among them.

Prof. Mc. stepped forward, holding a list of names of students on a parchment "When I call your name sit on the stool and put on the hat and you will be sorted into your house" she started to call names and the first name was mine "Aditya Chatterjee".

I stepped up and walked up to the stool and there were many murmurs because of the way I was dressed and because many people knew of my achievements I took my wand out and used Scourgify on the hat many people were surprised by my actions but it was justified as to how to do you expect someone to wear that dusty hat. "Thank you for cleaning me young lad I needed that I don't know why no one decided to do so earlier."

"No need to thank me, Mr Hat".

I then put the hat on my head and the hat said to me "Now where should I put you?, you have enough courage for Griffindor, you value hard work like a Hufflepuff, your thirst for knowledge is a fine fit for Ravenclaw and you have huge ambitions for which you can do anything a good match for Slytherin"

"If you don't mind can you please put me in Ravenclaw?"

"Why Ravenclaw?"

"It gives me more time to study and away from any drama that might occur in school"

"If you say so" and the Hat shouted at the top of his non-existing lungs "Ravenclaw" and I got huge applause many of the teachers looked at me approvingly as to say 'Obviously'.

I then took my seat with my fellow housemates and most of them already knew who I was because all of them had the now dubbed Cbox. The rest went according to the plot Sussan and Hanna went to Hufflepuff, Hermione, Harry, and Ron went to Griffindor. Draco, and his goons to Slytherin.

After everyone was sorted I got acquainted with Jake Thompson he was a short-looking chap who liked to eat and Blake Burley he was a muscular-looking fellow with 5'2" height we were both the tallest looking blokes in the first year.

After that Dumbledor stood up and said "Welcome all of you to the new year at Hogwarts! Before we start the banquet I would like to say a few words, Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!" after speaking those words the plates got filled with foods and everyone ate their fill after the dinner was done Dumbledor gave his usual speech about the forbidden forest but added that part about the painful death at the third floor.

After everything was said and done we were taken to our house dorms which was a tower for Ravenclaw and security measures, we had to guess the password for the entrance to the dorm which I don't think is a good security measure.

After getting in we were given an orientation by our House head Prof. Flitwick. After the orientation all the first years were given their separate rooms which I loved, after seeing my suitcase and Dante on my bed I jumped on my bed and Dante jabbed me on my forehead after getting a shower in my suitcase and changing my clothes.

I made a list of things I wanted to do in my first year 1. To find the room of requirement 2. What is behind the chambers 3. getting Rowena Ravenclaw's diadem and if possible getting the Philosophers stone. After making the list I went to sleep.
