Guide My Way

The eighth book for my Doctor Who fan fiction with elements of RWBY, Symphogear, Madoka Magica, Kid Icarus Uprising, the MCU, Sherlock, Torchwood, Ace Attorney, A Certain Scientific Railgun, and SAO in there. It will have me, the Doctor, obviously, the companion, whoever it might be. It will also have characters from RWBY, SAO, Symphogear, Madoka Magica, Kid Icarus Uprising, Sherlock, Torchwood, Ace Attorney, A Certain Scientific Railgun, and the MCU in there, all of us interacting with each other. The traveling, the hijinks, the running and traveling continues, and this could be the end for our heroes in the story.

Lightning Battle

Skyworld...

Pit and Jared rushes to the door to start the adventure.

"Moving out!" Pit said.

"What the?!" Jared exclaimed.

A beam shoots at Pit and Jared, forcing them to jump back.

"Augh!" Pit said.

Pit and Jared leap through the door as it becomes engulfed in flames.

"Is the door busted?" Pit asked.

"The door is the least of our concerns. Hades has rejoined the fray." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Oh, no!" Pit said, worried.

"Oh, yes. Now we have both his AND Viridi's forces wreaking havoc!" Palutena said, telepathically.

"Are you kidding me?!" Jared exclaimed.

"The Underworld Army and Forces of Nature are out for blood—each other's AND both of yours."

Jared decided to open the telepathic link to Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate. Mostly because he hasn't talked to those three in a while. He then closed his eyes and got an image of Thanatos in his head.

"Hello." Fate said, telepathically.

"Hi." Nanoha said, telepathically.

"How are you?" Hayate asked, telepathically.

"Dealing with Hades and Viridi." Jared said, looking down at his Palutena's Bow. "Who's on who's side?"

"On the Underworld side, Hades has put Thanatos back into play as commander." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Thanatos?! He's still alive?!" Pit exclaimed.

Jared closed his eyes and got an image of Phosphora whose face is obscured in the shadows in his head.

"Apparently. And leading the Forces of Nature is Phosphora." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Phosphora?" Pit asked.

Phosphora zips by, "Yes? You called?"

"So you're commanding the Forces of Nature?" Pit asked.

"It's funny how the Time-Space Administrative Bureau and the Squad of Nexus Guardians get along swimmingly. And the Underworld Army and the Forces of Nature don't get along." Jared said, sadly.

"Tell me about it." Hayate said, telepathically.

"Our first collaboration with Symphogear was interesting." Nanoha said, telepathically.

"It was." Fate said, telepathically.

"We're in the middle of something here! Can this wait?" Thanatos asked.

Thanatos, in the form of a glowing serpent-like dragon, flies past Pit and Jared.

"So Thanatos was resurrected as...a glowworm?" Pit asked.

"I think the look he's going for is more glow dragon." Palutena said, telepathically.

"I guess this is what would be Coco Kiryu if she had a glow up." Jared said, smiling.

Pit and Jared fly closer to a battle between Phosphora and Thanatos.

"Wow, this is crazy!" Pit said, worried.

Phosphora and Thanatos fly down into a whirlwind.

"Super crazy. Nanoha and Fate usually hold back in their practice rounds." Jared said.

"We do that." Nanoha said, telepathically.

"We don't want to hurt each other. And the innocents civilians." Fate said, telepathically.

"It's the Underworld versus Nature, their commanders locked in fierce battle…" Palutena said, telepathically.

Palutena flies Pit and Jared in after them.

"I'm ready to pull the both of you out of there if things get out of control." Palutena said, telepathically.

"I can't believe Thanatos is still alive." Pit said.

"Same." Jared said, sadly.

"And quite perky, from the looks of things." Palutena said, telepathically.

Jared has been killed a couple of times at this point in the fan fiction series so far.

"It is a bit fair that he gets a revival. I died in a couple alternative timelines, the universe being reset, in a dream world, sending a missile up into the sky." Jared said, recalling every time he has died.

But the angel, Pit, on the other hand due to Jared being there. Pit hasn't been killed up to this point in the fan fiction series so far.

"But why does he get a second chance? It's not fair!" Pit said, angrily.

"Hmm...Thanatos, Pandora, Hewdraw...Hades revived them all from the old days. It must have taken some work to bring them back." Palutena said, telepathically.

"But this is Thanatos's third time around!"

"Thanatos is a bit of a...special case." Hades said, telepathically.

"You're telling me." Pit said.

"He is the god of death, after all. So he gets perks like evil powers and health insurance. And free soda."

"Resurrected from the dead—that's some health insurance!" Palutena said, telepathically.

"Yeah. American health insurance is expensive." Jared said, letting out a sigh.

"We have universal healthcare." Hayate said, telepathically.

"We do." Nanoha said, telepathically.

"But bringing people back from the dead…" Fate said, telepathically. "It isn't right."

"Yeah." Jared said, looking over at Pit.

Thanatos and Phosphora's battle is dragged close to Pit and Jared.

"Whoa!" Pit said.

They fly away from Pit and Jared.

"I gotta admit—he's fast! Must be all that free soda." Pit said.

"Lovely little Phosphora's no slouch in the fighting department, either." Hades said, telepathically.

"Ugh, will you stop trying to butter up all the ladies? It's gross." Palutena said, telepathically.

"There's nothing wrong with compliments." Viridi said, telepathically.

"Viridi! Where'd you come from?" Pit asked.

"Hi Viridi!" Jared said, excitedly.

"But Commander Phosphora must also be respected for her power!" Viridi said, telepathically.

"Anyway, Pit, Jared, just keep after Phosphora and Thanatos. It's great how they're wearing each other out like this. I mean, who knows? The two of you may have to fight them both at the same time." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Well, we all know how THAT would end." Viridi said, telepathically.

"Almost makes you take pity on Pitty and Flash Gordon." Hades said, telepathically.

"They aren't us." Nanoha said, telepathically.

"You three would have stopped this fight no problem." Jared said, happily. "With your magic."

"We would." Hayate said, telepathically.

"We can't help today." Fate said, telepathically. "Kind of busy where we're at."

"But we can watch."

Pit and Jared follow Phosphora and Thanatos out of the whirlwind.

"Thannypoo, are you OK?" Hades asked, telepathically.

"Oh, yes! I'm just peachy!" Thanatos said, happily.

"He doesn't seem peachy…" Palutena said, telepathically.

"That's because Phosphora combines the depeachifying power and speed of lightning!" Viridi said, telepathically.

Phosphora defeats Thanatos, "Finishing blow!"

"Aaah! Farewell cryyyyyyy!" Thanatos said, returning to his normal form and falls.

"Bravo! BraVO!" Viridi said, telepathically.

"Oh me oh my. Now whatever shall I do?" Hades asked, telepathically.

"She really brought the thunder!" Pit said.

"I said lightning, Pit! Sheesh, get it right!" Viridi said, telepathically. "Fate, you use lightning powers, right?"

"I do." Fate said, telepathically.

"Want to go head to head with Phosphora at some point?"

"Sure. Why not?"

"If only Nora was here." Jared said, happily. "Now that would be a shocking battle."

"Whatever. We'll just keep fighting without someone out there giving orders." Hades said, telepathically.

"Are you saying it makes no difference whether your troops have a leader?" Palutena asked, telepathically.

"They're all idiots. Seriously. I don't even know if any of them have actual brains." Hades said, telepathically.

"Where's Phosphora?" Pit asked.

"She must be recharging after her battle with Thanatos. Now's your chance. Let's hit her before she fully recovers." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Good idea!"

"Yup. It's an amazing one." Jared said, looking at Pit.

"We may not have the best dental plan, but justice is on our side!" Palutena said, telepathically.

"Now it's OUR turn to bring the thunder!" Pit said, excitedly.

"Even the most intelligent people can't survive a day without electricity, like Stephen Hawking." Jared said.

Pit and Jared approaches a whirling mass of clouds.

"Phosphora's in the middle of those clouds." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Persistent, aren't we?!" Phosphora exclaimed, telepathically.

"I'm going to open up a path through these storm clouds. Stay sharp!" Palutena said, telepathically.

Palutena opens up a tunnel through the thunder clouds and sends Pit and Jared in, where they encounter many Forces of Nature troops.

"This is intense!" Pit said.

"It is." Jared said, sadly.

"Hold on as best you can. Phosphora is definitely up this way." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Nope. There's nobody here." Phosphora said, telepathically.

"We can totally hear you!" Pit said.

"Phosphora is flirty." Fate said, telepathically.

Pit and Jared near the end of the tunnel.

"Energetic too." Nanoha said, telepathically.

"Just about there. Three...two...one...the both of you are out!" Palutena said, telepathically.

"Wow. This is more amazing in person." Jared said, in awe.

Pit and Jared arrive inside the thunder cloud, spotting the Thunder Cloud Temple in the distance.

"That place does look cool." Fate said, telepathically.

"This is the Thunder Cloud Temple. It's been abandoned since ancient times." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Here already? I didn't even have a chance to take a shower!" Phosphora said, telepathically.

"Too bad!" Pit said, angrily.

A blue beam shoots at Pit and Jared from the temple.

"Wah!" Pit said.

"Ow…" Jared said.

"I guess she's not completely spent after her battle with Thanatos." Palutena said, telepathically.

"It's just one fight after another. Today is not my day. The fortune Mistress Viridi read me didn't paint a very good picture either." Phosphora said, telepathically.

"Wait...Viridi reads fortunes?" Pit asked.

"I haven't encountered a fortune teller since 2008." Jared said. "Not since Faith."

"Faith?" Nanoha asked, telepathically.

"Who's Faith?" Hayate asked, telepathically.

"She told me the near future. Of what will happen if me and Torchwood brought back Owen." Jared said, thinking of the former medic of Torchwood Three.

"Owen Harper?" Fate asked, telepathically.

"Yes. He's been dead for a very long time now."

"I wonder what other services Viridi offers." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Anyway...it's on!" Pit said.

"This will be a fun battle, Phosphora!" Jared said, smirking.

"Looking forward to it!" Phosphora said, telepathically.

"Sending you two in!" Palutena said, telepathically.

Palutena flies Pit and Jared down towards the temple.

Thunder Cloud Temple…

Pit and Jared safely lands on the floor of the Thunder Cloud Temple.

"It looks like Phosphora is powering this place. You'll need to cut off the supply. Some of the pillars and walls are electrified. Don't get zapped!" Palutena said, telepathically.

Pit touches one of the electrified pillars or walls.

"Wah!" Pit said.

"Pit! Were you curious about what would happen?" Jared asked.

"Yes."

"Remember what I said about not getting zapped?" Paluten asked, telepathically.

Pit and Jared take an electrified elevator inside the temple.

"This level would be way easier if my sandals were rubber." Pit said.

"I'm wearing a pair of Converse." Jared said, smiling.

"You knew you would go to that place." Fate said, telepathically.

"It was bound to happen at some point."

"That is true. Jared does have the foresight." Nanoha said, telepathically.

"It does come in handy for him." Hayate said, telepathically. "Converse. An influence from the Doctor. I think."

"Pit, it's not my fault you conduct electricity so well." Phosphora said, telepathically.

"We'll see who's laughing when we shut the power down!" Pit said.

Pit and Jared take a Jump Pad up to another floor, where they find a diamond-shaped object surrounded by a barrier.

"I think that's a power supply to some of the areas in this temple. Destroying it will probably make life easier for you." Palutena said, telepathically.

Pit and Jared destroy the first power supply.

"Wooohooo!" Pit said.

"One down!" Jared said, smiling.

"That seemed to cut some of the power, so the two of you can move forward now." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Whatever. It's no skin off my back." Phosphora said, telepathically.

Pit and Jared enter a room with a train car transporting goods.

"It is to us." Jared said, rolling his eyes.

"Is that a train car?" Pit asked.

"There's something inside of it. Break it open, and I'll move its contents near the exit for you to grab." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Sure, go right on ahead." Phosphora said, telepathically.

"Aren't you going to put up a fight?" Pit asked.

"What do I care? This isn't my place."

"So you're basically squatting in this abandoned temple. Dignified." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Not squatting. Repurposing! Besides, I'll be out of here before too long." Phosphora said, telepathically.

"Why's that?" Pit asked.

"Because the free-spirited Phosphora isn't one to put down roots. Like a hobo. Anyway, I've been busy with the Underworld Army, so I've asked her to defeat you." Viridi said, telepathically.

"We'd like to see her try!" Pit said.

"Same. Phosphora is someone I could go to a club with." Jared said, smiling.

"Ooh, what bluster! What bravado! I guess I can't back down now!" Phosphora said, telepathically.

Pit and Jared proceed through the temple.

"Phosphora is busy recharging at the temple's center." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Got it." Pit said.

"That should be easy enough." Jared said, happily.

"Be careful." Nanoha said, telepathically.

"We don't want to lose you." Fate said, telepathically.

"Come back safe." Hayate said, telepathically.

"I will!" Jared said, excitedly.

"The both of you will need to move fast and get to her before she's done." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Absolutely, Lady Palutena!" Pit said.

"Absolutely, Lady Palutena! You're such a yes-man, Pit. Good thing you're so cute." Phosphora said, telepathically.

"You're...you're not just making fun of me now, are you?" Pit asked, blushing a lot.

"Aw, you're turning red! That's even cuter!"

"He embarrasses easily. Don't mind him." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Oh, don't give it a second thought...ma'am." Phosphora said, telepathically.

"Uh-oh…" Pit said.

"Here we go. This is like calling a friend of mine, Yang, she hates it when people call her 'top heavy'." Jared said, letting out a sigh.

"Did you just call me 'ma'am'? Are you trying to start something?" Palutena asked, telepathically.

"You're right, I'm sorry. You're MUCH too young to be called 'ma'am.'" Phosphora said, telepathically.

"You know as well as I do the lifespan of gods. And how about you? What's YOUR age?"

"I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours!" Phosphora and Palutena said, at the same time telepathically.

"For the record... I don't mind being called 'sir.'" Pit said.

"Yes, well, as much as I'd like to continue this delightful chat, I have things to do." Phosphora said, telepathically.

"I know it's difficult when she's flirting with you, Pit, but remember that she's the enemy." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Right." Pit said.

"I'm so used to flirting." Jared said, sadly.

"The Doctor and River?" Nanoha asked, telepathically.

"Amy and Rory?" Hayate asked, telepathically.

"Captain Jack Harkness?" Fate asked, telepathically.

"Yeah…" Jared said, frowning. "I'm so unphased when others do it to each other. But I love doing it to Clara."

Pit and Jared enter a room with an air vent and several spheres.

"There seems to be an air vent in that platform. Turn on the air to help you up. To get a current started, move the spheres to the correct place." Palutena said, telepathically.

Pit and Jared knock down a sphere.

"Sphere number one down!" Jared said, excitedly.

"Good job. There's a weak breeze now." Palutena said, telepathically.

Pit and Jared knocks down another sphere.

"Sphere number two down." Jared said, looking at Pit.

"The air current is stronger. Use it to carry you up." Palutena said, telepathically.

Pit and Jared knock down the third sphere.

"That's as strong as the air current is going to get. Hmmm…" Palutena said, telepathically.

Pit and Jared arrive on the highest floor.

"Neat! We can go higher depending on the strength of the air current!" Pit said.

"Brains AND brawn. They're the whole package!" Phosphora said, telepathically.

"I spent a lot of time with Team RWBY. But that was back then." Jared said, crossing his arms.

"Do you believe that they're alive?" Nanoha asked, telepathically.

"Everyone says that they are. I don't know."

"Maybe they are." Hayate said, telepathically.

"Miracles can happen. You have to make the best of it." Fate said, telepathically.

Pit and Jared enter a room with moving beams of electricity.

"Pay attention to the movement of those electric currents." Palutena said, telepathically.

"I think it's probably fine to touch them. Seriously, they're perfectly safe." Phosphora said, telepathically.

Pit and Jared go through another room and destroy the second power supply, opening a downward path.

"Power supply two down!" Jared said, smirking.

"You can hop on in! I set up a grind rail for the two of you to use." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Wow wow wooooow!" Pit said, excitedly.

"Grind rails, huh? Well, la di da! Wish we had the budget for grind rails…" Phosphora said, telepathically.

The Grind Rail escorts Pit and Jared to a long walkway outside the temple.

"This way goes to the center of the temple. Watch out, though—the route looks pretty treacherous." Palutena said, telepathically.

Along the path, a random conversation or weapon conversation may trigger.

"We lost track of your Aura a while back. Along with your mana signature." Hayate said, telepathically.

"What happened?" Fate asked, telepathically.

"Are you okay?" Nanoha asked, telepathically.

"I was the sonic screwdriver for a while." Jared said, crossing his arms. "Wasn't fun."

"How?"

"Displacement magic."

"Why? Why would you do that?" Fate asked, telepathically.

"It's a long story."

Pit and Jared heads back inside the temple and takes a Jump Pad to the boss door.

"Phosphora is just ahead." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Here so soon?" Phosphora asked, telepathically.

Pit and Jared arrive in the boss room and encounter Phosphora, who is lying in mid-air before switching to a sitting position.

"Hello there!" Phosphora said.

"Yeah. Not this time." Jared said, letting out a sigh.

Pit begins striking poses, "Attention, pet of Viridi! You'd better sharpen your claws! I am the servant of Palutena, goddess of light, and…"

Phosphora shoots lightning bolts at Pit's feet.

"Ow OWWW!" Pit said, angrily.

"I knew that would happen. So I didn't do my introduction this time." Jared said, laughing a lot.

"Enough blabbity blab. Now let's get to the main act!" Phosphora said, getting into a battling stance and the battle initiates.

"Don't run straight at her. Keep your distance, and wait till she's not moving." Palutena said, telepathically.

"My skin feels all tingly!" Pit said, worried.

"The air in here is electrified. It's good for the complexion, doncha know?" Phosphora asked.

"Just look at them go!" Viridi said, telepathically.

"And I thought the fighting outside was exciting! But it looks like the real action is in here!" Hades said, telepathically.

"Pit doesn't stand a chance! At least Jared thought of wearing shoes with rubber soles!"

"Want some popcorn?" Hayate asked, telepathically.

"Sure." Nanoha said, telepathically.

"Thanks." Fate said, telepathically.

"Glad you're enjoying the show, oh divine peanut gallery." Palutena said, telepathically.

"I, for one, am honored to have you all in the audience." Phosphora said.

"Who's the yes-man now? Kissing up to management won't help you, Phosphora!" Pit said, looking at Phosphora.

"Some of Phosphora's attacks can have a numbing effect." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Which isn't a problem when you can dash like I can!"

"Or wearing Converse like me! These were made for running!" Jared said, looking at Pit.

"Just move around to recover from numbness faster." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Got it."

"Watch out when you see Phosphora stop to gather energy. Once she has enough, she'll fire shots at the posts that ricochet towards you." Palutena said, telepathically.

Pit and Jared defeat Phosphora.

"Did you see THAT thunder?!" Pit exclaimed.

"No. 'Cause you CAN'T SEE thunder!" Phosphora said.

"I guess someone is out of shock." Jared said, smiling.

Epilogue.

Phosphora drops to one knee, sliding backward, "I take back what I said before. You're not cute at all!"

Phosphora rises and is teleported away.

"This can't be happening!" Viridi said, telepathically.

"We're coming for you next, Viridi!" Pit said.

"There's nowhere to hide, Goddess of Nature!" Jared said.

The Thunder Cloud Temple begins falling apart.

"Ouah!" Pit said.

"Oh." Jared said, his eyes widening. "This is bad."

"This place is going back to the dogs without lovely little Phosphora." Hades said, telepathically.

"Smarm it up while you still can, Hades. We'll be after YOU soon enough." Palutena said, telepathically.

A light shines down over Pit and Jared, whisking them away.
