The Flames Roar - 2

" Well, if you humans know so much about us, why did the other humans attack me on the spot without even listening to me talk ? You are the first human to talk to me." The flames roar asked.

" The knowledge regarding beasts is rather expensive according to human standards. But there's another reason…. " Claude paused before continuing.

" …..Greed. For humans you are just a bag full of riches. Even from the place where I got knowledge regarding you, there was also a list stating different prices of your body." Claude said while the flames roar felt chills running down his spine.

They finally arrived at their destination which was a cave in a small hill.

The flames roared and put Claude down and went inside the cave while keeping Claude by his side. Inside the cave there were three lionesses and 6 lion cubs. Claude noticed that one of the lioness was injured on her front right paw.

When they saw Claude entering the cave they roared but the flames roar calmed them down by hiding me behind him. He brought me near the injured lioness and nuzzled with her for a bit as if telling her that I am not enemy, I am friend.

" Do your thing." The flames roar said sitting near the lioness.

Claude touched the lioness and used the tier 1 healing spell to check her condition. Except for the injury and pain there was something else. It was some sort of poison but not a lethal one. It was just stopping her regeneration. Claude didn't know how to deal with poisons but there was a certain theory in his which he decided to implement. He used the tier 2 healing spell and sended a really small amount of mana. He converted that small amount of mana in darkness energy and destroyed a small part of the poison. He was happy that his theory succeeded. The reason why he sended only a small amount of darkness energy is because he still can't control high amounts of darkness energy. The mana of the lioness was resisting the darkness energy just like it was rejecting the poison. Claude was simply sending the darkness energy converted from both the lioness and his mana signature towards the poison. The mana signature is like an approval that even though the mana was from two different people it was the one and the same. The mana of one can't harm itself that's why the darkness energy created was not harming lioness and Claude both. And with it being led by Claude's residual energy the poison was being dealt with. Just that it was a slow and hard process which required his complete concentration.

It took Claude more than six hours just to deal with poison. The constant use of mana and mana regeneration left Claude breathless. After everything was done the lioness was completely healed but she was also tired due to the treatment.

" She is completely healed but just to be sure I want to check her for at least three days. She needs to rest for the same amount of time. The constant mana interference has left her tired." Claude said to flames roar.

" I understand, " the flames roar said.

" Can I ask you your name ?" The flames roar asked.

" Claude " Claude answered, a little confused.

" Cloud " the flames roar asked for confirmation.

" No, Claude," Claude said.

" Cloud " the flames roar said this time him being a little confused.

" Forget about it " Claude said, giving up on the beast's tongue.

" I hereby announce clouds as a part of my pride, in this region of the forest or the entirety of dark woods. If you ever face any problems, my pride and I will support and help you by all and every means possible." The flames roar said in the same fashion as a king giving a reward to someone.

The lionesses nuzzled at Claude, noting down his scent and started cuddling with him. Even the lioness which Claude treated licked his face and brought her head near his hands to be patted. The cubs didn't understand why their mothers first stopped them from going towards the stranger and now are loving him but they didn't think about it for long and started snuggling with him as well.

' Even this unintelligent beast understands my hard work. Would they also abandon me if they knew about my origins ? No, they have already accepted me as their own even though I am human. Only if humans were like this…'

Flames roar's small growl pulled him out of his nirvana and also from the warmth of the furry creatures.

" Me accepting you as the member of my pride was just my good will. I still have to pay you for treatment." Saying this flames roar asked Claude to follow him.

Claude followed him deep in the cave and appeared in front of a pile of armaments.

" Humans who fight me always end up dying. I collect everything possible from them though I don't have any use for them. Pick anything or everything of your liking." He offered.

There were only some normal swords and other useless stuff. What caught Claude's eyes was a book. This book was actually a grimoire and Claude clearly recognised it. Grimoire is a kind of a legacy of a strong mage. This is where mages store their spells and magic related stuff. Usually in a magic bloodline a grimoire is passed down for their children to use and learn the spells which are unique to them. But this grimoire had many artifacts, their usefulness and their recipes in it. Claude decided to keep the grimoire as he can ask his father about these artifacts or he can simply learn forge mastering, enchanting and rune smithing.

" You are just taking that book. Is there nothing else of your liking." The flames roar's pride threatened when he saw Claude nodding his head.

" Unacceptable, I am going to teach you beast magic along with hunting and real life fighting, if you accept it." The flames roar offered and Claude agreed. Even learning the beast's magic was enough to satisfy him.

After saying goodbyes to the flames roar's family he dropped Claude near the river and left. Today a lot of things happened and Claude was satisfied with today. He got to test out life and death magic on a living being while he also became the disciple of tier 4 beast or should we say a tier 6 flames mage. He also got a grimoire on artifacts which he will surely learn in future.

He decided to go home and rest for today. He was still cultivating every night in hope that when he reach the green core he will be able to meet his father.
