Chapter 1 | The Prime District

Steven walked inside the doors of the district revealing lights and noises. People were everywhere doing their things and hustling. The district was busy and very noisy, and Steven felt somewhat relieved. Then his legs began to shake, and his eyes slowly began to close, and he tumbled down on his knees onto the floor, passing out from exhaustion.

Steven began opening his eyes waking up in a room. He slowly rose from the bed noticing the smell of food. He stared off into the room which was neatly decorated with antique furniture. Then he noticed a mirror beside the bed. He slowly walked over to the mirror and stared at his reflection. His black hair was moderately messy but straight and his bangs extended down to his eyebrows. The hair on the sides of his head only extended down to the top of his ears.

He had dark gray eyes that only looked gray in bright light. He had dark bags under his eyes, but they weren't too obvious. Steven was around five foot seven and was a fifteen-year-old.

He wore a black T-shirt and black jeans wrapped around a brown belt.

Steven walked away from the mirror following the scent of food. He was pretty hungry although he didn't know whose house, he was in. He could hear someone humming in the kitchen and stepped in to see a guy cooking food.

"Hello?" Steven asks in confusion.

"Ah- your awake!" The Stranger said turning around facing Steven

"Yes, and you are?" Steven asks the stranger.

"My name's Rey, and I'm the guy who brought you here after you passed out in the hub." The stranger said introducing himself. Rey looked like a teen a little bit older than Steven. He wore a dark brown sweater and cargo pants. He had a very warm expression with light brown eyes and brown short hair. Since he was cooking, he had an apron on.

"Oh, so you, saved me?" Steven said.

"Yeah, I did. you were passed out in the main hub, and I just happened to pass by. Everyone was just staring at you. "Rey explained.

"Oh, I see. well, thanks for the help." Steven said.

"Do you care for some soup?" Rey asked Steven scooping up soup from a bowl.

"Ah, yes, thank you very much," Steven said happily taking a seat at the table.

"So, say, where the heck did you go before coming here. I mean your body was all bruised and scratched up." Rey said carrying Steven's bowl of soup to the table and placing it Infront of him. Walking back into the kitchen.

"Well, I've been looking for my brother. And we happened to get separated at sea." Steven said.

"Oh, I see. that's very sad. I hope you can find him." Rey said carrying his bowl of soup to the table.

"Well, you're lucky to have run into the district! Now you have a place to stay for the time being." Rey smiled.

"You're right. I thought I was going to die in that stupid forest." Steven said proceeding to eat his soup.

"I came to the Prime district to find a better life for myself. However, this district has a lot of problems with it." Rey states.

"Really? how so." Steven said eating with his mouth full.

"Well, we have factions in this district that have not been helpful for the people that live here. Most factions cause a lot of trouble, especially them.

"Who's them?" Steven asks in confusion and takes another scoop of his soup.

"A faction called Hacks, they are responsible for a lot of trouble and destruction in this district," Rey replies "The owner of that faction has a lot of power over this District, and he uses it to destroy things that belong to people."

"Well, that's not very nice," Steven said shoving more soup into his mouth.

"I'm glad you agree because I hate people like that," Rey said clenching his fist.

"Thanks for the soup. it was delicious." Steven said stretching his arms out and yawning.

"I'm glad you liked it. anyways you forgot to tell me your name." Rey said

"Oh, my name? well, my name is Steven!" Steven replies.

"Well, I'm glad to meet you Steven" Rey said reaching his open hand out to Steven.

"I'm glad to meet you too Rey," Steven replies, shaking Rey's hand.

"Well, I'm heading off now," Steven said getting up from his seat.

"Are you hoping to find your brother here?" Rey asks.

"Yeah, I am, maybe I'll find him here," Steven said. "I'm sure I'll find him."

"Well outside of my house are the faction grounds. I'd be careful if I were you since you might encounter somebody unfriendly." Rey warns Steven.

"I see. thank you for the warning." Steven said heading towards the door.

"Come anytime if you need help! I'll be here!" Rey yells.

"Yeah! I will! Goodbye, and thank you!" Steven said rushing out the front door.

"That kid, he doesn't know the true nature of this district. But I can sense determination in that aura. I know he'll somehow change things here." Rey thinks to himself.

The fields and trees and flowers surround Steven. the sky is clear without any clouds with a light blue color.

"First I'll need to see if anyone has seen Chris. And then I'll go looking for him." Steven thinks to himself.

Steven begins running into the distance leaving Rey's small house behind. Rey walks out the door holding a map in his hand.

"WAIT! I FORGOT TO GIVE YOU THE DIRECTIONS!" Rey screams.

"Shoot he's already gone." Rey sighs "Oh well, maybe he knows where he's going." Rey said heading back into his house.
