Sylvia said, "After we die, our souls enter an endless cycle of reincarnation. True Annihilation refers to a death so absolute that the soul is either too damaged to enter or is completely destroyed." 

Noah said, "That's… grim." 

Derek said, "And that's supposed to be part of my Innate Talent?" 

Sienna said, "Not just you. Every Archine Innate Talent is like that. Everything has a price. Always remember that." 

Sylvia said, "Let's move on from the grim stuff. It'll be fine as long as you don't slack off. Right now, you need to contract your first beast." 

Derek said, "You have my first beast?" 

Sylvia said, "I do."

A large egg, about 50% larger than an ostrich egg, appeared in her hand. It was black with golden designs on it. 

Sylvia said, "This is the egg that your mother's first beast laid just before she died. She sealed all of her essence in it and sealed it in such a way that only you can contract it."
