This story is about a boy named Dennis who has a certain gift that, at the same time, is a curse. His journey began to uncover a mysterious past, a forgotten promise and forbidden oath. Alongside his friends he takes on a difficult task to save his world from an unknown force called “Nightmare Shadows” (NS) and from been destroyed by an unstoppable force. He must fight alongside different versions of himself from other alternate universes while understanding what it means to hold on the title as the true menace of his world.
Dennis is a boy around 16 and soon to be 17 in a few months. He was in the hospital one night and lost control over his body.
As he woke up in a world called Dream World, the only way for a person to get in there must be first asleep, he had a dream that he was talking with two other people that are around his age, when he got out of bed, he was inspecting everything in his sight in the darkened room.
There weren't any clues or hints for him to guess, but he heard fireworks and noticed varieties of lights shine thru the window. He then got out of the room to see what was going on.
When he went outside, it seemed like a festival was occurring, but he knew he wasn't at home. He walked towards a few empty tents that made a path towards some stairs that lead to a higher location, but he felt he was being followed by two people that seemed lost as well, with no memories of how they had gotten here.
When Dennis reached the top, he saw a castle far away from where he was standing, a Sakura tree, a fountain, and a few benches.
He went to sit down on the nearest bench to just doze off looking at the sky trying to remember something once he closed his eyes, but he got interrupted in the middle of his short nap after hearing someone say hi to him and in the middle of an introduction.
"Hi, my name is Dj, and this is Claire. We saw you heading up here and we were wondering if you know someone that knows this place?"
Dennis's memory jogged a little, and he remembered what he dreamed a few minutes back. But he answered back.
"Sorry, but we're on the same page right now. I just woke up and I can't seem to remember anything."
Dennis said as he got up from the bench.
"Maybe we can find some clues in that castle."
Claire said as she was pointing at the castle that was on the other side of their location. They had no choice but to stay together.
Once they arrived, Dennis tried to open the door, but it didn't budge.
"A little help?"
Dennis had to ask for help since the door was too heavy. DJ helped Dennis open the door, but they were struggling as well to open it.
"This makes little sense... there's no one else around except us, and we can't get this door open! If I had a sword..."
Another memory just hit Dennis. He saw he was in another place during broad daylight, but he wasn't sure about something that came across when he saw a dark figure standing in front of him while he was down. He then snapped back to his senses and suggested going back to the place they meet.
"Hey, we should head back. Staying here wouldn't make things any faster."
Once Dj and Claire heard Dennis, they were all thinking the same thing. They all felt that something was a bit too odd.
On their way back. There was no one else to be seen. The place seemed desolated as if an evacuation was in effect, but they all heard a faint lullaby song coming from the castle.
As they got back to the stairs, they stopped halfway from reaching the top. A person in a dark cloak wearing a white smiling mask was standing in their way and they couldn't do anything to make him go away.
"Welcome to the place where your dreams can become a reality!"
They stared at the guy with a mask on, but before they could approach him, they felt something hostile nearby.
"What's the matter? Cat bite your tongue?"
The person said. Then Dj grabbed a rock and tossed it to his left side, while Dennis was pointing to his right side since he felt something in that direction and Claire was paranoid since she could see them easily.
Five shadows without a way to recognize the faces. The sensation of danger made them know a few ways on how to get out of this situation, but they choose to run away back to the castle.
The mysterious people dint chased them since everything was going to their plan and when they finally arrived, the door to the castle was open. Dennis, Dj, and Claire entered the castle.
Completely tired from running, they locked themselves in the castle and barricaded the main entrance so no one else could enter. Once they felt that their finally safe for a moment, they separated to explore the castle to see if they can find an exit. Claire was off on her, searching the main floor, and noticed something shining.
"What is a sniper rifle doing here?"
Claire grabbed it as she felt that the sniper she found belongs to her. Dj was searching in a storeroom near some stairs that Dennis went up to separate ways. DJ kept opening boxes until he saw something shine. It was too bright for him, so he quickly grabbed what it was, and it stopped shining.
"Why is there a pair of gloves shining here, anyway?"
Dj asked himself. He got out of the storeroom and Claire found him wondering where Dennis is at.
"He went up."
Dj said. They tried to follow Dennis, but he was already on the very top without being tired.
"Ok... let's see what we have here."
Dennis saw a desk with something shining extremely brightly on it. He touched, and he saw a sword while a few moments ago he was bragging about a sword.
"What's this next to it?"
He found an envelope marked with an M. Before he could open it, Dj and Claire arrived at the exact moment.
"Hey, you two made it just in time to hear this."
Dennis gave two rings that had all the colors inside a gem on them before he could read the message.
"Your journey begins now but you will all meet again in another world so you can finally defeat me, sincerely Ragnarök, PS: Don't make me wait for too long."
When Dennis finished reading, they dint had a moment to react in response to the message since a portal opened on the floor and sent everyone into another place. At that very moment, the dream ended, and Dennis woke up in a hospital.
