Their little secret
Cynthia exhaled and took her glasses off with an expression that said – take a look and fu*k off.
But Eric eyes glinted with excitement and childish happiness appeared on his face, ignoring that obvious annoyed look of hers.
"Wow! Gosh… you really are that girl but why do you look so different with this normal eyeglass?".
He gave it a thought while keenly staring at the hazy glasses that hid her eyes from being seen from outside.
Cynthia ignored him and her gaze swam and stopped at Wayne, before putting the glass back on her eyes, "Please be quick".
A click sound left her lips when Wayne got a call and become busy and ultimately, she had to stay seated for a longer time than expected.
"I heard madam Maria got sued for buying fake Cress Star jewelleries, and the one to ask for the legal team to make a move was you, miss Cynthia".
There appeared a kind of smart chuckle on his face as he sat back after taking a call which irritated Cynthia more.
"Where you investigating me?"
Her deep voice and frown appeared obvious that she found his behaviour bothersome.
But Wayne sly smile didn't fade and after ignoring to reply her straightforward, he said, "Its interesting that even after not studying about jewels you were able to distinguish between fake and real jewels within a few moments when you got into a fight with Maria Serta".
She squinted her eyes and let out a sigh, "My mother is a brilliant jewel appraiser and a designer, I might not had studied it publicly but it's not impossible to get private lessons from her".
"Is that so? And here I thought that it was all because of your amazing genes, miss".
While Cynthia lied without batting an eye, Wayne was intelligent enough to catch that lie and put a trap, too.
He indirectly asked Cynthia about her genes since he knew that the children who have been experimented on were sensitive about this word.
And Cynthia was caught right in the trap. Her not so interested look changed immensely as she gritted her teeth and frowned glaring at him.
Ed noticed it, too and swallowed.
"I don't like talking shits. Now that you don't have any important topic, I am leaving," she got up in a rush but Ed caught her wrist before she could leave.
"Don't go. We don't have any interest in your family or your private life and the topic is not useless. It concerns over that little child we got and also someone else present here," Ed tried to convince her and his alluring pair of shimmering blue eyes caught her attention.
If she hadn't looked at those pair of attractive eyes, she would have thought that Wayne was the person Ed was talking about.
"Its you?" Cynthia eyebrows drew up as she asked.
Without replying, he looked down at her chair as a gesture for her to have her seat back and she did sit down and shoved his clingy hands away.
She is definitely arrogant and self-centred.
The self-centred man scoffed at her, taunting her as an arrogant girl in his head and created a pitiful face, "Yes, its me. As I thought, you know everything about the illegal experiment and are also a victim of it".
That pitiful look put Cynthia off guard as she reminisced and pitied herself for being the biggest victim of Zina.
She didn't care about being an experimented child but her past life was full of regrets that she can't get over easily.
In the moment of daze, she nodded her head and let her truth slip through her mind that she kept a secret until now.
Wayne was expecting it but he still become shocked. She was the perfect experimented child he has seen until now. Whereas the child and their parents who were saved 19 years ago, were all had some form of deformities.
Some children were mentally ill whereas some died after being born. There were cases were the child mother become, too ill and died whereas some lost their reproducing functions but until now he has only seen Ed who was better then other children.
Except for the skin ship issue, he was practically the perfect man, science could ever make and now this girl.
He was amazed and even thought that she was lying since it was unacceptable. Her words were hard to accept that a living successful experiment was in front of him.
"Miss Cynthia, do you realize what you are saying? If this is true and gets leaked then those illegal researchers and laboratory workers will do everything to capture you," Wayne said it seriously, his furrowed brows become deeply furrowed.
