CHAPTER 11: HIDE AND SEEK CASE (CHEESY)

Willow's Pov

Next Day

I was at the school and walking to the cafeteria. I saw my friends with a gloomy aura around them. I went to their table and beside them. They look at me and look back at their food. There was silence and no one was talking like before until Brianna broke it.

"How are you, Scar?" she asked. I look at her and smile a little.

"Not quite fine. I've been trying to find out who did this but I found nothing," I answered.

"I want this to end. Why is it always us? We didn't even do anything wrong. Why is this happening to us?" Faith burst out. I felt guilty. This is happening because of me. It's my fault this is happening.

"I also want this to end but what are we supposed to do? Darius and Skyla already died and the killer won't stop until he killed us all?" Andrew said. We look at him confusedly. What is he talking about? How did he know this?

"W-what do you by that?" Skyla asked scaredly.

"Darius called me the night before he was dead. He mentioned that once Scar is back to school he will tell us what he found out. He found out about something guys. I know deep inside me, it was the reason he was killed. To silence him. He told me he overheard what the killer said when he was killing Faith. He told me that he won't stop until he manage to kill us. He saw who is it. That's why he was also got killed,"

Darius knew who was the killer. He witnesses Skyla's death. That's why his tongue was cut. To prevent him to tell anyone or to scream for help. If my institution is right, his tongue was cut first before being pierced by the round metal bar. Then, he was hanged.

"Let's not get bothered by this. If we got scared of him the more it will be easier to affect our way of thinking for survival," I said seriously.

"She's right, we can't let this bother us. Besides, Scar seems not bothered by it but by our gloomy atmosphere," Evangeline said trying to lighten the mood.

"Yeah, Scar always acts like she wasn't bothered but deep inside she's bothered," Hannah added, and everyone was agreeing.

"Hey, why are you targeting me?" I asked them.

"Because it's your day now! You didn't come to school for the past few days. So, bear with it," Faith said.

"Right, right. Also, who's the hottie you are with yesterday?" Evangeline asked. Here it comes.

"Right, he followed you like a lost puppy. Who is he?" Andrew spoke out. Puppy? I want to laugh but I was holding it he might get pissed by it.

"Also, they were very intimate yesterday. Did you see how he covered her eyes just for her not to see further what was inside?" Evangeline added. Captain Li was right. The way we acted yesterday can really make everyone misunderstand it.

"Who is he, Scar? Is he your boyfriend?" Hannah asked.

"Yeah, he is," I said shortly. Their mouth went ajar before screaming and gaining everyone's attention.

"What?! How?! When?! Why didn't you tell us?!" Evangeline

"Here I was thinking you are single and planning to introduce you to someone," Andrew

"Tell us how did this happen?" Hannah

"Can't you guys stop? I can't answer your questions when you guys keep asking," They went silent before I continue. "First of all, we've been dating for 3 years. He was studying abroad so I didn't manage to introduce you guys to him. He was here because he was on vacation. Second, I know you guys are going to tease me and I'm not ready for that, that's why I didn't tell you. Third, don't you dare to introduce me to someone I'm going to hit you if you dare to do it. And lastly, that's none of your business," I clarify.

"Ahh, so it's none of our business huh?" Hannah said and giving to signal to others. With a swift moment, they tackle me to the ground and start to knock my head lightly.

On the other side

Elliott's Pov

We have been watching the footage in the cafeteria where Scarlet approaches her friends. As long as Scarlet is present inside the campus the killer will have his eyes on her and not on the computer. We gave Scar an earpiece that can track her location in case she went to a place where no CCTV and we can also what they were talking about.

We found new information about the death of Darius and him being the witness. Until they started to talk about me and Scarlet. She seemed flustered by it, and so do I.

"Can't you guys stop? I can't answer your questions when you guys keep asking," They went silent before I continue. "First of all, we've been dating for 3 years. He was studying abroad so I didn't manage to introduce you guys to him. He was here because he was on vacation. Second, I know you guys are going to tease me and I'm not ready for that, that's why I didn't tell you. Third, don't you dare to introduce me to someone I'm going to hit you if you dare to do it. And lastly, that's none of your business,"

After she said that I feel my face heat up. How does she even know this? Isn't she thinking so deeply that she didn't realize I was there? This shocks me too much.

"It seems that someone was fluttered that his crush knows him too well," Mom teased.

"Mom! Don't tease me! Besides, how did she know that I was abroad all this time?!" I asked. Then, Archie patted my shoulder.

"Your girl is too smart that she connects the dots without us telling her," he also teased.

"The f**k!! Why is everyone teasing me?! Also, I don't have a crush on her or she's my girl!" I denied it defensively but they just look at me teasingly.

"You denied it too late," Elaina added making me blush more.  Not her too. Then we heard a chuckle from the other side.

"Why are you laughing, Scar?" One of her friends asked I guess her name was Evangeline.

"Nothing, I just remembered something,"

"What is it?" the guy asked. I'm guessing he's Andrew since she only has two guy friends.

"I just remembered how he denied that he has a crush on me in front of her mother and friends while being flustered," she said trying to stop her laughter while her friends burst out into laughter so does everyone around me.I blush more when it hit me that she can also hear us

"STOP TEASING ME!!!" I shouted

"Ah!" we immediately look at the screen seeing Scar touching her earpiece. I Now ifeel guilty.

"Are you okay, Scar? Did something happen?" Faith asked worriedly.

"Yeah, I'm fine. My teeth suddenly hurt maybe my wisdom teeth were growing again," she lied.

After class

I was waiting for Scarlet outside the campus and every student are looking at me. After a few minutes, I saw her with her friends. She and he friends noticed me. She smiles brightly and walks to me. I don't know why but my heart was beating so fast right now.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, still smiling. Her friends and the students are still looking at us

I hold her hand and said, "Why? Can't I pick up my girlfriend?" I asked back, smiling at her. I saw her face become red making me smile wider. "Let's go," I said opening the car door for her.

"Do you have a driver's license?" she asked.

"Yeah, why? Afraid that we got into an accident?" I reply.

"No, I thought you don't need it since you already driving me crazy," she said before getting inside the car. I heard everyone scream while I'm being flustered and got inside the car too. I'm too weak if it comes to punch lines.

"You didn't see that coming, aren't you?" Mom said on the other line.

"Shut up Mom," I said and start to drive.

"Please warn me," I said to Scarlet.

"What?" she looks at me.

"Please warn me if you are going to use punch lines like that," I said still flustered.

"Why? Afraid that you really for me?" she said.

"Don't worry, you don't need to be afraid,"

"Thank God, if you said one more pickup line I will really die?" I said stealing some glances at her but she was smirking.

"You don't need to be afraid, you know?" she said again.

"I'm not—"

"Because you already fall for me,"

"Yah! You brat!" I hissed and pulled the car to the side, then bang my head on the steering wheel. F**k! My heart going to burst. This is too cheesy. I hear her laughing and I can't stop watching her. I didn't know that I was already smiling. She stops laughing and looks at me.

"If you keep staring at me like that I will really think that you already fall for me," she said seriously.

I clear my throat and said, "You wish," I start to drive again, and everything become silent until we reach Scarlet's house. She bid me goodbye and thanked me before going inside. I drive again and I can't stop thinking about what she said earlier. Did I already fall for her? Nah! She just pique my interest that's all.
