Prologue. New Hope For Mankind.

Within a month, the virus gained rapid momentum and spread to all continents. The number of those who were ill exceeded 1.5 billion people. Every day, thousands of people were diagnosed as carriers of the virus.

Children and people with weak immunity suffered more than the others. Once in the blood, the virus began to mutate, and any medicine became absolutely useless. If a person had poor health and was infected with a virus, then even a simple cold could be fatal.

Among the population of countries where the number of infected was the highest, panic began. People left their cities in haste and rushed to the state borders. They also tried to reach low-habitable places to reduce the risk of infection. Mass migration led to the establishment of a global quarantine when any movement across the border was agreed upon after a thorough medical examination.

There was a rumor among people that a virus is a punishment for the sins of humankind. That it is the harbinger of the coming apocalypse. Therefore, no one used the official name of the virus neither in the press nor on television.

Worldwide, it was known as LDM - The Last Day of Mankind.

The scientists of all countries were working hard to create a vaccine. But it all was in vain. Until that moment, when two scientists have unraveled the full formula of the virus and have not created a vaccine to combat it successfully.

This vaccine was named NH - New Hope. And the scientists, who created it, glorified their laboratories to the whole world. The two firms that owned these laboratories halved the monopoly of vaccine production for the whole world.

To thank the scientists and the owners of the manufacturing companies, a new award, "For Merit to Mankind," was created.

These two companies were Lee Pharmaceuticals and Greenline Inc.
